FROM THE PEN OF HAKALIMA DANNY
We could have talked
had we more words to say
we could have spoken
had our first words not fallen
on deaf ears
Comfortably they sit in their
swivel chairs
looking at us with expectant eyes
expecting us to say more
but we shall not speak
for all that ever needed to be said
has been spoken
and so we sit back
and fold our hands
staring back at them
letting silence reign.
If they could not hear our
voices
they shall learn to understand
silence
at times
greatest words are spoken in silence
We are pilgrims
passerbys on this earth
for we have no abiding city
and when we are gone,
when we be no more
our voices
shall forever speak in silence.
We are going somewhere
to where no man returns
but leaving you behind a legacy
and this we know for sure
when old age takes us to all eternity
our voices shall forever speak
and even after a thousand generation
our works shall forever shout
BUT IN SILENCE
For all eternity
the silent echos of our voices
will be heard
even in far away lands
FOR SILENCE WILL SPEAK.
