I had to think of a way to get money to buy *the food stuff since Nelson wasn't going to give me. I took my son to school and went to my shop. I immediately remembered that I had finished* sewing Madam Mary's dress so I called her to come for it. Luckily, she was in need of it so she came to my shop the next hour and paid me Gh50.
Around 3:00, I picked my son from school and passed by the market to buy ingredients for jollof. My son's favorite. During our ride back home, Alex was blabbering about his day at school to me but my mind was occupied. But then he said something that caught my attention. "So the master told us we wouldn't be allowed to write the exams if we haven't paid our fees in full.." Oh no, Alex's school fees! I composed myself for him not to see how worried I was. "Oh yeah, we'll pay very soon dear." I said with a fake smile on ~my face.
Meanwhile, the exams was less than a month. Where are we going to get Gh600 within a month?
"Take of~ f your uniform and come and help me in the kitchen, okay?" I said to my son. "Okay ma" he replied while hopping to his room. He was such a happy child. We finished ~preparing the food and we set the table. Afterwards, I asked him to inform his father that the food was ready.
While eating, I decided to bring the school fees issue up. "Umm, Honey, Alex will start exams very soon and.." "And what?" As ~usual he won't let me finish. Why is this man like that ?? " Well, they said those without full payment of fees won't be allowed to write the exams" "Okay, then tomorrow go and pay" He replied while stuffing food into his mouth like a pig. He's really annoying. "With what money?" I asked trying my very best to hide my rage. "Cynthia, why do you always want to insult me at the least opportunity?" Hmmm, I knew that it would result in a heated argument so I told Alex to go to his room. "I'm not trying to insult you, Nelson. I only want you to try and make an effort to provide for the house like every man does." " Look, I won't allow you to stress me this way oo. The boy isn't even my own son, aaba". With that, he walked out on me. I was speechless. Alex not being Nelson's son is something that all three of us are aware of but he promised to take him as his own the day he proposed marriage to me. So why is he saying this now? Hmmmm
