You know those little white silica gel packets that come in the box with your brand new heels? I used to toss them in the trash, not until I came across a post online about their usefulness and I decided to try them...

1.Used to preserve jewelries and ornaments:- I don't where jewelries often and I don't have enough time bringing them out of the box all the time for air. I just put a small bag containing silica gels in each box and that has really being helping them from looking old... Infact they are looking all shiny. You can also use them to preserve stuffs like christmas decor that you use once a year.
2.Used to save cell phone from water damage:- I mistakenly dropped my phone a pot of boiling moi moi. It was really bad you know (fine I was reading stories, it's not my fault taking chances has so many suspence). I quickly removed the phone from the boiling water, I removed the simcard and battery, then put the phone and battery in a locked bag filled with silica gels.. left it there for like 4days and it worked perfectly.....
3.Used to protect photos and keep them from moisture:- I learnt this from printest but it is working well so far.. Kept them in my old pics envelope and the pics are looking new again.... I love reading too so I have this loads of books in my home and office... I keep some silica gels in between my books... And that has being keeping my books from smelling five years old...lol
4.Used to keep important documents safe:- Whether you have important documents (birth certificates, social security cards, etc.) stored in files in a desk, cabinet, box, or envelopes, you can add a few packets of silica gel to keep them protected. It's working great for my documents you know...
I got other useful ness on internet like...
5.Used in each container in your basement, garage,or storage unit to absorb excess moisture:- someone said she use them everywhere in her basements and it has being working perfectly.... I don't have a basement but will try that when I have one. Although I tried it in my store room and am getting a good result from it...
6.Re-generating your packets:- someone also said you can reuse these packets once they are full of moisture!! She says “We save our silica gel packets too! They will collect moisture and quit working, though, so we regenerate them in a 200 degree oven for about two hours and store them in an
airtight Ziploc bag until we need them.”... Although I also learnt that you can keep them in the sun for hours instead of the oven.....
Now ladies you can see the usefulness of these silica gels, guess you won't dispose them in trash anymore....
And guys... I don't know if you see them in your shoes packet but you can easily get them from the ladies around you and use them in the aspect of their usefulness to you....
Have a great weekend....
