ifeanyi ran after Kamsi to apologize for the way he talked to her.
"Uto'm please am sorry.. I didn't mean anything I said"He said dragging her backwards
"Will you leave me alone you ungrateful human being! I don't want to see you anymore.. Stay away from me!"She screamed and ran away crying.
Ifeanyi stood transfixed to a position. He didn't know what to do. He just walked back to the shop dejectedly.

Kamsi arrived home in tears..Her mother was sitting outside with bandaged arm.
"What is it? Why are you crying??"Nkiru asked
Kamsi didn't reply. She just kept crying.. Nkiru held her close and was consoling her.
"Nne, tell me what the problem is.."She said
"Is it not Ifeanyi? He insulted me.. He called me names"She kept crying.
"I thought as much.. That family is not a good family to marry into.. Just nekene aka m.. Look at my hand.. That mad dog Vero bite me and removed my flesh.. Madness runs in their blood. Leave that boy alone and go for this rich handsome man who loves you. Just see what Ifeanyi did to him.. The guy is now hospitalized..asin eh..family of mad people"Nkiru spat out

Kamsi was cajoled by her mother to go and see Felix at the hospital. She went with food and fruits..
"Good morning.."She said sitting beside him.
He raised his head and was surprised to see her.
"Kamsi?"
"Yes.. I came to apologize for what Ifeanyi did to you. Please forgive and forget"
"No.. It's nothing. We're good. That's what people do for love"He smiled
"So.. I brought these for you.. I hope you like it"She said bringing out the flask of hot porridge yam.
She helped him up and put the flask before him as he started eating.

Lydia had brought the bags of sachet water to Ifeanyi's shop but met him in a bad mood.
"ah ahn.. You ain't looking good. What's up?"She sat opposite him piercing into his face.
"Nothing really."
"What do you mean by that? You look so forlorn and downcast. What exactly is eating you up?"she asked genuinely concerned.
Ifeanyi sighed. "It's Kamsi.."
"What about her?"
"We had issues this morning.. I'm just disturbed because I said hurtful things to her"
"Hmmm.. Did u apologize?"
"I did..but she turned me away."He said
"Maybe she's still angry. Just give her a little bit time, then apologize to her.. I'm sure everything will be alright."
"are you sure?"
"Of course! Cheer up.."Lydia said tickling him and he laughed.

For 2 weeks, Kamsi had successfully snubbed and avoided Ifeanyi. She wanted nothing to do with him anymore.
Ifeanyi had tried talking to her but she wouldn't hear of that.
News has been making it round the Village that she was now with Felix. She was always seen in his car driving around the village. In the bar eating and drinking..
Ifeanyi was heart broken. He cried like a baby everyday and slowly, this began to affect his business..
"Ntoor gi.. Did I not warn you? Did I not tell you to leave that ogbanje alone??"Vero laughed at Ifeanyi as he sat there crying.
"it serves you right. You barely go to your shop, you don't eat.. You seat here crying all day while the lady you're dying for is all around the village making merry with another guy. You are a big goat... Tufiaa!"Vero spat and left him.
On the other hands, Lydia was trying so hard to keep up Ifeanyi's business. She cooked the food alone, went to the market, served the customers and did everything. But it was becoming difficult for her as she had to start reading in preparation for her upcoming exams.
She understood that Ifeanyi was passing through a tough time and needed all the help he could get.
The one that broke Ifeanyi totally was when he realized that Felix was getting married and to whom..??
