Episode 1 ***----*** "My son, what is the problem? Why are you looking so sad? Mr John asked his son, David who sat down on a woodend stool before his father's two-bedroomed house located in the middle of the village. .... "ehhh... ehhh" David said, clearing his throat to reply his father. ..."dad you know that my graduation ceremony from high school is coming up next week saturday, but the problem is that, the school authority insists that we wear black suit as the uniform for graduants. Father, i know that with our current financial status, you will not be able to buy me a suit to wear for the occasion; i was thinking of being absent that day, but dad, am the outgoing headboy of the school, i need to be present" David replied his father with worry written all over his face. "Don't worry my 'headboy' all would be fine, i will see to it that you get a brand new suit for your graduation" John said, whilst tapping the back of his son, in an attemt to cheer him up. Finally, he won as usuall, that beautifuf smile he loved to see on David's hansome face found its way in. David is now grinning ear to ear "come here" John said softly as he opened his arms wide enough for David to squeeze in. They both hugged, smiling like a happy family that had all they ever wanted. ....."Are you going to stand out there till eternity? Said a soft voice from the living room. "your food is getting cold you had better come and take it while its still warm" the voice continued. That is Mrs Anibe, she is the mother of David and a wife to Mr. John _________ The family were all in the living room already, John and Anibe sat on the two plastic chairs available in the house, to eat their meal. While Dave sat on the mat a few metres away from his parents mulching slowly his dinner of cassava pudding and okra soup which had become a daily routine, probably because John farms mainly cassava on his inherited piece of land. ..........."Dave you are still eating? When will you ever change this slow-eating attitude of yours? Anibe questioned. ..."But mum, i need to masticate the food properly to ease its digestion..." David breathed. "okay o, make sure you clear the table before going to bed" Anibe replied. ..."yes mum, i will...good night mum, good night dad" David is the only child Mr and Mrs John have, theirs is among those families that struggle hard only to make both ends meet, but yet John is keen on giving his child the best education he can offer. "i must give my only child the goose that lays the magic egg" he would always say. In his own view, education is like "a goose that lays a magic egg" if not so, what is the difference between him and a doctor, a lawyer and all the professionals? He usually question himself. ............David is always proud of his dad, though he can't provide him with all the good things of life, the love he showers is just enough, on the contrary, David find it hard to understand his mum atimes because she easily gets mad at him, she practically wants to dictate all his moves, though she do get emotional and caring occasionally. ..........."is she just being over protective? That question remains a puzzle to him. ------To be continued----

Episode 2 ****************** "Why have you decided to enrol Dave in a school in the city, is'nt there a community secondary school here at Ejule village? "my dear calm down....why do you sound like you don't want the best for your one and only son, David" John asked Anibe. ....."Dave is our only child, the only person that bears our name, of course i do want the best for him...i want him to have a better education and live a good life, but the school you want to enrol him in, is a private school and very expensive, where would we get the money for his fees? Does that mean we won't eat in this house again? Moreover, the school belongs to the wards of rich and influential people in the society. How do you want Dave to feel among those kids? He'll surely feel inferior. Do you want him to join bad gangs just to be like the rich kids? I hope you do understand me" Anibe explained. ........."now i get where you are coming from woman. We gave David a good and godly upbringing, we thought him morals, i don't think he would depart from it. And about the money, don't worry, God would provide. I'll do everything possible and legal, to make sure we live a healthy life and that David goes to school" John replied. "okay if you say so.............oh! I almost forgot i put something on the fire, let me go and get it" Angela mutterd, forcing a smile on her face. ___________ John laid on the bed smiling as he remembered like a movie, the conversation between he and his darling wife before he sent David to 'salvation high school' located at Amola, a more civilised town than Ebule village where he resides with his family. "At long last my son is graduating, all the toils and pains i went through to pay for his terminal school fees were not a waste, rather an investment. I would have regret it if i had sent my precious David to the community school in this village whose curriculum is upgraded with frequent strikes of the highest order" John thought to himself. ***THE FOLLOWING MORNING*** Its a beautiful monday morning and as usual, Dave woke up earlier than anybody in the house so he can have enough time for his home chores and yet not run late for school. After all the morning chores, devotion and sharing of pleasantries, Dave was ready for school. He wore his only pair of school uniform; a sky-blue trouser, brown belt, milk coloured shirt and a pair of black sandals. He never forgets to take along with him, his 'headboy' name tag, it earns him respect from his juniors and even everybody who reads it. ......"Dad...mum..am off to school" David said softly, after he emptied the plate of rice he ate as breakfast. He picked up a book and dashed out of the room. "hang on Dave....take this..." his mum said, stretching forth her hand to give David a hundred naira note. David thanked her and left. Episode 3 ************* ------ 7:30am At school----- Dave alighted from the commercial bus he had boarded to school, the journey was not all that stressful. He stood at the entrance to the school, admiring it as usual. His school is got it all, the outlook is tantalizing and the academic performance of the students is great. 'salvatiom high school is owned by prof. Dabot, Dabot indeed spent alot to make the school what it is today. The school takes students both in day and boarding, it is located in Ajaka estate, it has two big black iron gates opposite each other. The walls are cream coloured, its flowers and trees were perfectly placed, simply, salvation high school is the perfect place to groom students in any field of their choice, up-to date sport fascilities, laboratories that were up to international standards, well experienced teachers, etc. ....David climed the staircass as swift as he could, he headed to the top floor where his class is located. "hey Angela, whatsup" Dave greeted his best friend Angela. ..."am doing perfectly well, how was you night? Did you dream about me? She tittered "it was splendid, but i didnt dream about you" he chuckled....."the bell have been ranged, lets go and co-ordinate the students" he continued. "headboy spirit dey worry you abi? .....have you forgotten that prefectship was transferred to the ss2 students last week? Angela replied. "oh my bad, it skipped my memory....that means we have the whole time to inaugurate our rehearsals right? ..."yeah....lets make our graduation the best this school would ever experience." Angela giggled. David and Angela have been friends ever sincd their junior secondary school days, unlike David, Angela is from a rich and well to do home. Most of the time, she dupes her dad in order to assist David financially ___________ the SS3 students are done with their rehearsals for the day. They rehearsed drama presentation, march pass parade, special songs etc. Just to spice up their graduation ceremony. **** 3:30pm th same day ***** grinn...grinn...grinn. The bell wailed as its nob hits its metal case. The time keeper, Jim never fails to ring the bell especially that which marks the closing period. He is not the bookish type, he don't get enthusiasted with academics, except for extra curricula activities. Jim is i sport guy, he had represented his school in many football competitions and won medals. ----- David picked up his song booklet, he is ready to go home already. "besty, are you ready, shall we go now? David asked Angela "yeah sure, lets go" The duo walked down the road laughing and gisting untill they arrived at a T-junction, its time for them to part ways. "bye, i love my besty" Angela mutterd. Davhd was surprised as well as short of words. He never expected Angela to say that, she don't like talking about love, she claimed not to believe in teenage love. "o.....okay.,bye" David baded her. Angela had a big crush on David, she didnt want to disclose it to him, all that she does for him were out of her pure love for him. She knew she should'nt have let her guards down, this not the perfect time and way to profess her love for him. "that happened out of the blues....though i hope i give it a second thought" she muttered to herself, when she was seated in a cab, heading home. -------- On his way home. David kept pondering on the words of Angela, "love? Did she mean what she said was she only kidding? A part of him wished she loved him, but the other part is strongly against it; what would she expect from him? His nothing but a poor boy, he can never give her half the life she is living. Which girl on earth would'nt want her prince charming to be a 'big boy'. Many thoughts ran through his head. "i must mask my feelings for her, she might think am a gold digger" he said to him self. _______ "good afternoon ma" Dave greeted his mum when he entered the living room. "my son, you are back, how was school today? Anibe asked. "it was fine ma, just rehearsals and nothing else mum" "ok...go in, freshen up and eat your food". His mum was kind today, he enjoyed her caring side, he always wish and pray she remains like that, but it that is not always the case. "if only wishes were horses, i'd surely have a beautiful ride" he thought. ------- David is clad in a red sleeveless shirt and a jean trouser whose colour was gradually fading from its original black pigment. He had taken his bath and already had lunch, he felt refreshed. But something struck him....its 5pm, yet his dad is not yet home, thats quite unusual. ____TO BE CONTINUED_____ would be updated, twice a day, @10am and 5pm

