Ben was having an affair with another woman and I was caught unawares hearing that she was pregnant.
I bashed in immediately and saw my husband rejoicing as though he was in full swing.
"Ben,what is wrong with you?" I blurted angrily. "Your child have pushed up the daisies and you're here chilling out" I added.
"Oh! that one, it's a good news! and you should have the time of your life in here" Ben said as though he was having a ball.
I was down in the mouth. My face changed instantly and was shadowed in deep misery.
"Don't cry baby girl,come and join us" Ben's new wife Miriam muttered.
My face was like a wet week-end and I wanted to made my way to my matrimonial room when Ben called my attention that my luggages have been taken to the guest room – "you would be sleeping there" he said in his words.
"What? I know you're drolling" I said down in the dumps.
"You must be a fóol for saying that I am joking" Ben roared wrathfully.
I headed to the room to see if what he was saying was true because seeing is believing but behold, I couldn't find my bags and my clothes in the wardrobe.
I came out like an angry lion "Miriam you must leave this house" I shouted pointing fingers at her.
"She is pregnant with my son and you're not the owner of this house" Ben replied immediately"
"Yes, darling,she isn't" Miriam added.
"I am also pregnant" I uttered.
"Wow! My male child would be more important because you're going to deliver a baby girl" Ben retorted.
My temperament was very high and I rushed to give Miriam some blóws but Ben obstructed and knócked me down.
I stood up immediately not minding I hit my head on the floor. Ben and I started fíghting. He was fíghting beastily.
"Bring me the whip" he ordered Miriam when he held me on the ground.
Miriam brought the whip and my husband started bashing it hardly on my back "You will comprehend well this time,you didn't learn your lesson the last time" He said as he was bashing my body stiffly.
"Ah! Ah!" I kept screaming and no one came to my rescue. Ben kept béating, béating and béating.
I cried and my eyes were tearless. After assaulting me,he tied me up and ordered Miriam to bring the scissor and clipper that my head should be bald.
Unluckily for me, Miriam cut off my long ebony hair. Ben now used the new clipper and Bab off the remaining hair on my head.
I was bald and hopeless as a widow. Ben insisted that my mother won't step an inch in his house and I was not feeding well.
After nine months of suffering,I was put into bed together with Miriam my Ben's wife.
She gave birth to a boy and unfortunately,I birthed a girl.
I was very sad when I saw that the child was a girl child "God why?,why don't you give me a male child" I kept shouting at the hospital and the nurses were consoling me.
