Audrey Timms
Vianney:
welcome Audrey, it's quite an honour having you here ;)
Audrey: Thanks for the interview. It's an honor :)
Vianney:
well, lets start with the super captivating story "UNFULFILLED PROMISES", is it your first story??
Audrey: No, it isn't the first story I've written but it's the first I've publicized
Vianney.
What motivated you into putting up such an exciting masterpiece??
Audrey: Quite frankly, at the risk of sounding highly spiritual, my motivation is the Holy Spirit. He gives me writing ideas.
Vianney.
Can you tell us a little more about yourself??
, Audrey: I'm from Edo State. I'm the second child. I have an elder brother and a younger brother and sister. I'm married to a Plateau man.
Vianney:.
What were you like at school??,
Audrey I was a very quiet person at school. I didn't talk much in class except with friends.
Vianney:
were you good at English,
Audrey: Yes, I was but I was better at literature.
Vianney:
what are your ambitions for your writing career?,
Audrey: I hope to some day win the award for the Nobel Prize for Literature. But for now, i want to be a writer whose stories inspire people.
Vianney:.
How many books have you written so far?,
Audrey: I have written eight books but some got lost along the way. I only have four with me now.
Vianney:.
Where can we buy them?,
Audrey: I only have one out presently which is Unfulfilled Promises. You can buy it from me but very soon it'd be on okada books, amazon etc. Twisted, my other story will be out by January 2015 and the one I'm writing presently, Letting Go, should be out by December.
Vianney:.
Returning to the story "unfulfilled promises",which Actor/Actress would you like to see playing the lead role?,
Audrey: I really don't know 'cause I don't watch nollywood movies. Well, used to but not anymore 'cause my husband doesn't like them. However, some readers suggested Majid Michel and Yvonne Okoro for the lead roles.
Vianney:.
How much research did you do before putting up the story?
Audrey: Well, at first when I wrote it, I didn't carry out much research but when I was editing it, had to research on some things like Leukemia, California etc
Vianney:.
Do you write full time or part time,
Audrey: I'm a part-time writer for now because I work but I hope to be a full-time writer soon.
Vianney:.
So tell us the secret behind your stories, do you work to an outline or do you just write to where an idea takes you?,
Audrey: Hmm...both. When a story comes to me, sometimes I write it down in order not to forget but when I start writing, the outline goes into flames because new ideas come in and I continue or re-write the story as new ideas and twists come. Sometimes, I have an outline of a story till the end but most times I only have the beginning, then maybe the middle but the end comes as I write along.
Vianney:
So what's the hardest thing about writing?
Audrey: The hardest part about writing to me is actually 'writing' itself. There are times when ideas flood my head but to sit down and write becomes a problem. Well, I blame that on a particular flaw that I have though- procrastination!
Vianney:
Do you ever get writer's block?
Audrey: Yeah, sometimes but it's rare though. My major problem is putting off writing to do other things even when I have like a million ideas. I don't think I can call that writer's block.
Vianney:.
Do you read much, If so who are your favourite authors?,
Audrey: I read a lot. I make sure I read a book per week. It's my way of relaxing. I love a lot of authors- Judith Mcnaught/Jude Deveraux, Danielle Steele, Lynne Graham, Sydney Sheldon, James Hardley Chase, John Grisham, Johanna Lindsey, coolval etc
Vianney:
So how can you be contacted?
Audrey: My email address is
[email protected]. You can also get my books by just sending me a mail,.
Vianney:
wow, thanks so much for your time.
Audrey: Thanks for inviting me over :)
