After the defeat of Nne Mmiri and her associates of evil, Umuozara became peaceful and prosperous or so they thought.
The aftermath of the previous calamities were put behind them and their normal routine continued..
Meanwhile, after the coronation of Prince Afamefuna now King Afamefuna, things continued to blossom positively until after a year when Queen Ebere became pregnant.
"My Queen, this pregnancy really looks good on you. I thought pregnant women used to look ugly and usually have crazy and irritating cravings but look at you.. Looking ravishing.. Haa!"Ulumma said to Ebere that evening at the Palace court where they were receiving fresh air and eating bush meat prepared in peppered sauce. Even after Ulumma discovered she was the true daughter of Late King Omekannaya which made her the Princess of Umuozara land, she still refused to reside in the Palace or get all these royal entitlements..she still stayed with her foster parents (Asa and Okoro)..
----Ulumma was put into the womb of Asa to be born to Umuozara kingdom for the sake of their mission which didn't later work out----
"Stop that 'my Queen' title.. I am still the Ebere u used to know.. I am still your sister"Ebere said making a face
"I am sorry but you are still the Queen of Umuozara and so, you deserve all my respect"
They both laughed
"So how is mama and Papa??" Ebere asked
"They're well.. They send their warm regards"Ulumma replied
"And little Lotanna?"
"Ah! Lotanna is not little anymore oo.. That one is now a big boy"Ulumma said laughing..
Just then, a shadow appeared behind them and because they were gisting, they didn't see it.. The shadow hovered around them for a while and began to walk away.
Ebere turned around and saw it but before she could figure who it was, it disappeared..
She turned sharply towards Ulumma who was eating and didn't notice anything.
"Ulumma, did u see that figure that just left here?"Ebere asked in obvious fright.
"Figure? What figure??"Ulumma asked looking around
"Like a shadow.."Ebere said
"It might be one of your numerous guards or maids.. Is that why you're so shaken?"Ulumma laughed lightly..
"Keep calm. Nne mmiri and her evil daughter has been defeated.. No need to fear OK?"
Ebere nodded in agreement although she was very sure of what she saw.

NDI MMIRI KINGDOM
"My Queen, you don't have to go there anymore.. You can send any of us to go on the mission for u.. We do not want to lose you like your mother, our previous Queen" Ogoli, one of the Palace adviser said
"That's true my Queen. I agree with Ogoli. Why don't you send any of us to go in your place and deal with them squarely in revenge of our previous Queen Nne mmiri who they killed like a pauper..empower us let us go.."Anyanwu said..
Ajonwa stood up from the throne and paced around for a while..
"No.. I cannot send another person to go. I want to avenge the death of my mother by myself.. I want those idiots to die by my hand slowly and painfully.. I want to inflict my venom on them.. I want to teach them an everlasting lesson.. This is my fight and I must fight them by myself.."
"Nne mmiri wasn't just your mother. She was our Queen.."Ogoli said
"Oh yes! So the fight is ours and not just yours!"Anyanwu added
"Shut up both of you!! I have made my decision and so, your opinion doesn't count! I will go to Umuozara and deal with them myself..Gather my people and by tomorrow, I'll announce to you all who would take over my throne and the affairs of my kingdom till I come back from my revenge mission.. Now go!!"She commanded and after bowing, they left.

NDULUE'S COMPOUND
As usual, Adaugo and Omasili were doing what they knew how to do best----Quarel!!
"you cannot do anything, you are just a mad dog!"Adaugo screamed adjusting her wrapper
"You know what I can do nah! I will beat you blue and black. I will disfigure that your already wrinkled face.. I will beat you beyond repair.. You should know me"Omasili shouted untop of her voice.
"You are just a shameless akuna(prostitute), yes.. You think I don't know about your secret affairs with little village boys in this village? You think I don't know? Wait until I open your dirty buttocks in public"
Omasili was enraged by this accusation and pounced on Adaugo who fought back.
Surprisingly, Ekemma was seated right in front of her Hut fanning herself with the raffia fan and eating freshly cooked ukwa (perfect scenario of "I can't kill myself").
She made no attempts to separate the fighting women as she ocassionly glanced towards them and continued eating her food. She queried any one of the children who tried to separate them.
"Will you get out of there and let them fight on? Try to stop them and have me to contend with"She screamed at Obinna her son.
And so, Adaugo and Omasili fought and fought until they were tired.. They lay side by side hardly moving.. Adaugo ended up with a broken tooth and a severe head injury while Omasili couldn't move her left leg.. It had been broken!!
