[b]What an interesting experience!
This evening, as we returned to Lagos from our visit to Southsouth and Southeast regions, we found out we were on the same flight with former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State.
He spotted us at the arrival area waiting for our luggage, he noticed our SOLO uniform and came over to ask about SOLO.
He was so proud of the SOLO Venture and what we are trying to do. He asked for a group photograph with us. We offered him a complimentary device which he declined. He insisted on buying a SOLO Phone for himself to support us. He also wanted to know if we're getting any help from the government. He told us about how he was the first governor to patronise the first indigenous car assembly plant in Nigeria. He felt he had a duty to support that venture. We were truly moved by the encounter.
Peter Obi was a very successful governor and a seasoned banker with proven professional banker. His humility, not only with us but with everyone today was a lesson for us all. He flew commercial with us and was in economy class. He turned down any major entourage or escorts at the tarmac. A cynic will see this as a typical politician working the crowd but this guy's reputation as "People's Governor" preceded him.
It was truly an honor and a small but important reminder that there are still many good ones around!
Here is a salute to the People's Governor!!!
