Liverpool go top after
thrashing Spurs. In 2014, LFC took top spot
of the BPL after a wonderful 4-0
demolishing of Tottenham
Hotspur at Anfield. Brendan Rodgers' side got off
to a flyer when Younes Kaboul
scored an own-goal two
minutes in before Luis Suarez
netted his 29th goal of the
season midway into the first half. The Reds continued with the
onslaught following the break
as Philippe Coutinho and
Jordan Henderson added their
names to the scoresheet to
complete the rout. Everton win brings up
Anfield landmark... Liverpool brought up their
3,000th league point at Anfield
with a 1-0 victory over arch-
rivals Everton in 2008. Fernando Torres' 28th goal of
the season after seven
minutes gave the Reds a
narrow win to secure their grip
on fourth place in the league. Goalkeeper P. Reina was
untroubled in his 100th league
game for the club and
produced his 54th cleansheet-
beating Ray Clemence's 53 in
100 league outings.
