Smartphones, Android especially have become the latest trend in this decade we live in. Most people have experienced that situation in which your smartphone begins to run very slow after a few months or a year of using it.
Have you been in that dilemma in which you notice a significant reduction in the efficiency and performance of your device? That’s why I am taking my time to create this article, giving you insights on the possible causes that lead to that situation.
In his article, I will explain 5 common reasons why your phone loses its touch and efficiency few months after usage, thus running very slow.
1. OS Upgrades
Google, the developer of the Android operating system, an open source program development platform have since the inception of the Android OS, dedicated their time and resources into frequently releasing new updates and designs to the mobile operating.
Usually, Google releases OS updates every year and the latest version coming launched is the Android 8 Oreo OS. and the latest version is the Android 8 Oreo.
So let’s take for example, a device is launched on Android 6 Marshmallow OS. Later on, Android 7 Nougat OS update was rolled out for the phone. It is imperative to not here that if the new Android OS is installed on that device there will most definitely be a reduction in speed and efficiency of that device. I heard someone asking why! This is due to the fact that the new OS was created with certain hardware specs requirements. Since it is a new update, the phone might not have the required capability to efficiently handle that new system update. So you understand how this works now, right!
However, minor updates are okay as they will not create any significant change in efficiency of the device. But a leap from one Android OS to a new updated one, lol. Be prepared to face the sluggishness.
2. App Updates
Some apps like Facebook, Twitter etc usually require just a little storage capacity on your device – Facebook was just 35MB when I downloaded it for the first time.
However, the problem begins when updates are being rolled out incessantly thereby requiring you to keep on updating tutorials to latest available versions. As you keep on updating the app, so will it continue to consume the storage capacity on your device for every update you make. Facebook is now approximately 300MB on my device. So this apps which were lightweight initially now begin to use up lots of RAM and CPU due to the increase in the file size of the app.
My advice to you is to Uninstall any app that you fill is consuming excessive megayite, then restore again as a fresh app.
3. Background Running Apps
Most times people tend to neglect background apps. Believe me or not, you have almost 80% more apps installed on your devices than when you first got it. Just go to your phone’s settings and have a brief look at all of your downloaded apps.
This problem arises when some apps keep running in the background without launching it. There are many apps like email services, messaging apps which are always active. These apps use CPU and RAM, which impacts negatively on your phone’s performance.
So, make sure to disable or uninstall the apps which consume lots of RAM and CPU, switch to a static wallpaper and say goodbye to live wallpapers.