Episode 4 ********** David could'nt help but worry. He tried all his best not to entertain negetive thoughts, He took a deep breath, left his little room and headed outside.....he could hear some inaudible vioces from afar. ----ANGELA'S ROOM--- Angela arrived home about an hour ago, she looked refreshed, having taken her bath and eaten the fried rice and chicken which her nanny prepared for her. She was already used to being home alone, she is the only child her parents have got, her parents work hard like horses, they hardly have time for her. She can't even recall the number of times her parents refused to attend PTA meetings and other parent-children occasions with her. "sorry...i'll make it up to you" is what they'd always tell her. Her mum is a nurse, she practices in Kogi state where she resides with her younger brother and daughter, Angela. On the contrary, mr. Peter, Angela's dad works with a software developing company in Abuja, he visits his family occasionally. .......Angela is tired of the boredom at home, she wants somebody to talk to, she wanted to speak with David in particular, but he don't have a mobile phone yet. ..."who knows if he don't want me to get his contact or he truely don't have a phone" Angela said to herself. ___JOHN'S COMPOUND__ David left his room, heading towards the direction where the sounds were emmanating from....as he moved closer, the sound became much more clearer. Its his parents who were outside conversing, he sighed as streams of peace and relieve flooded him. He caught the sight of a suitcase being held by his dad. He quickly ran to his dad. "welcome dad... .where have you been? Why were you not home earlier? "erhm......i have a surprise for you" John replied, with a smile playing on his lips. "what could it be dad? I can't wait" Dave replied. "ok....ok lets get inside" John replied, swinging his hands like a teen, he changed the tune of his voice to suit the act. ------- Already in the sitting room. Dave is burnin with curiousity, what could be in the suitcase? A suit? Is he dreaming? David questioned himself. He looked sternly at his dad...mum...and back to his dad. John sluggishly and expertly unzipped the suitcase, revealing a black material encaged in a white company-made nylon. Finally. John let the cat out of the bag, he had bought an ARMEAN suit, with a pair of Italian black shoe. "this are for you son, for you graduation ceremony" John said. "wow wow, thanks dad, you never fail to flabbergast me, i love you" David replied, he could'nt contain his joy. ....."but dear, where did you get the money...." "don't worry, thats story for another day, whats more important is that i bought the suit" John interrupted Anibe. She hate being interupted, she, changed the mood on her face, feigning anger. "no dad, i insist. Please tell us how you raised the money for my suit and these other stuff" David muttered, softly, breaking the seconds of silence that eroded room. John only kept smiling like a sacrificial animal been rejected for sacrifice, he is now ready to spill the beans....."you know, the cassava on the farm is already due for harvest, i decided to borrow some money from Mallam umar, the garri trader, hoping that we could make some garri using the cassava, then use it to pay him back. umar being so kind, lent me the money.....from there, i went to the market, and this is the outcome" he explained, pointing to the stuffs he bought. "you went through all these for me? Thanks dad, i love very much" David muttered. "anything for you son...........i also bought something for my darling wife" John replied. He knew how to fetch his wife's attention. "is that so?.... What did you buy for me? Lets see it" Anibe muttered. John laughed out loud. "i was only kidding" he chuckled. "you can't be serious, you'll go back to the market if you did'nt buy anything for me" Anibe replied, jovially ___TO BE CONTINUED___

Episode 5 ********** ......"you can't be serious, you'll go back to the market, if you did'nt buy anything for me. Anibe giggled "if you didn't have anything for me, whats hidden in the other bag? She continued. "i got you there huh?...you know, i love teasing you....this is for you" John said, handing over an ankara wrapper to Anibe. "thanks dearie....love you" Angela muttered. He is pleased that he took his family to another realm today, a realm where they'd forget even atleast for a minute that they are peasant. ****** seconds drifted to minutes, minute strayed to hours, and hours wondered sluggishly to days. Lo and behold, its the D-day, the day he had been waiting patiently for, the day he had always prayed for. Its 25th july 2009, its his graduation day!!! Dave woke up ealier than his usual wake hour, he did all his morning activities with great ecstasy like someone who just won a lottery. Before 7am, he was already dressed in his royal blue long sleeve shirt covered with a black suit. Adorned with a black bow tie stripped with white. Down to his feet is a pair of black shiny Italian shoe that fitted him so much as if the manufacturers made it exactly for him. He have never been this dressed up in his entire life....he looked more hansome, even Mr. Nigeria can't compete with him at that moment....You need to see him. "dad, mum, i'll get going, i think its better you come at 10am, the ceremony would commence officially at that time" "ok....bye son, take care" his parents chorused, unanimously. Dave collected his transport fare, and dashed out, he didn't care to eat, he was sure his rich classmates would bring some exotic food and drinks along. ____ The graduants are all beautifully and majestically dressed. "Its now time for the presentation of gifts to deserving students" the MC announced, kicking David from his reverie, he had been admiring Angela, she looked beautiful and gorgeous. ......David is a bit anxious, he knew he would recieve prizes today, but can't figure out what were wrapped in some attractive sheets and placed in the silver basin before thd MC. Episode 6 *********** ...... "All protocols duely observed......you all may be wondering why i decided to interrupt the prize presentation, its because of my exceptional student, David. Since his SS1 days, he had been the best in my class, i promised to reward him for his excellence....i wish to give him more than this, but i don't have much, what i have i'd give unto him. Ladies and gentlemen, lets give a standing ovation as David, the school's most outstanding headboy comes forward to recieve the parcel i have for him. The whole hall became filled with clapping and screaming of different overtune, as if a movie star was passing by........ Angela's voice is the most heard. To say David is over the moon is an understatement. ******** The event is now over, its time for the graduants to take pics along with their parents and/or guardians. Dave and his parent took only 4-5 pics, according to their pocket size. His parents left, while he(david) opted to join his classmates for more pics and fun before he retreats. "hey dude......what do you have for us, you know, today is probably the last day we'd meet; what would you share to serve as remembrance? Kelvin, the class rep said, refering to David "errh...the snapshots would be perfect for the sake of remembrance" David muttered. He practically had nothing to give his classmates, some students were sharing soft drinks, jotters and even mobile phones. "taking snapshots at an event is a normal thing......as the headboy, we want to remember you for something else.....you get the gist? Kelvin replied. "errrh.......errrh....... He is about to take his leave, he've gotten enough of the party. He searched for Angela but to no avail,... After about 15 minutes in the search, he sighted her from afar, she was with a guy, who held her hands as the walked. David felt jealousy creeping into his innocent heart. "she is not even my girlfriend...why am i getting jeaulous? He asked himself....he decided to go home alone, without informing her - what he had never done before. "Dave" Angela screamed from behind, David ignored her, making it seem he didn't hear he calling him. Angela ran towards him, but instead, he increased his pace. ***To be continued***

While in the car, they were gisting like old time friends who recently met after long years. Dave got to know more about her, her ambition and also that they had interest in the same university. Lo and behold, its a new tecno P5 andriod phone with an mtn simpack. He could'nt believe his eyes, he didn't envisage he'd have a mobile phone yet, let alone an andriod. Angela grinned ear to ear, shes happy to finally get his phone digits, nothing would stop her from getting it. ------ They arrived at the T-junction, where the duo normally part ways, Angela signalled here cousin to pull over, which he did, like an obedient driver. Dave and Angela exchanged phone numbers before he left. ___few weeks later___ Mr John called together is wife and only child......they were all seated in front of the house, under the gloomy luminousity of the moon. Its about a few minutes to 10pm, the best time to discuss important issues because the environment was quiet except for the chirping of sleepless birds and croaking sounds made by few frogs. "you remember my friend Simon, who came visiting yesterday? John asked, breaking the minutes of silence. "yes....what happened to him? Anibe asked with fear in her voice. "nothing bad happened...don't be scared.....he told me about a job vacancy at a bank opposite where he works, and asked if i was interested so he can help out" John replied. "but dad, you have no qualifications....would the bank take you? Dave asked inquisitively. "yes son, the job don't need paper qualifications, its a gatekeeping job" John answered. " hell no, i won't let my husband work as a gateman,... in a bank for that matter" Anibe cut in. "why? Whats wrong with that dear? "...have you forgotten so soon that Mrs. Sarah's son who worked as a gateman was shot by robbers, a year ago? Anibe replied. Episode 8 *********** John resumed work as a gateman, the follhng week..... All was going well, John used a greater percentage of his salary for the family upkeep and to save for Dave's tuition fees... The bond between Angela and David grew stronger over the months. Though they don't meet physically, they do chat via phone calls and social media platforms. -------- its been a week since Angela heared from Dave...she decided to give him a call...she missed talking with him, he has his way of taking away her boredom.luckily the line went through and Dave didn't waste time before he picked. Angela: hello, dearie. Dave:hi....how are you doing today? Angela:am not fine. Dave:why....what happened? Angela:its because i miss you....you didn't even care to call and you are not active on your social media platforms....there is god oooh. Dave:its not what it seems....just that my airtime got exhausted. Angela:hmmmmm....i just called to hail you....i have to go now....take care. Dave:thanks....okay bye, take card of yourself. Angela:i will.....bye. Some minutes after the phone conversation, David's phone bleeped;it was an sms from Angela, she sent him a five hundred naira worth of airtime. Without much ado, he loaded the logical pin sent to him...then proceeed to call hdr to thank her for it..' the chatted for more minutes before Dave ended the call. ******** ...The past few months were not really eventful. Mr John only visits occasionally because of the demands of his job. Dave and Angela both wrote utme examinations and were awaiting the admission list to be released.....the long waited list was finally out, fortunately, their names appeared on the list-they were admitted. After confirming this, Dave quickly phoned his dad, he was excited. David:hello, dad... John:hi son, how are you doing?...your mum? David:we are both fine.....guess what...... John:you know am very good at guessing......lets see.....you want to pay me a visit? David: no dad, you are wrong this time around.....the admission list was released yesterday and dad, i'm admitted!!! John:wow! Thats great news.....don't worry about your clearance and other expenses, i'd take care of it. Dave:okay...thanks dad. John:thats my duty as a father, you don't have to thank me..... I have to go now, take care of you mum. ----- The school resumed two weeks later, Dave's dad was able to raise some money for his clearance, accomodation and the likes. Dave is gradually adapting to campus life. He befriended his roommate, Joe. Who happened to be in the same department as David....Joe also did remedial science which gave him an upper edge against David and other students in some courses. He occasionally put David through in a few difficult courses. ___Angela's lodge___ "why did he decline my offer of we staying together off campus?....he might have had a girlfriend already....no matter what, i'd make him fall for me, here on campus, this is my greatest opportunity" Angela thought. She had wanted to stay off campus, together with David, b ut he didn't want that, his ego didn't allow him, he felt he would be a burden to her. He wish he was the one helping her out. _____ Days passed, weeks gone....the first semester is gradually coming to an end. Everybody especially freshers were excited to takd atleast two weeks break beford resuming. Except David, his dad won't be at home and he would be going to meet his ever scolding mum. ............ David got home only to meet his mum down, she was suffering from tuberculosis. Dave didn't want to let his dad know about it, he didn't want to add to his worries. Dave did some menial jobs to get money for his mum's treatement fortunately, his prayers and hardwork was rewarded, his mum's health began to improve. "mum, i'd be going back to school by sunday, hope you've fully recovered? "yes Dave, thank you....don't worry about me, i'd be fine, make sure you face you studies, and make us proud like you did in your secondary school days. "sure mum, i won't let you and father, down" David muttered slowly. ___ soon, the school resumed, though its activities were still at a low ebb because some students were yet to resume. "guy, school don resume again oooh....i want to start this semester on a good note" david told Joe with all seriousness. "good note ke?...you wan fast for forty days? "no i want your sister"David replied, smiling "of course you would want my sis if you are ready to donate your head" "ok back to business, the girl's name is Angela....that girl that visits me often.....you know her right? David answered. "yeah i do know her.....you have to make it special, you know, rich people love surprises" Joe said. "thats why i need an advice from your wealth of experience"David tittered "good boy...you did well, lets eat and i'd tell you about my idea" Joe replied. ______ John is about to close the mighty gate before him, for the night. He fetched the huge padlock from the room provided for gatemen by the bank. As he drew closer, he heard gunshots coming from outside the premises, he silently prayed the people handling the gun were not robbers or better still they shouldn't locate him. The gunshots became louder after each shot. John heard footsteps approaching. He quickly left the gate without properly locking the it. He surely can't go outside, where would he run to? Where can he hide in the bank? His heartbeat increased, it was beating 5X the normal, he felt his heart melting away. He decided to hide in his room and hope for the best. POW! POW!! POW!!! The scary sounds of gunshots filled the air. Some of the armed men had entered the premises. John peeped through his window to see if others were outside, if not, then he would escape via the window. He was already shivering in fear, perspirations formed on his forehead. Slowly and carefully, he opened the window, not to raise any suspicion, unfortunately, he had an eye-on-eye contact with one of the men, he was the only one without mask. John quickly closed the window, he cursed the man silently, for not wearing any mask. "that stupid gateman dey see us, e fit call police .......bazooka, go delete am" one of the armed men thundered. Fear gripped John the more, could 'bazooka go delete am' mean sombody was sent to kill him? He won't let that happen, he won't turn David an orphan and his wife Angela a widow overnight no that can't happen. He pondered, while his whole body was shaking like a cold kid. He picked up his luminous torch which shines greatly, brighter than a full moon, switching it on, he threw it in a direction opposite that which he planned to escape through......his plans worked out;the torchlight drew the attention of the armed men. Swiftly, John ran to the fence surrounding the bank' the fence is way too high, higher than his height. John managed to climb up while barbed wires atop the fence tored his trouser mercilessly. 'who cares....i must escape' he assured himself. 'THUD' John fell down, on the other side of the fence, his fall alerted some of the robbers who were outside. He panicked on seeing flashes of light directed towards him. He unconsciously took to his heels in a jiffy. The three armed men chased him. 'POW POW' they kept shooting at intervals. _______ Anibe just alighted from a bike in front of her house, she is suprised to see people wailing and mourning; Confused, she tried asking Jennifer one of her neighbours, what the problem was, but the on response she got was Jennifer pointing her index finger to the sitting room as her groans increased. Without much ado, Anibe walked briskly to the sitting room only to behold the shock of her life, John's corpse laid on the floor, wrapped in white linen material. Tears flowed freely from her eyes, she became totally devastated. Anibe managed to go outside to find out the cause of her husband's death. Coming out, she met a stampede. People were screaming different incoherent words, but she could hear vividly that someone was screaming "ojo mi mi mi oh(my God my God)" another person was shouting "David David". David had an accident on his way home. "oh God, why me? Why? Why?. God how am i to bear this? Please take my life, God..... ___To be continued___

Episode 10. *********** ......"oh God....why me? Why? Why? Why?. God how can i bear this alone? Please take my life....G o o o o o o o od. Angela woke up echoing the 'God'. "what a terrible nightmare" she muttered, while panting furiously . She became scared to the bone. "if he dies, Dave would get it from me" she muttered. She checked the time, it was 2am already, for that, she didn't bother waking anyone with a phone call. She knelt down, said a word of prayer and went back to bed. ---Meanwhile, 10:30pm @John's location---- John kept running as fast as his leg could take him, the sounds of the gunshots he was hearing terrified him greatly. He saw a narraw path leading to a fairly thick forest, "they would back down if i take this path" he told himself and changed his course, towards the forest. The armed men were unrelented in the pursuit, like he had something they needed, to them, if he escapes, the police would trace them through him, the wanted to clear their tracks; a clean operation, so they resolved to end his life. Gradually, the gap between John and the armed men was closing, John ran into a narrow woodened bridge, he reduced his pace, so he wouldn't fall into the beck. .....,,, POW...,,,, one of the men finally succeded, he aimed John perfectly, this time. John groaned in pain and fell into the stream, it was only then that the men retreated. John said his last prayers with the few strength he had. He know he can't make it out alive, having been injured inside water......he also prayed that Anibe would become more kind and caring to Dave now that he is going to meet his ancestors. _____THE NEXT DAY_____ With Joe's help, David launched his plans; he can't wait for lectures to bd over for the day, for him to invite Angela to his lodge. At around 4pm, Dave phoned Angela, asking her to come over to his place, saying he had a surprise for her. In less than 15minutes, Angela showed up, she was clad in a royal blue gown, with silver necklace, earrings and stiletto to match. The scent of her perfume filled the air. 'knock.....knock' a smile crept on David's face....."just a moment please he said then picked up his mp3 and hid it behind the curtains. "please come in" he muttered. Angela obliged, she entered the room, only to be welcomed by the most romantic setting her eyes ever behold. The corners of the room was decorated with red and white floral curtains, red and pink roses strategically placed round the room, a table was in the middle of the room, David adorned the table with salivating dishes and red wine. The lights in the room was made dim, making the room romantically reddish. Angela's mouth flunged open....... "you can seat here" David said softly, pointing his hand to a chair opposite where he was seated. David switched on the mp3 using the remote with him........"I'll love you with every beat of my heart and I swear I'll give you every thing I can ......" David sang along with All-4-one's hit song 'i swear' playing from his mp3. David got to his knees after eating, he help Angela's hands and asked; Angela Would You Be My Girlfriend??? Angela was blushing, she had anticipated this moment for a long time, she couldn't believe her ears, she pinched herself, just to make sure she wasn't dreaming..... ....."yesss......yesss i will" she replied excitedly. "thank you" David sighed and went over to hug her. David's phone beeped, at first, he didn't want to pick the call, but seeing its his mum calling, he quickly disengaged the hug, for him to pick his call, his mum don't always call him, except when something happened. "i'm fine ma.....dad?.....wh....what happened....ok am on my way ma" David said and ended the call. What is wrong? Confused Angela asked. David couldn't utter a word, he stood spellbound like statue. "m...my...my dad" words finally escaped his vocals. "mum said the bank where dad works was entrenched last night.......and dad is no where to be found....i have to go now" he continued, his voice now tremulous. "oh no...i'm sorry for that....hope nothing bad happened to him...i'd go with you" Angela said softly. Episode 11 *********** Its been a week since the incidence, yet John was yet to be found, not even his carcass, no lead to the robbers. "we are working on it" "don't worry we are on top the situation" were the response Dave keep getting from the police. ........David is still mourning his dad, he didn't care to go back to school, whats the use going back when the only person who pays his tuition fees and cares for him the most is no where to be found? ......Angela came visiting, she never told Dave she would be coming over, when she entered the compound, she sighted David outside, washing the laundry. , she tip-toed to his waist and tickled him from behind, he jerked off the blues, he don't like being tickled, he turned to see the 'devil' tickling him in this crucial moment of his life. He was surprised to see Angela. "hey.....you startled me.....how were you able to locate my residence;you never told me you would be coming" David tittered. "i followed the address you once gave me.....where is your mum?....won't you atleast take me inside? Angela chuckled. "oh my bad, lets go in please" David replied, wiping his soapy hands using the unwashed laundry. The sitting room had been a bit re-furnished, John had placed two couches and a round centre table in the room, the plastic chairs are no more. "please excuse our house" David muttered. "Ah! am comfortable, afterall you would erect a mansion for us in the future won't you? "you are not serious.....lemme inform mum you are here" David replied as he walked briskly to his parent's room. Knowing the kind of mum he had, installed fear in him, what would be his mum's reaction if she finds out he had a girlfriend? Would she scold him or get mad or worst humiliate Angela? many thoughts ran through his head, he can't afford to let his mum humiliate Angela, no he won't let that happen. He flunged open the curtain to his parent's room, his mum laid on the bed. Sniffing at intervals, she was obviously crying. "hmmm....mother, i have a visitor....my girlfriend, shes in the sitting room...." he fumbled. "okay, get going....i'd join you guys" she replied. ........In less than five minutes, Anibe came out of the bedroom;her eyes were swollen, she had been crying all day. Shes dressed in a black gown which didn't fit her, but portrayed the picture of a be-widowed Angela sympathized with Dave's family. An unusual silence flooded the room, Anibe came to the rescue by popping a BIG QUESTION "my dear, David told me you are is girlfriend right? "yes ma....it is" Angela replied. "for how long? Anibe continued questioning like a detective investigating a murder case. "I and Dave have loved each other since our high school days, but its only last week friday we became a couple officially, ma" Angela replied. "its the day his father died that this boy decided to have a girlfriend? Is this..... "ma, hope you don't have a problem with our relationship? Angela cut in, bringing back Anibe from her trip down the land of reverie. "No my daughter, am okay with your relationship,.... i was only surprised that David never told me about it until today" Anibe said, feigning innocence. They continued discussing about differs issues, ranging from life on campus to Angela's family. Anibe soon lost interest in the conversation...she had alot of problems of her own, so she decided to excuse herself. --------- "Dave, daddy wants to see you......he works at Abuja, he only came to visit us, unfortunately, he would be going back tommorrow, he wants to see you before going back" Angela muttered, when they were both left alone in the sitting room. "why does he want to see me? Did you tell him about us? David bombarded her with questions. Episode 12 *********** Dave never envisaged Angela's family could be so rich, the mighty iron gate, mini volleyball court at the corner of