Iya Labake health had now failed a lot; she would defecate in one place and at the same time urinate. Her burden was becoming too much for the person that was in charge of taking care of her. The smell from her body makes people to avoid her and as a result of her staying in one position, she started having wound all over her body.
“Mama, it would be better if you try and reach out to your son and your daughter-in-law” The lady taking care of her suggests.
“Hmm, I don’t know if they will accept me now, I have done a lot of damage to their family and to their lives” She replied as she managed to speak with agony and pains in her body.
“See now, no one has called you to check on you and you ought to be taken to hospital for proper treatment because am tired with all these kinds of work, I should not be here if not because of the kind gesture your son, Olamilekan showered unto me when I needed his help back then in paying for my school fees and am here repaying the gesture but your condition has grown worsen everyday and I can put up with it again.” The lady rants on.
Iya Labake was not even hearing all she was saying, she was just groaning in pain.
“If you say you can’t call your son, I will do that on your behalf, I know that no matter how bad you have treated him, he is still your son and you are his mother, he would not neglect you nor forsake you” The lady said to her.
“Hmm, you can’t understand” Iya Labake replied her groaning in pain.
The lady was not buying her idea as she picks up her phone and dialed the number of Olamilekan.
“Hello, please, is that bro. Olamilekan"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Olamilekan dashed to the door to open it as he heard Kemisola voice. His heart was filled with joy as he could not believe what has happened to him all this while.
As he opened the door, Clara began to fidget and wanted to run away from the sitting room but she fell down crashing mightily on the floor which left her with a cut on her hands.
“You don’t have to run, huh, are you not the one that says you want to see her” Olamilekan asked still looking at Kemisola and trying to understand all that had happened to them.
Kemisola sat on the chair that was close to the door together with her sister, she examined the whole room and sigh. Olmailekan on his part was just looking down, he could not raise his head up to see her face.
“You don’t have to behave like that, what seems like darkness to you would be revealed today” Kemisola said to him.
Clara out of fear of what might happen began to beg for forgiveness from the two of them, telling them that she had offended them.
“Kemisola, I played the role of the wicked friend to you, in spite of all your care and love to me, I betrayed you and took your position in your husband’s house, I used evil means to brainwash Olamilekan to make him fall in love with me and detest you, please I am sorry, have mercy on me” Clara begged shedding tears.
Kemisola did not talk but rather she smiles, while Olamilekan opened his mouth in disbelief.
“Are you not the one that best Kemisola on her wedding, with the way you helped to make the wedding beautiful, you were still the one that was behind the misfortune that almost ruin my life and marriage.” Olamilekan said and shed few tears which he had been trying to fight back but could not. Kemisola heart melted when she saw Olamilekan shedding tears, that was her first time of seeing him that way, she never knew he was that emotional, she wanted to move closer to him but Beatrice held her down.
“Don’t go to him yet or else you would ruin our plan” She advised her while Kemisola maintained her cool.
“Please, have mercy on me, I know I have erred, Kemisola, I was the one behind the poisoning of your drinks at the party in order to kill you, I went to an herbalist to make you dead but it backfired against me and it cost me my two eyes and peace of mind. I did a lot to destroy you and occupy your position in your husband house just because of the way you always tell us about how he was taking good care of you and I was not having that kind of care from my husband who always beat me and gets annoyed at the slightest thing, so I thought if I could have Olamilekan to myself, I would be enjoying these things but I was wrong, please forgive me Kemisola, I have really offended you” Clara cried as she was talking that mucus werr dropping from her nose.
“Ahh, you did all these to her, you are very wicked” Beatrice added and eyeing her continuously.
“It wasn’t my fault alone, Olamilekan has a fault in this also” Clara said and everyone looked up.
“I , How?” He asked.
“You are the head of the family but you are weak, you neglect your responsibility as the head, you felt the woman is the only one that suppose to be praying for the house while you do nothing. Don’t you know that iron sharpened iron, you ought to encourage her while you also join her in prayers but you did not. You though marriage is all about romance and gifting each other gifts” Clara added.
“I found out that the prayer life of you two was weak and that gave me an opportunity to crept into your house, it was a hole you refused to block” She said as she continued crying.
“I know I am guilty but I think it is time I tell you the right things you must know to keep your marriage. Kemisola, you are the woman of the house, you are the one that has the total knowledge of everything in this house, as a woman and wife, you have to learn how to control your tongue. Don’t have a running mouth that reveals all that is happening in your family. Whatever, you guys are doing as a couple to make your marriage work should not be revealed to other party, it is a huge mistake to start telling people about things in your house and family.”
“Kemisola, you are my friend right from university days, I know if not all, every details about you, you should try and surround yourself with positive people, you are married but you allow we that are not in husband house to have free access to your home, you saw me dressing in a way that was not pleasing and could make your husband fall to temptation, you should have rebuke me but you never did, when your husband was trying to point your attention to it, you paid a nonchalant attitude to him.” Clara said while still sobbing.
Kemisola was already sobbing also as she began to realize where she had missed it.
“Yes, I know I allowed the devil to make use of me, but you also caused it Kemisola, it is true that there is no way, in a relationship, there must be quarrel but must be settled with understanding. But on your part, you did not settle with understanding, you fought with your husband, and refused to cook for him that day telling him to find food for himself. It was an avenue I used to brainwash Olamilekan, the food I cooked for him that day with the drinks were already charmed.” Clara said still weeping.
