The man was bored. The realization of that struck him hard. Nothing could be as boring and stressful as being on leave when your wife is away on a business trip, leaving you alone with your 7years old stubborn kid.
He'd thought of going out, to the bar or anywhere he could shade off the boredorm but it wasn't a nice idea.
He didn't want to take the kid along as much as he can't leave him leave him home alone so the best thing is to stay.
They'd did alot of time killing together; they'd washed the dishes, prepared the day's meal, played ping pong, played computer games, had siesta and now it was twilght.
The man was alone in the living room, eyes glued to the television. Hell knew his concentration was far off. For a moment he felt Jack's absence.
"jack! Jack?? Jack??!!!"
he called out.
silence. No response.
He waited two minutes then called again, this time the kid answered from the inner room.
"what are you up to?"
" no good dad"
The boy replied. His voice sounded more pronounced, he was on his way to the living room.
He was holding a book. He sat next to his dad on the same chair.
" i found this in your library"
"yeah. Bought it a week ago" his father replied.
"have you read it?"
The man cast a look at his son then simply said 'no'
"good"
said Jack, smiling.
"what?"
"lets read it"
"you do the reading while i do the listening"
"no dad, the other way round"
"Jack i'm tired"
"you promised to make these three days worthwhile"
The man exhaled.
He collected the book. Jack edged closer, resting his head to his father's chest.
The book was titled LETHAL, below the title was a sentence printed in lower cases,
"the depths of human ingenuity"
The cover page showed a masked sniper to the right of the page, he was in the position to fire.
Below him were people running in a disorganized manner, explosions seemed to have rocked the vicinity.
There was chaos!
on the left end of the page was a lady dressed in a black body suit, she held a radio on her left hand and a semi-automatic pistol on the other hand.
Sweaty face, messy hair, there were traces of blood on her face.
The man opened the book...
