Six lecturers of the Delta State
University, Abraka, have been sacked
over various offences, including sexual
harassment of female students.
Their sack came after a disciplinary
committee was set up to investigate
the allegations against them.
The University Governing Council at
97th regular meeting held at the
weekend, recommended their
dismissal having found them
culpable of several offences
including sexual harassment of
female students.
The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of
DELSU, Eddy Agbure, confirmed the
development in a statement, noting
that while six were dismissed, four
others were demoted and received
various queries for gross
misconducts.
The statement added that
investigations revealed that the
sacked lecturers were also involved
in financial extortion for marks,
leaking of examination questions
and other corrupt offences