the house, fleet of luxurious cars, etc. all smelt luxury. The house is simply beautiful. An interstice quickly formed between David's lips as he got clearer view of the house. "you mean this is where you live? David asked with disbelief. "no, we are only passing by" Angela chuckled, smiling sheepishly. _______ Angela led David to the sitting room, words can't describe how the interior of the mansion looked, the wall are valspar's bleached wheat in colour, pale gold matched well with the colours oe the room, the cathedral ceiling is a plus for its luxurious look, the house is an achitectural masterpiece, a display of great affluence. Dave appreciate all that the house is made of, the ceremic tiles shines like diamond, he felt he had been invited to heaven. He was too engrossed in his thoughts to notice the presence of Angela's dad.....not until he heard Angela muttering some indistinct words. "dad, this is David, my boyfriend.....Dave, meet my dad, the best dad in the whole wide world....Mr. Peter Omale. "G...good day sir" "how are you son?....please sit" Mr peter breathed. "Angela....go get me my checkbook, its upstairs, where i usually keep it" Peter said. Angela excused herself reluctantly and stormed out of the living room. "David or what do you call yourself.....are you really dating my daughter? Peter roared, his countenance changed to the worst. "ye...yes...yes sir" David stammered, seeing the new look Peter wore. "young man, i know you kind, you are a gold digger, you want my daughter simply because of what shes worth!" the man fired. "with all due respect sir.....i love your daughter wholly, am not after your money sir, i would always love and cherish Angela" David replied tremulously. "how much do you want? With just a slap, he would send a teenager straight to hell. Each step he took left the precious tiles wailing and David's heart pounding. Perspiration quickly formed on David's forehead as he swallowed hard, he can't tell his fate in the next minute, he regret coming in the first place. All he could do was say a short prayer and hope optimistically. "sir you called me? The beast asked. Episode 13 ********** David became greatly scared, fever quickly located him, he knew the 'entertainment' wasn't the type defined in oxford dictionary. "dark room? Oh am as good as dead, who would survive an encounter with this dude-bro? ......is this how rich people behave? They keep beasts in human form just to terrorize the weak and poor? ____UPSTAIRS_____ Angela ransacked her father's bedroom for minutes now, yet there was no iota of luck on her side, this isn't the first time shes getting her dad's checkbook for him, usually, he keeps it in the drawer, but she've checked there over and over again, no positive result. "why would dad need a checkbook? Maybe he wants to help David? She asked herself. ......oh my God, David! She almost screamed as if she've forgotten him all this while. "i shouldn't keep my David waiting, the stuff is probably not here" she continued, as she opened the door, heading downstairs. 'TAWAI' Konji slapped David, on his left cheek. The effect of the slap made David fall face down on the floor, his vision became blurred, his ears echoing some strange but funny sounds, down to his nose is the free flow of a rich red liquid-he's bleeding. _______ Angela arrived at the scene, she was shocked to see David being dragged away by Konji, her dad's bodyguard on special duty. His vision wasn't clear but he can see blurredly a womam dressed in a white gown, with a white nurse-like cap on her head. What happened to him? Why is he here with a weak body? His memory went blank.....he just can't recall anything. "you are awake?.....thank goodness, we thought you wouldn't make it" "wu...what do you mean? What happened? John asked, in a frog voice. "you mean you don't recall anything? Okay, lets start like this......whats your name? the nurse asked. "my name?.....m...m... "its okay, just have some rest, we would discuss later" "okay" John managed to reply. _____________ Its been weeks since his dad's disappearance, David is so downcast, it seems his whole world have fallen apart. His exam would commence in few weeks time, he is far behind in terms of lectures and reading...how would he cope? He can't afford to miss the exam "half bread is better tham none....i may not know what to put down, but atleast i won't be marked absent if i seat for the exams" he shrugged. He made up his mind to ask Joe his friend for help. _______ At about 6:55PM, the nurse was done feeding John with some friuts, he felt a bit stronger, but can't remember anything. "ma'am...can you please tell me how i got here and why? John pleaded. "i would tell you the little i know" the nurse concurred. "just give me a minute, i would be right back" the nurse continued, as she reached for the door nob, to open it. Not long after she left, she returned with a fairly tall, slim and dark complexioned man. He is clad in a long ankara robe, like a muslim. "this is mr. Tim the man who saved you. Two weeks ago, he went fishing late at night, as usual, it was then he saw you inside water, with your blood afloat, he then brought you here - to the village clinic......i discovered that you were shot with a gun, very close to your thoracic vertebrae, good thing it wasn't affected, you would have been on wheels for the rest of your life" the nurse explained. "do you now remember what happened? She asked. John turned his head left to right on the pillow "no i don't.....my memory have gone blank.....i....i "don't worry, you would recover your lost memory, you need to rest now" the nurse cut in. She turned to Timothy, the fisherman who rescued John. "mr. Tim, your patient here has amnesia, retrogade amnesia to be precise, its the inability of thd brain to retrieve information that was acquired before a particular date, usually the date of an accident or operation. I think its because he had undergone some traumatic events, during which his mind chose to forget rather than deal with the stress......if only we can get him to do the things he normally does, he may begin to recover his memory, gradually" the nurse explained expertly. "but nurse.....what can we do? Tim questioned. "i really don't know ; you might wanna go fishing or hunting with him, lets only hope he has done some of those before" "okay......it would be my pleasure doing that" Tim replied, softly. _______ David laid on his small-sized, student-like bed, contemplating his education. His dad is now dead, who would pay his tuition fees henceforth? Should he drop out or continue schooling, finish this semester then look for any job to do? He asked himself over and over again. He is now the man of the house, its his responsibility to take care of his mum, but he don't have anything, if not for the little money his dad sent to him before his death. His mum surely can't help out with this, she is nothing but a petty food seller, she can even cook a day with people not buying up to half the food she prepared, couple with her strange attitude. As David pondered on the present condition of his life, hot and heavy tears pricked his eyes, he sobbed bitterly.....wetting the pillow on which he rested upon. Episode 15 *********** David woke up the following morning, weak and exhausted after rounds of weeping. He had his morning devotion like a devote christian, which he is...he did the necessary clean-ups and was ready for campus. "mum......i'd be on my way" "you still have the will to go back to school? What about your tuition fees? Feeding etc, who would take care of them? Anibe asked. "mother.....the semester is winding up, let me finish my examinations.....when i'm done, then i would think of my next course in life" David replied with a little frown on his face. "hmmmm....what money would keep you for the meantime" Anibe asked. "the little money dad sent me before his death still remains...i would manage that...please be fine mum, and don't cry again" David replied, picked his little bag and left. ___@school____ In less than an hour, David arrived campus, he headed straight to his lodge, where he met Joe reading. "hi Joe..... "hello Dave...welcome back...Angela told me what happened, i was too busy to visit you, please accept my condolences" Joe said sincerely. "Thanks my brother....its part of life...people live to die someday, and life goes on" David replied, wiping his face with an handkerchief, he was crying again. ------ "thats enough, we can continue tommorrow please, am sleepy already" David tittered. Joe had been tutoring him on the main lectures he missed when he was away. "its okay,...if you are tired you can have some rest, but i won't be here tommorrow" "why? Where would you be going? "i intend picking up some of my text books and also to get some foodstuffs you know" Joe replied, grinning and raising his eye brows jovially. "we don't have lectures tommorrow, do you mind if i go with you? Dave requested. "sure, i don't mind....we shall go tommorrow, infact, my house is only a few kilometers away" ___THE FOLLOWING DAY___ John had been discharged from the hospital, he now lives with Tim for the meantime. "i want to go hunting, you might want to join me, trust me the house would be boring without me" Tim continued. About 15minutes into their journey, Dave envisaged Angela may come visiting while he's away, he decided to phone her. ....Angela ignored the call and called back immedietly...they chatted all the way, laughing out their lungs, some of thd passengers even got irritated with Dave's endless call as they gave him killing looks. He didn't care, all his attention was transfered to Angela, not until...screeech, the car suddenly halted halted, on the high way. David became terrified seeing hefty and heavily armed men coming out from opposite sides of the forest. "Jeeesuus" a woman seating next to David screamed. "what happened, who's shouting Jesus" Angela asked inquisitively "bae, we are being attacked...i gotta go now, please pray for me" David said fearfully. _____ David woke up from a long sleep, he tried stretching his arms and legs, only to discover he had been tied down. He was 'bundled' and thrown in an obsolete large building. The building is gloomy, thanks to the light rays coming from the moon, penetrating the room via the interstice between some mud blocks atop the building. Everything played like a movie in David's head; a short long-beared man pointed his gun at the driver's head and POW the driver was shot dead...the men entered the vehicle.... Thats all he could remember. "they must have used charm on us" he thought. His dad is dead, only he and his mum are left in this big and wicked world, how would his mum accept the fact that he is misshng and might be dead? His girlfriend Angela? "noooo" he almost screamed. "i need to do something and get out of here" he told himself. He sighted Joe lying next to him.."Joe. Joe...wake up" David commanded, whist tapping Joe. Joe rolled abit, "wetin na? Person no fit sleep? Joe asked, it have not been registered in his head, where he is. "do you think you are in a 5-star hotel? My friend wake up to reality" David tittered Joe now fully awake, realised they had been abducted, not on the both of them, but the people in the room would count roughly to 20. "guy ..we are in trouble, i've recalled everything...chai, hope sey no be boko haram hand we dey ooooh! Joe lamented. "ehhh...the main thing is for us to escape now" David replied. "what! Escape? Do you think this is some hollywood heroic movie? We are talking of real guns and men here...count me out, leave me to my fate, if they kill us, we die" Joe repl

