In the year 2006,I and my husband were officially married after a long relationship.
Happiness was the name of our home as we were living happily and peacefully with no problems.
When I was put into a family way,my husband was on cloud nine because he could not wait to carry his own child.
Each time,he would put his ears close to my stomach and say "That's my baby boy kicking".
I'd always be cheesed off and I usually ask "What if it is a baby girl?"
"No, I know what I put inside there : it can't be a girl" he would repeatedly say with a loud voice.
I would seldomly be tongue-tied, looking up to God to fulfill my husband's dreams.
On the day I brought the innocent child to the face of the earth,my husband,Ben was like a dog with two tails. He ran fast and furious to the hospital to see his new born baby.
I was wreathe in smiles because I couldn't wait for Ben to see his carbon copy.
"There wouldn't be any DNA test to proof that Ben is really the father of my child" I said in my mind and chuckled.
Ben arrived and was grinning like a Cheshire cat as he went straight to the doctor's office.
"You're welcome Mr. Ben,sit down" said the doctor
"Thank you so much doctor" he replied and sat down as though he was over the moon.
"Congratulations! Mr. Ben, your wife have birthed a bouncing baby girl" The doctor said and giggled.
"Girl?" Ben mimicked the doctor,"tell me you're joking".
"No I am not" the doctor uttered heartily.
"You're very stúpid for saying that right to my face" he blurted and stood up immediately as though he had gone off the deep end.
Ben angrily left the hospital.
The doctor was stunned at Ben's reaction to the news he disclosed to him and he came to me and said: "ma'am you've to go now".
"What about my husband,haven't he come?" I asked.
"Don't worry about him, you will see a tricycle to board at the gate" The doctor replied like he wanted to chase me out.
"I left the hospital bewildered because of the actions shown by the doctor. "How can this baby be heated by this scorching sun?" I asked myself when I didn't see any tricycle to board.
Fortunately,I saw one and entered without hesitation.
"Oga, I don't have enough money with me now please! help me out" I pleaded to the Keke man.
"No problems, your baby is beautiful" The Keke man said with smiles on his countenance.
"Thank you so much" I responded.
The Keke man nodded his head as he aimed at taking me to my destination.
"Ben,what is it? Why didn't you come to the hospital?" I asked my husband when I got home amd saw him sitting on the long sofa with his two heads on his bald head as though he had a millstone around his neck.
"Get out you whôrish woman" Ben roared beástly. "better take this thing you're carrying away from this house because I'll kill her with my bare hands" ben added.
"You'll do no such thing Ben!" I spoke wrathfully with a deafening voice
Ben stood up and rushed me with fury in his mind. "Jesus Chríst" I shouted as Ben hit me on my left eye.
I fell down and nearly passed out. My baby wanted to fall off my hand but I held her tightly.
My left eye was swollen and torrents of hot tears was streaming down my face.
