The Gospel.... God's Deliverance!
I had just finished a teaching meeting when a younger brother walked up to me and shared with me his harrowing experiences at night, he said, 'masquerades flog me in my dreams'. I reminded him of some of the things I shared in the meeting, how that the man in Christ is seated far above satan. The next day, I met him with his face glowing, he told me, 'sir, last night, I was the one flogging them'. This scenario repeats itself severally as I share with people who they are in Christ. Recently, a friend asked me, 'do I need deliverance?' I asked if she was born again, she replied in the affirmative. I said, 'Then, you don't need deliverance'. I am aware that people have nasty experiences that provide inspiration for the running of 'deliverance' ministries. Sorry to say, 'deliverance' ministries are 'fear -factories' which do more to keep people in bondage than deliver them from it. That's not the purpose for this post. The only deliverance a man needs is in his believing the Gospel. Romans 1:16, 'For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of Elohim for deliverance to everyone who believes,to theYehuḏite first and also to the Greek' (TS1998). The man in Christ is a man delivered. Galatians 1:4, 'Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:'. What have we been delivered from? Colossians 1:13, 'Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:'. We have been delivered from the power of darkness! Notice the tenses, 'hath' which is old English for 'has'. It's done already! The redemptive work of Jesus is very much a deliverance from satan as it is a deliverance from sin. Hebrews 2:14-15, 'Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage'. In his death, was the deliverance from satan who had the power of death! Jesus has 'delivered'! No need to have sweaty 'deliverance' sessions! What we are to announce is the Good news of Christ's deliverance-Isaiah 61:1. And as people believe it, it becomes effective for them. Glory! And as believers are taught who they are in Christ, the more they'd exercise the authority they have in him. The very first time I spoke to a demon to cast it out, the Spirit of God said to me, 'Remember your superiority over satan'. We have been made masters in Christ over satan -Ephesians 2:6, 1:21-23. A Christian is a man delivered and a man made a master over devils. As he sees himself that way, his experiences will be conformed to this reality. #Auxano