Episode 16 *********** Its about 7:45pm, the forest is getting darker, fear flooded John. "Tim, don't you think we should have some rest? I'm tired, besides we have gotten some games already" John softly said. "i have a torchlight with me;we can use it to guide our path.... by the way, we have gone beyond the border between Okola, our village and Umon, the village ahead, i suggest we spend the nigh in Umon, considering the weight of our game and the distance we've covered" Tim suggested. "i agree with you, tommorrow, we shall head back to our village...but the problem now is where shall we rest? Who would take us in for the night? John asked. As for me, i would take my chances" David replied courageously, if only Joe could see the streams of fear in him, the were capable of drowning an elephant. But David wasn't ready to let fear develope deep roots in his heart, no not now. He was very determined to escape, nothing can stop him now, he might have an iota of luck on his side. But what if he escapes where would hd be heading to? How would he untie himself? This thoughts stormed David's head. "yessss" he almost screamed as an idea strucked him _____ John and Tim walked a few kilometers...it was worth it because they finally got to the village and have located the market square. Fortunately, the market had few rooms in it, they both went to a room in other to pass the night there. The room they entered was so disorganized and dirty...used nylon bags littered the floor, the smell of animal wastes filled the air. The duo tried their best to tidy it a little atleast for the night. In less than 30mins, they were both sleeping and snoring already. ___ attached to the key holder in Dave's pocket is a small but sharp knife. "how to get the knife out is the next mountain to overcome" David told himself. His both hands were tied backwards like a criminal in cuffs. David squeezed and rolled his body for the bunch of keys to fall off, but his efforts were not rewarded. "Joe can you please get me my keys from my pocket? Dave requested. Joe reluctantly obliged, yet it wasn't an easy task as Joe's hands too were tied down. After minutes of struggles, dave succeeded in freeing himself. He tip-toed to the only visible door the building had. He caught the sight of a human figure guarding the door, two thoughts confronted Dave, one told him to back off, while the other encouraged his escape plan. David took silent steps furtheq, to get a clear view of the figure, so he can know how to launch his attack. He examined the figure from behind, its a man, his muscles were terrifying, the gun that hunged freely from his neck sent shivers down David's spine. Swiftly, david launched his first move, he encircled his right arm round the man's throat, his medium sized muscles chocked the man, as he gasped. The man could barely breathe let alone call on his fellows, he tried fighting back, but David wasn't letting go. Minutes passed, the man wasn't moving anymore, David let him down to feel his pulse, the man was gone. This is the first time David ever killed, he felt guilty. "am i now a murderer? A bad guy? This is probably what someone did to my dad" he thought. David felt remorseful and sorry for his act. He can't entertain any thoughts for now, he have to get out of here somehow. He reached for the AK 98 and torchlight lying on the ground, picked them and continued his escape. "HEY....STOP RIGHT THERE" a voice roared from behind. David became scared, he wish he didn't try escaping as Joe advised. "surely my punishment is going to be worst" he thought ___To be continued__

Episode 17 ********** ....."hey ....stop right there" a voice roared from behind. David became terrified hearing the voice, he prayed the ground should open and swallow him...or better still, rapture should take place but none of these happened. He remembered he had a gun with him, though he have never handled a gun before, he knew by pulling the trigger, some bullets would fly out with the speed of light to a designated direction. His right index finger quickly located the trigger, he swiftly turned, while pulling the trigger. PRATATAWPOWPOW. David shot the gun...he fell down in the process as a result of the pressure from the gun, it was then it dawned on him he had been shooting the sky. "so this is how the devil planned to ruin my family? First he killed my dad, am next and then my mum would die of...... "you've never handled a gun before have you" the voic interupted David's thought. "please don't kill me...please i beg of you" David pleaded, still on the ground "did you vow never to stop daydreaming? fear gripped you to the extent you don't recognize my voice? The person questioned, laughing out loud. Dav feld some relieve and strength, hearing those words.....he stood up to see the owner of the voice, alas! Its Joe. "J.....Joe? .....you spooked me man, i thought my life was about to end here today....that was a risk you took, thank your stars i wasn't experienced at shooting, i would have blown off your skull" Dave tittered, and threw a friendly punch at Joe. "by the way...why are you here? Do you also 'want to pay mr. Death a visit by escaping? David mimicked what Joe told him minutes ago. "switch off the torchlight.....shit! They've spotted us....to your right....can you see them? The gun shot surely alerted them" Joe whispered, when he saw some men who were obviously their abductors coming towards them. The duo sub consciously picked race as if they were in a marathon. The men also ran after them. Dave couldn't number the men exactly, but to say they were up to 8 would be a close guess, the men spread, running in all direction towards them, to make sure David and Joe are re-captured. The moon's light was no longer a good guide, the canopies formed by the forest trees obstructed its light rays from penetrating, also David threw the torch away so that they wouldn't be traced easily, they were now running like blind men, that made them bump into trees and roots. "get them...get them" "don't let them escape" were the words coming from the men. ____@Umon market___ John and Tim were dead asleep, probably dreaming already. John convulsed, he felt a very soft and long creature moving on his skin, at first he thought its Tim's hand, "but Tim is a man, his hand can't be this soft and smooth" he thought. The creature was slowly moving towards his chest region, thats when John envisaged it to be a snake, he quickly jumped up, on his feet. The room was dark, he searched for torchlight but didn't find it. "Timothy" he shouted, waking Tim from his sweet sleep. "what is it? Tim asked with a shallow sleepy voic, he was oblivious of the situation. "where is the torchlight? John asked. "why do you need" "common man, produce it already, if i don't need it, i won't ask for it.........i think there is a snake in here" Tim jerked on hearing 'snake' and reached for the torch immediatly. Though being one of the greatest hunters in his village, Tim had an achiles heel, he has a natural phobia for snakes... Tim Switched on the torch, with only a few minutes of search, they sighted a snake, it had swallowed one of the bush rat they caught during their adventure, so it was harmless for the meantime. Tim reached for a stick a stricked the head of the snakd, he striked the more, until the snake died. "BAD OMEN" John sighed. ___To be continued___ [color=blue]too short? Episode 18 ******* The pursuit continued for over 45 minutes, some of the men were retreating. Joe saw a human figure heading towards him, 'certainly, this is not David's stature' he told himself. He positioned himself properly behind a mahogany tree. When the dude was about to pass by, Joe greeted him with a hard punch, directly on his cheek. Joe could tell the guy's jaw was shaking. He went to the guy, to draw some blood via the syringe of punches, but unluckily, the man on the ground kicked Joe in his groin region. Joe also fell, wincing in pain. The man managed to get up, he picked up his merchete and raised it up, in an attempt to strike Joe with it. Just then, David came to the rescue, from behind, he swept the man off his feet, the man fell down again. David and Joe beat him badly and stabbed him in several crucial parts of his body. The left the corpse and continued their race, but this time, nobody was aeter them. After running some distance, they got exhausted and needed to rest badly. Luckily, they found a 'clean' place under an Iroko tree, they passed the night there. __7:45 AM, NEXT DAY__ John and Tim were still asleep, they indeed needed the rest after yesterday's tiresome adventures. Four of the king's guards interrupted their sleep by bumping in unannounced , they are clad in green ankara material, with a local head warmer and a cutlass for each. "wake up...wake up" one of them thundered whilst tapping them fiercly. "the king demands to see you, intruders!!!" another guard yelled, with a frown on his face. "why do the king want us? We are not doing anything bad we...... "don't let me lose my temper...get up lets go now" the same guard interrupted Tim, with his deep voice. The two men left reluctantly, many thoughts ran through their heads, of course they had their games and hunting materials to use to prove their innocence before the king. ---- The king's magnificient compound left John starring at everything around the palace, they seemed familiar, but he wasn't able to put things together, to make a clearer picture in his mind The guards dragged both Tim and John to the king's presence. The king motioned the guards to leave. "don't kneel down, please seat" the king muttered, honestly. The men explained everything to the king. "when i got news that intruders came to our village yesterday night, i thought you were here spy on us" the king admitted. "you....(pointing to John) whats your name? The king continued. "your majesty, he lost his memory, he can't recall anything, not even his name" Tim defended. "i see....sorry about that, its just that he has a striking resemblance to one 'mr. John' who left this village some 19 years ago" the king replied. "is that so?....your highness, he may be the one well i don't know his name...don't he have relatives here whom we can ask? Timothy questioned, curiously. "he do have relatives, unfortunatly, they are scattered, his father is dead, his only sister got married to a man in the city, she no longer lives here. His mum is the only hope left, but she fell ill and is currently recieving treatment from the eyes of the gods. Shd would be back in two market days, you might want to stay here and wait for her? "your majesty, we would like to wait for her...sir, i request that one of your trusted guards should be with us during this period, so he can take us to memorable places in this village...if he is truly the one, this would help in regaining his memory" Tim pleaded. The king obliged, he gave them an apartment in his guest house, with a young man from Umon, to guide them through their tour. _____ Dave rolled left and right, he was awake. he had the roughest night ever, as insects of differs size feasted on his beautiful skin, he also had series of ugly nightmares. But it was a relieve he escaped his abductor yesterday. David's gazed left-right-front and back, he can't find Joe. "where could he be? Did the men find him? But we slept together yesterday....did a wild animal devour him? No...nooo thats not possible" david shrugged, trying not to entertain evil thoughts. "Joe...Joe...Joe, where are you? David screamed. The onlything he could hear was his voice echoing. Fear gripped him. "why are my losing the most important people in my life? Am i to leave this forest alone? Would i survive it? David asked the thin air. WHAT HAPPENED??? __To be continued__