“You see, I would not blame you alone, Olamilekan, the mummy’s boy is also at fault, you want to do something for the lady you wanted to marry, you were still telling your mother that can you buy a bag for your woman, huh, who does that, even if you want to make the gift a surprise for Kemisola, you could have possibly ask those that were there to help you select colors that they felt would be nice for a woman, but instead you called your mother.”
“Olamilekan, you wanted to plan a vacation trip for your wife, you went ahead and reveal it to your mother, even after you were married to Kemiosola, don’t you know that all these things sometimes causes jealousy between the women especially if one’s mother is not the giving type. You told her you were taking Kemisola to abroad and you thought she would be happy with her when she had asked you for something and you are yet to give to her, Huh” Clara said to him, this time her face looking hard.
“Any ways, I can’t really blame you, you are still a baby husband who has now been manipulated to be under the control of his mother, she now use demonic means to cage you and you now dance to her tune but I hope your brain is restored now, so you have to graduate from being a baby husband to the real man your wife desires, you have to stand up for her and protect her feelings, that you are trying to make her happy buying gifts is not enough, her emotions is another thing you have to look forward to, when a woman is mentally and emotionally unbalanced it affects a lot of things in the home”
“I remember when she came crying to me and Kate about you neglecting her food and eating that of your mother, who does that, and you want her to be happy, how can she even wish you well, Olamilekan, you also caused all these because you were not a man enough, and all is because of your lack of prayers”
“When I succeeded in chasing Kemisola out of the house, I found out that you are just so weak and I capitalized on that to further cage you demonically, it is true you try to be faithful an loyal to your wife as you refuse my s3xual advances towards you but that is not enough, you have to be spiritually sound as it would help you to repel every evil move that I took demonically. When I noticed that you were not giving in with the way I tried to seduce you because it seems you love your wife, I then went diabolically to capture you and you were weak in prayers so I got you” Clara said and by then she was on her knees.
“My last word for you is that you should be prayerful, communicate and pray together, the family that prays together sticks together, two shall chase ten thousands, hmmmm” Clara sigh while on her knee.
The room was silent as no one was talking, the sound that could be heard was only that of sobbing, Beatrice had cried her eyes out because everything Clara said was what made her lose her marriage, Kemisola wept and same goes to Olamilekan, no one could comfort each other.
As they were in that mood, there was another knock on the door and this time, it was Iya Labake, she was been carried into the house by some guys who had their nose covered and a hand gloves on. She was smelling terribly that the whole room stink.
She could not talk again, all she could do was to make signs. Olamilekan was shocked to see her in such awful position, he moved closer to her not minding the odor from her and embraced her. He wept a lot as he could not say anything. Kemisola cried the more seeing Iya Labake in that state. Clara tried to see but she could not as her eyes were blind and that caused her a lot of pain.
Iya Labake was crying but she could not talk, she made a sign to Kemisola and Olamilekan to come closer which they did and placed her hands on their shoulders, she murmured some words and tears dropped from her wrinkled face.
“Mama, lets take you to hospital and get you treated” Olamilekan said to her but she refused him.
“Hmmm, Hmmm, hmmm,” She could not utter anything again.
She used her finger to point to a sheet and biro which she was given, she managed to write something down.
“Forgive me and be prayerful. Kemisola go back to your husband and Olamilekan, you are no more under my control, take back your wife and cherish her like you use to do before.” She wrote down.
Kemisola took the note and cried trying to preach to her but iya Labake smiled and close her eyes.
“Mama, mama, mama!!!” She shouted but she was dead.
Olamilekan cried bitterly, same goes to Kemiosola. She had wanted to tell her she was forgiven but she could not.
Clara wept knowing that she was not opportune see Iya Labake before she died.
Few days later, Iya Labake was buried while Clara was taken to the hospital if there could something that could be done and prayers were being made for her but her eyes was not opened, she remained blind. It was at the hospital that police came to arrest her for engaging in selling of properties that does not belong to her and involving in fraudulent acts. Olamilekan tried to free her since it was his properties but those she sold it too refused to hear the pleas.
Clara was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment with hard labour and for been an accomplice in crime that would have led to the death of Kemisola as other of her gang members were apprehended.
Kate couldn’t find a man to settle as she was not prepared to be submissive and focused more on her career, she remained single.
Weeks later Kemisola and Olamilekan decided to change their location to another place in the Far East. They went to church and renewed their marital vows.
“I accept to take Kemisola Lawrence as my lawful wife, to cherish, love and honour” Olamilekan said in front of the pastor and some relatives to Kemisola and his.
“I accept Olamilekan Badmus as my lawful husband, to cherish, love and Obey” Kemisola saids with tears her eyes as she remembers all she had went through in her marriage while Olamilekan tried to pet her and planted a kiss on her lips while the people present clapped for them.
They later gave birth to twin, a boy and a girl. Kemisola became more prayerful, same also with Olamilekan and they dedicate their lives to God. Kemisola on some days still visit Clara in prison to check on her and preach to her to give her words of encouragement while Kemisola also talks with Kate but this time, everyone knows their boundary.