Episode 19 ********** "Joe....Joe...Joe...." he continued screaming not minding his abductors might be somewhere around. David's eyes turned 360-degree, like that of a camelion, searching for Joe, he wasn't willing to give up, he refused to accept the fact that Joe is gone. His search continued for about 30minutes, it was then he heard someone whistling. He was glad it isn't an echoe of his voice. He peeped the direction where the sound was emanating from, he saw Joe in the middle of a shallow, obviously short-coursed stream. "wanna bath? Come join me" Joe muttered. "silly boy....you still have the will to bath? I was scared searching for you....why didn't you tell me you would leave? David asked "must i tell you all my moves? "you are really some bad a.ss, first you pretended to be my abductor, last night and now you feigned death or missing....i wonder why am stuck in here with you, hope i don't get BP" David replied smiling. "you were asleep when i left, didn't want to disturb you......moreover, i wasn't sure if i would see water nearby, my star shines brightly even in the forest you know" Joe giggled David also pulled off and joined Joe in the beck, for a refreshing bath. After taking their bath, they felt refreshed but hungry. They both wondered about hoping to find something edible to eat. "chai...see tantalizing coconut....but how can we get them? The tree is way too tall" Joe lamented. "i can use my skills....remember my late dad use to be a farmer, we do this always" David cut in. "okay....but make sure you don't fall because i gat no first aid for you" Joe chucked. "is it the witch in your village that woul cause me fall? While they were passing by the church, John overheard the pastor preaching about salvation, the word 'salvation' sounds strangely familiar to him, he tried hard to understand why, but his memory wasn't coperating. _______________________ Dave successfully plugged four coconut fruits and shared it with Joe. They both enjoyed its sweet taste. "this forest is very rich.....i've never tasted this kind of coconut in my life, its so delicious" Joe said, whilst eating. "please close your mouth when you chew something" David said, smiling, he was obviously puked seeing the coconut in Joe's mouth. Episode 20 ***** David walked briskly to the stranded lady, obviously, her car broke down. "good day ma'am" Dave greeted. The lady asked in a very fearful tone, her hands were alreay vibrating to the tune of fear. "calm down ma'am" David said. "if i had evil intentions, i wouldn't have wasted time in initializing it...i'd explain things to you later, but for now, lets check you car. I guess i can employ my little engineering knowledge" David continued, leaving the lady mute. She was convinced he mean no harm, but still had little doubts about his motive. "where is he from? What do he want in return? She asked herself repeatedly. While checking the car, David told her about his experience with their abductors and also his ordeal in the forest... "start the car lets see" he muttered, when he was done trying his best. Yes! He screamed He finally made it! He fixed her car, his little knowledge wasn't a waste afterall. "you must be a good student to have rectified the problem...thanks i appreciate. Am Gloria, and you are? The lady asked, stretching forth her hand for a handshake. David closed his eyes, he was enjoying the moment, he felt her hand very soft, like he shouldn't let go. "not as nice as Angela's" he tried convincing himself, so he won't entertain any stupid thoughts. "am David, ma'am" "cute name you got...where is your friend? The one you told me about? "he's answering the call of nature, ma" david lied. "thats funny...when he is done, get him, i'm heading to Abuja, i can give you a ride if you want" Gloria replied. "Yes Joe is an orphan who has wicked relatives, practically, they don't care about him. But what of me? My mum would go nuts if she finds out am missing, Angela surely would be dead worried about me. The examinations would commence next week, i'm not prepared for it yet, Infact am totally broke, am not even worth #500. What would i do? David pondered. His dad who cater for him is gone, he is only but a shattered confused young man, should he stay or go? Yes he do want to go back to Kogi state, to his mum, Angela and his education. But where would he get the transport fare from? David continued thinking. "i can't ask Gloria for money, i'd stay here in Abuja. Episode 21 "but on one condition." "what is the condition? we would do it, anything" Joe cut in. "my condition is that, 50% of your supposed salary would be mine..consider it, you would have free shelter" "but ma'am.... "do we have a deal? Gloria interrupted Dave. "yes......yes we do! Davd and Joe chorused, unanimously after exchanging glances. "good, your salary is #20,000, that means i would be paying you #10,000. Your feeding won't be a problem, except if you have to buy some personal stuffs like clothing and the likes" "thanks alot Gloria, this is so much" David muttered. "no no no, don't do that, stand up....i'm only returning a favour, you helped me a great deal out there. If not for you, who knows, i may have been killed, rapped or robbed, while on the high way" Gloria tittered. They soon became friends, probably because they fell almost in the same age bracket, David was 19, Joe 20 and Gloria 23 years old. They continued discussing about many stuffs, Gloria told them the company belonged to her dad and she happened to be the first born, she also graduated university last year, so her dad made her the C.E.O of the company __ At about 10pm, Gloria led them to the higher floor, where her guest room is located. Dave loved it, he had never had such a big room to sleep in, except in his fantasies. __SATURDAY MORNING__ Dave didn't have a perfect night rest, he couldn't take his mind off his mum and Angela, the only people he had in this world. He woke up, had said a little word of prayer, before leaving for the living room. Its only this morning he got a clearer view, the room had a 42-inch LED TV resting on the wall, brown shiny terracotta tiles. Etc. They were all nice. "this is too much for a spinster" Dave mutterd, silently. Joe also joined him. "o boy, this girl nah big girl oh" Joe who stood akimbo said, in pidgin. David concurred by nodding his head. Just then, Gloria came in, she was clad in a night gown. They exchanged pleasantries, and she showed them the way round the house, toilet, kitching and bathroom. "take your bath, while i prepare breakfast, we would have to go out this morning, for you to get clothes and other necessary stuffs" she said, when she was done showing them the rooms. "thanks...but no thanks" David said, he had his own pride to protect, here is a total stranger, providing them with all they need. What is she up to? He asked rhetorically. "i understand how you feel...believe me, i have no evil intentions, i only want to help...if you want, you can pay me later" Glory said as if she read David's thoughts. Gloria drove them to the city mall for some shoppings, when they were done with the little house clean up. Unlike Joe, Dave was shy, he didn't pick what he actually wanted. She also took them to her dad's company, told them their duty to the company and the rules and regulations guiding it. Also they were to resume work the following monday. @ANGELA'S LODGE Angela dailled David's phone for the umpteenth time. Episode 22 ****** The following week, David and Joe started their job, it wasn't all that stressful. They work eight hours a day, delivering goods to various people. That gave them the opportunity to meet different kinds of persons, the rich and poor, young and old, citizens and foreigners. Dave love his job very much, especially because some people do give him extra cash on each deliver;though some others get on his nerves, they would always bargain on a product, despite the fact that it has fixed prize. There is this woman he loves delivering goods to, she buys jewellry, electronic devices, etc. Mrs Joy is a gorgeously looking woman in her late forties, shes also stinkingly rich. On each delivery, she'd give Dave an extra of atleast #2,000. David felt some bond with her. She is also friendly and would always ignite a conversation, each time Dave comes by. Her demands became weekly, dave wondered if she do it on purpose or thats her status quo. ____ John's memory is gradually returning. He could recall he had a dad, mum and sis. He knew deep down he has a wife and a son, but don't seem to recall much about them. The woman they've been waiting for, for weeks finally arrived, shes in her early seventies, her face wrinkled, her vision too was growing blurred. John and Tim were invited to meet her. "maaaamaaa" John almost screamed on seeing her. "ah....oma mi(my child)" the pooq woman also screamed. "why did you leave the village without atleast informing us? She continued. "leave the village? He asked rhetorically. Tim stood bemused, he is happy his efforts were gradually paying off. "ma..your son here lost his memory, he hasn't fully recovered yet, please be patient with his" Tim defended, as usual. "lost his memory? How can somebody lose his memory? The woman asked. "this woman must be an illitrate" Tim thought. "ma...somebody can lose his memory, if he had an accident of some traumatic event" Tim explained, from his layman pohn of view. "okay...so when would he recover? "this woman is seriously annoying" Tim told himself. "ma....i don't know yet...i'm not a doctor, but the nurse said he would recover soon" he replied convincingly. "hia...i hope he does before i die oooh" the woman lamented. "no, he would recover when you are in the grave" Tim said, silently. "yes ma..lets pray he does" he replied, this time, loud enough. Tim left John alone with his mum, and retreated to the King's guest house. He was begining to feel like someone from a royal dynasty, because the king treated him and John as such. They wore royal robes, ate royal foods and had maid servants. Tim was happy he found himself there. ____@SCHOOL____ Angela had reported the case to the police, days ago, but just as she envisaged, the police didn't produce the only person her heart beats for - Dave. Angela would always spend the night weeping rather than sleeping or reading. She don't have time for her books any more, and didn't care to get a cell phone yet. Her examination had commenced, she didn't want to fail, her dad would scold her, if she gets a carry over, in any course. She resolved to pay one of the egg heads in her class, to write for her. She can't wait for the semester to end so she would go in search of David herself, but how? ____ @ABUJA____ On one fateful day, >Dave was sent to deliver a laptop to Mrs. Joy, Dave was glad, he even thanked his boss for sending him, leaving the boss owed. Dave got to his bike and started for Mrs. Joy's office, he was ecstatic he would have a fat pocket today. He didn't have a hard time locating Mrs. Joy's office, this isn't his first time. Episode 23. ********* Dave didn't have a hard time locating Mrs. Joy's office, this isn't his first time. As he approached, he could hear groans that tells someone is in pain. He traced the groans to Mrs. Joy's office, without knocking the door, he stormed into the office. Joy was wincing in pain. Dave walked to her and asked what the problem was, Joy couldn't reply, the only words that escaped her mouth were "my secratary....get her....my secretary....aaarh" dave felt remorsed, he quickly fetched Debby, the secretary. Debby wasn't wearing a surprised look "oh...not again" she muttered "please help....lets take her to the hospital" she continued. They both helped Mrs. Joy to the car, dave didn't know how to drive, so debby drove, while Dave was with Joy at the back seat of the toyota camry XV30. In less than 30 minutes, the car halted in the premises of a big hospital. Debby motioned some nurses to help take Mrs Joy to her 'special ward' which they did, while one of the nurses ran to call the doc. All this while, Dave was confused with the whole scenario 'special ward? Is Mrs. Joy a sickler or something? He asked himself. Debby was about walking out, when Dave held her hand. "a minute please....do you mean what you said, a couple of minutes ago? He asked, with worry written boldly on his face. "what i said? I did say many things, which of them? "when i informed you about your boss's condition, you were like 'not again....' does she always have this attack? David asked. "yeah...this isn't ma'am's first attack" "why? Whats wrong with her? He asked, curiously. "madam don't want her health issues discussed with anybody, especially an outsider...i won't tell you anything, just hold your peace" debby replied. "am not an outsider, madam is fond of me, she wouldn't even mind telling me about it, so just say it already, please? David pleaded. "okay....but make sure you keep it a secret." she warned. "my boss is suffering from leukemia" she continued. "are you sure you know what you are saying? Your boss is d.amn rich, how then, can't she pay for a leukemia treatment? David asked, with disbelief. "you got it all wrong, my boss is suffering from a very chronic case of leukemia, what can save her now is a stem cell transplant" "and.....? "and, she haven't find a suitable donor yet...you can go ask her doc. Why....am not a hospital worker....now, if you would let me go..." debby said, and left the hospital. Dave still wasn't satisfied with debby's explanations, he walked to to doctor's office, hoping to meet him and ask a few questions, for proper clarity. "good day sir" he greeted, when the doctor had ushered him in. "good day young man, please sit" dave sat one a chair, opposite the doctor. "sir, i was the one who brought Mrs. Joy, please how bad is her condition? "its not that bad" the doc. Replied. "whats actually wrong with her sir? "am sorry, our medical files are strictly confidential.... "yes, i know sir...but... "no 'buts' thats our rule here" the doctor cut in, harshly. "here me out sir, i'm not trying to dig anything...all i need is simple explanations...i know she has a chronic leukemia which requires an immediate stem cell transplant" Dave replied. The doc shrugged. David took it as a 'go ahead' gesture. "sir...can you explain why she haven't undergone thd transplant yet? "why do you want to know? The doc questioned. "sir, i'm in my 2nd year in the university, studying chemotherapy" Dave lied. "hmmmm, that means, you would soon join us in the field" the doc giggled. "we haven't gotten a suitable donor yet, because her blood type, RH-negative, is very rare. Its occurence in the whole of Africa is only 2%....you may ask, 'why is it that none of her relatives have the same blood type? Its very possible for a mother to have an RH-positive blood, and give birth to a child with negative....all the people Mrs. Joy brought for testing have Rh+ blood types" the doctor explained expertly. "sir...is it possible for a stranger's blood to match? "thats a very very rare case, it occurs, one in thousands" the doctor replied. "sir can i try? Episode 24 ********* ...."sir...is it possible for a stranger's blood to match her's? "thats a very rare case, it occurs one i thousands." the doctor replied. "sir....ma'am Joy had been a big help to me, ever since i met her...i would love to help her out, if i can...sir can you please take a sample of my blood to test if it'd match? Dave asked the doctor, sincerely. "young man... I understand what you feel, its not easy, seeing you helper going down, without you doing anything to help.....i would take a sample of you blood, but hey, don't keep your hopes high, the bloods may not match" the doctor replied. "okay sir...thanks" The doctor extracted some of Dave's blood for testing. "i'm taking it to the laboratory for testing, right away...you can check back tomorrow; the result would be ready by then" "okay...thanks doc" dave thanked the doctor, and left. He was pleased to help Joy, she is too good to die now, he prayed their bloods make a perfect match. ____THE NEXT DAY___ Dave took permission from Gloria, saying he wasn't feeling well. Gloria beseeched him to go home and have some rest, he thanked her and left. But instead, he went straight to the hospital, first to see Joy, and then to find out if their bloods match. Dave got to her 'special ward', he was surprised to see her all alone, in the ward -no one was with her, and she was fixed to a drip. "good day ma'am....how are you feeling now" he muttered. "i'm don't think am improving ;by the way, thanks for saving my life" Joy replied, with a sick voice. "its nothing .... Ma, may i ask you a question? "yes, go on" dave sat beside her, while she rested her head on the hospital's pillow. "ma'am, why are you here alone? Why are your Kids? Relatives or husband? Dave asked. "my husband went on a business trip to london, and...and" she paused abit, and tears flowed freely from her eyes. "i don't have children" she continued. "its okay ma'am, have you eaten? What would you like to eat? "i don't have any appetite for food" Joy replied. "no...i insist, try to eat something, even just a little." "okay, tea would do....." "alright ma, i'd be right back" Dave replied, and left the ward. He later came back with tea and some toast bread, he bought it downtown. He fed Joy with it, like a caring son. "Dave....you have a good heart, a heart as pure as gold....you are this kind, despite the fact that you know only a little about me?" Joy said, she appreciate Dave's kindness. "is this what it means to have a child? I wish that devil spared my only child" she told herself. "excuse me ma'am, i'd be back...lemme see the doctor" Dave said, after Joy had gotten enough of the bread and tea. He went to the doctor's office, knocked, and the doc ushered him in. "David.... right? "yes sir.... "please seat, i'm sure you came for the result....well, i have some news for you.... "really sir? Whats the news? Dave asked curiously "its actually a good news, your BLOOD MATCHED!!! thats a very rare case, am surprised that your blood and that of mrs. Joy matched 5 out of 5. You could be related somehow you know" the doctor muttered, with a smile on his face. "wow thats a relieve sir" davd sighed. "yeah...you would have to bring a relative who would sign the agreement that you would donate a stem cell.....no 'buts' this time okay? "okay sir...i'd come along with my brother tomorrow, so the operation can commence fully" dave replied. "thats good to hear" "sir....i would take my leave now..." Dave muttered and left the doc's office. He went back to Joy as he had promised. He kept her company for hours, they both chatted and made jokes like friends. Dave left the hospital at about 7pm, not after he bought her dinner, from a canteen. ___ he came home and met Joe and Gloria glued to the tv, watching God knows what.... "ogah....where you dey come from na? Joe asked in pidgin. "ehhh....i carry excursion go heaven" dave giggled, and sat on a sofa next to him. "seriously....where went you? And why did you switch off your cell phone? Gloria asked. Dave explained everything to them and asked Joe to act play his brother before the doctor, tomorrow. "Tufia....God forbid, i won't sign your death warrant, if you want to donate your stem cell, count me out....did i enjoy her money with you? Joe replied, with big grin. "stop acting like a kid...don't you know that stem cell regenerate often? That means i won't be endangering my life by donating a stem cell" Dave explained. "okay...you win, but if she gives you cash after this....remember me in your kingdom ooh" Joe tittered. "did i tell you am doing it for money? Dave shrugged. "dave....its good to help if you can, i wish you luck in the surgery" Gloria cut in "thanks for your concern, Gloria..." dave replied. ____ The following day, Joe went together with David, to the doctor's office, he signed the necessary documents, and left. .....----....... David's stem cell was taken from his bone marrow, there wasn't any form of complications, but the doctor advised him to rest for two days, before being discharged. ________ The exams ended, Angela was glad she didn't have any failures, thanks to her money and the brain box in their class. Angela picked some of her stuffs and headed home, she decided to visit Dave's mum the next day. ____@JOHN'S HOUSE___ Angela alighted from a bike in front of Dave's family house, she saw Anibe outside, cooking. "good afternoon ma" "afternoon....how are you my daughter? Anibe replied. "am fine ma.....ma.....is David home yet? "no, have the semester ended? Anibe asked. "yes ma, but for the past few weeks, Dave haven't been in school" Angela replied, taking a small stool, to sit on. "did he tell you where he went to? Anibe continued asking. "no ma, i think he was kidnapped or something" Angela paused, to read the expression on Anibe's face....it wasn't that of surprise or remorse. "kidnap? Why would he be kidnapped? Maybe he did something wrong and is running from justice, he would soon come back" Anibe replied coldly. "what kind of mother is this? She didn't even feel sorry. She practically don't care about David" Angela thought. ____Two weeks later___ Joy's husband, mr. Steve returned from his trip, he was informed about his wife's stem cell transplant. He was really happy, he never envisaged they would find a donor. About a week after his return, Joy was discharged from the hospital, though the doctor stressed she would need some outpatient care, for the next few months. David came to the hospital, the same day Joy was discharched. Steve thanked Dave, and urged him to follow them home..... ___To be continued___

Episode 26 *********** David was glad that Mr. Steve invited him to go with them, atleast to know where they live... The steves are filthy rich, they left the hospital in a convoy of three toyota land cruisers. One in the front, another at the back then steve, Dave and Joy were in the middle. Dave felt like a rich dude, for once in his life. The cars drove slowly to a very luxurious district. Everything there spelt riches....the gate to the Steves magnificient crib is an automatic gate system, it don't require a gatekeeper, it flung open, and the cars drove in. They alighted from the SUV, the house was elegantic, everything its made of was simply perfect, if Dave was to compare, he would regard is dad's house as an ant hole compared to the mansion he is in now. David tried his best not to be naive, but his countenance betrayed him. Mrs Joy ushered him in, put on the TV to make him more comfortable, while the house chef prepared something for them to eat. At about an hour later, the chef served the food on the dinning table. Dave refused to eat, first he don't know how to use the cutlery, second, he saw food courses that he have never tasted. But Joy insist he take something, so he asked to maid to give him orange juice. Steve and his wife finished eating, and joined Dave in the living room. Not long after that, the alarm ranged, indicating someone is at the door. Steve commanded one of his maids to usher the person in.... It was their family doctor, the owner of the hospital where Joy was treated. He had a brown envelope in his hand. "please take a seat" Joy muttered. "is this the test result? She asked. The doctor nod his head positively. "tell me about its content. Positive? Or negative? Joy asked anxiously. ______ 'DAVID' John screamed, as he laid on the bed, in his mum's room. His mum who was seated outside, overheard him..... "who is David? And why are you screaming like this? She asked when she came in. "its nothing ma....i just remembered something" "you scared me....i thought you were seeing ghosts" his mum tittered. "mother, i now remember everything.....i'd tell you why i left this village 19 years ago, but please don't judge me after hearing my own side of the story" John replied. "okay, go on....." his mum said, as she sat beside him, on the bed. _____ ....."content? What do you mean by that honey? Are you hiding something from me? Steve muttered. ____Days ago____ Doctor Olu came to Joy's ward, to examine her. She just woke up, after the stem cell transplant. "oh, madam, you are awake, thank goodness" the doctor muttered happily. He have had carried out another successful transplant, his carrier is really growing positively. "yes doctor, thank God i made it....but where did you get a donor from? Joy asked feebly. " David....the boy who brought you here....is your donor" the doc replied. "but how is that possible? Didn't you say my blood type is the rarest and that 99% of it occurs among relatives? But i'm not related to Dave in anyway" she muttered. "yes ma'am, that also puzzled me, it may be that Dave is somehow related to you...there is only one way to find out;via DNA test" "yes doctor, please carry out the DNA test, i can get you the specimen you need." ****THE PRESENT***** "Thats what happened dear, you know we lost our son 19 years ago, David is 19, i feel this unusual bond with him....i have a big hunch he's our lost son" Joy explained. "no dear, have you forgotten the baby was.............. "hmmmn-hmmmm" Doctor Olu cleared his throat, interupting Steve. "sorry to interupt, but don't you think with me is an evidence to prove who's hunch is right? Olu continued. He handed the envelope over to Mr. Steve, Joy moved closer to get a clearer view of the result, her heart was pounding real fast, her whole body shaking, her eyes gradually scrolled down..... Lo and behold, the result show their DNA to be a perfect match. "david is your son" the doctor muttered, with a big grin. "i have to go now...." he continued. The Steves thanked him with some cool cash. He smiled and walked away. David is confused with the whole scenario. "is it true.....have i been living a life fed with lies? Does this explain mum's attitude towards me? I wish dad is alive, to answer all my questions" Dave thought. "my son.....come and give mama a big hug" mrs Joy muttered excitedly. But Dave's countenance was the opposite of her's. "with all due respect ma'am, you are'nt my my mum....i have my parents. After some minutes, she gave up and laid on her sofa, hoping to sleep off. Just then, she heard a knock on her door. Reluctantly, she stood up to open the door.... Alas! It was steve. She was glad to see him, she wanted huging him, but he held her hands in the air.... "calm down christabel, i need to tell you something" "okay....please come in" "what can i offer you? She asked, when they were both seated. "never mind, am okay" hd paused a while, then continued. "christy...you an i know that this relationship isn't working.....i want to....uhm....i....." "you want to what? Quite? Hell no! I won't let that happen....you are the love of my life, i can't let you go" she interrupted. "please do understand.....and....someone is having my baby" "what!!! She reached for Mourice, held him tightly, and pointed a gun at him, she wanted to kill him, despite the incessant pleadings from Joy. ___ John together with his three friends were coming back from their hunting adventure, today is a bad day, the didn't kill much animals. As they were coming closer the the bridge, John sighted an antelope, he aimed it perfectly and POW he shot it with his crackshot gun. ____ coincidentally, Christabel heard the gunshot, she became scared, she thought someone is out there seeing her. Luckily they were on a bridge, a stream was under them. She threw Mourice in it, heartlessly "he can't survive this" she muttered and Zoooom, she left with her accomplices. "Mouriiiceeeee" Joy wailed. ____ 'TASH' Mourice fell in the stream. John and his friends who were close by, heard the sound. "did you hear that sound? It sounded like something heavy fell into the water, lets check it out, it might be an animal" one of John's friend said. They quickly ran to the stream, alas! It was a human not an animal. Since John didn't have a child, and is not going to have one either, his friends urged him to take the kid home, he was God sent. _____ when christabel and her guys had left, steve together with Joy went down to the stream to search for Mourice, but he was nowhere to be found. "the currents must have swept him away" Steve thought. "i would never forgive you for this, christabel" Joy said, amidst sobs. Steve too was weeping, he managed to console his wife, and they left. ____ John got home, made a little fire and kept mourice beside it, so he would have some warmth. He explained everything to Anibe, and proposed they elope with the child. "but why run away? Anibe asked. "i can't bear seeing you being insulted by every Tom, dick and harry in this village, simply because you are barren....lets leave this village and start a new life with our miracle kid. We can come back in years time, that way, the people would believe he is our son, and that the curse had no power" John explained. Anibe thought of it, she would finally get her respect back, so she concurred. "what shall we name him? She asked. "lets call him Moses, he was taken from water" John replied. "no, what if he grows up and asked why we named him Moses? I suggest we name his David" Anibe said. "okay, as you wish my love". Early in the morning, at down, John took Anibe his wife and David. And that the rescued hostages were at the police headquarters. She was excited, though Anibe isn't concerned with Dave's welfare, she was the only person that came to Angela's mind at that moment. Angela took a bike, heading to Anibe's place, so the both of them can go to the station, hoping to find Dave there. ___ "what have i become? My husband is dead, now the only child who brought happiness to my home is missing or dead by now, and here am i, doing nothing about it. I've indeed sinned against God and Dave, i havn't been a good mum to him. Dear lord, please give me a second chance, that David may be alive so i can shower him with the love and care of a mother" Anibe prayed within herself. She felt sorry for all her actions and was ready to correct all her wrongs, she war ready to be a good mum. "good evening ma" Angela greeted. Anibe was startled, she was too deep in her reverie, to notice the presence of Angela. "uhhh? Angela? For how long have you been here? She asked. "i'm just coming ma...i knocked but you didn't answer, so i came in, since the door wasn't locked" Angela replied. "okay....sit please....this one you are here by this time of the day, hope all is well? "no....i mean yes,... Angela explained her mission. "thank you my daughter, i see you truly love Dave...i just hope he is among the rescued persons" Anibe replied. Angela didn't expect to hear those words from Dave's mum, she had envisaged some harsh attitude. The response from Anibe, kept her heart at ease. "but we can't go today okay? Angela was in support of that idea, she was glad to spend the night with her to be mother-in-law, she had a strong conviction Dave is alive. Angela lent Dave's mum a hand in the kitchen and also with some domestic chores, before they went to bed. ___NEXT DAY___ John woke up early, he was glad to go back to his family. He quickly took his bath, he was having his breakfast when king Francis, his friend came together with Tim. They opted to go with him to Ejule, so he can fetch his wife and child, for Gloria to see them. _____ Angela and Dave's mum were all dressed up and ready to go, when a black Jeep drove into the compound.At first She was frightened because she didn't know of anybody who had such a car. Just then, some men came out of the car, she recognised the King and John, she thought she was seeing ghosts, she took fearful steps closer and touched him, it was then she verified he's not a ghost. She hugged him tightly.... "i missed you..... "i missed you more.....lets go in please, and where is Dave? John muttered. They went in, and Anibe told them Dave is missing, but there is hope he might be at the station right now. On hearing that, John asked the driver to take them there....while on the way, he told Anibe his ordeal with the robbers and how FATE smiled on him. When they arrived the police station, they launched their complain and a constable showed them the room where the rescued hostages were kept. Anxiously, they went in search of Dave, after about 15 minutes into the search, Dave was nowhere to be found. The reported it to the constable, but he only broke their hearts the more. "am sorry but those were the rescued hostages, according to the abductors, they sold some of the victims to nearby nations" the constable replied. Episode 30 ******** Francis' driver brought a bottle of water, at the command of his master. After doing the normal resuscitation exercise, John was revived. That was a relieve, but not on Angela's path, does this mean she won't see David again? She asked herself. King Francis consoled John, his wife and Angela. Telling them that for the meantime, they needed to go home, but he would later make some international contacts, to make sure the case is investigated and Dave is found. They agreed, and left the station. While on the way, Francis urged his driver to speed up, for John needed to rest. There was a slow moving convoy before them, Kasim the driver knew that if he was to obey his master's command, he would have to over take this convoy, which made him to speed up. He drove roughly and overtook the first car, and then the next. Steve got furious, he need to teach this bad driver some lessons. He instructed the leading driver, via a vehicular communication system fixed to the cars, not to let Kasim go. "kai this fiful, wetin i want? Kasim muttered, when the Steve's car blocked his way. Francis and steve alighted almost at the same time, and they were exchanging words. When it got unbearable, John and the others also came down. "you guys should stop this already....we have a big problem before us, yet you are still fighting" John said, referring to Francis. But no, the men didn't stop, none of them was ready to take the blame or accept defeat. Joy and Dave also alighted, hoping to stop Steve from creating a scene. Angela couldn't believe her eyes, could this be David? Is it his twin or just a striking resemblance? She asked herself. 'DAVID! the name escaped her lips. Dave was stunned, someone know him here? He tilted to get a clearer view. He was surprised to see his family, the people he missed so much, they were all standing before him. Is that his dad's ghost or something? Isn't it said that ghosts are dressed in white? He asked himself. Dave found himself running to Angela for a tight hug, he missed her so much. Everybody was confused with the whole scenario. John aslo joined in the hug, while Anibe stood spell bound. "errh....whats going on here" steve asked. "this is my family! Dave replied, excitedly. They did a little introduction, and Steve apologised for creating a scene. But he was glad he did, the action led to something positive. They all drove to John's home, where they would discuss better. When they arrived, John proposed they talk outside, under a tree because the room can't contain the all. The obliged, some were seated on plastic chairs while others, on the car. The drivers were asked to excuse them. "so....dave, ard these the people who rescued you from your abductors? John asked. "dad, is there anything you are hiding from me? Dave replied with a question. John: no, why should i keep secrets from you? Dave: dad, are you my biological father? John:*coughs* why asking? Stevd: ehrrm.. With all due respect Mr. John, we have a DNA test result, which proves you aren't Dave's biological parents, but we..... John wasn't comfortable anymore, he felt uneasy, he was going to disclose a secret he kept for years, what would be dave's reaction if he found out he had been living a life of lie? John got hold of himself, and told them his own side of the story, how he found Dave, etc. Joy also explained their part of the story, to make everything sensible. Dave:dad!!! Why did you hide the truth from me, all this while? John: my son...it was for your good, how would you have felt if i told you we aren't your family and that i have no lead to your parents? Anibe wasn't happy, are they going to take her Dave from her? So she would go back to the barren Anibe of years ago? Hell no! She won't let that happen, she won't let Dave go" she thought silently. ___To be continued___

And that day happens to be Mourice' birthday anniversary, we also plan to have a family re-union party that same day. You are special guests so yot would be present then....after that, we plan what next to do. John: i missed my son so much; i wish i could stay with him for a while, but you missed him more, i can imagine what it feels like to be separated from your child for 19 good years. Angela only stoodby, listening to the conversation, she was glad Dave's biological parents are rich - all her dad ever wanted. Dave too was happy, so this is what he had been missing for 19 long years? Dave only stood up and was pacing around with his hands akimbo, and a devilish grin on his face. That action irritated Peter the more. "so you work here mr. Pete? Its indeed a small world" dave muttered. Peter was angry to his bone, what is this boy doing here? What is he talking about? He even has the guts to reply me? He reached for his phone and called the security number. In a flash, two security men came in, one of them turned to Dave and said "sir you called us? That action infuriated Peter the more, he left the scene angrily. "you can go....its nothing" Dave told them. ___ they days passed by real fast, and tomorrow is going to be his birthday, Dave and his parents took their private jet and were off to Kogi state, to pick their guests.
