[b][color =brown]The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued certificates to the five newly-registered political parties in the country.[/color]
The certificates were issued to them in Abuja on Friday.
The five new parties are:
[color =blue]Young Progressive Party (YPP),
Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA),
New Generation Party of Nigeria (NGP),
All Democratic Peoples Movement (ADPM)
Action Democratic Party (ADP).[/color]
This brings the number of registered political parties in the country to [color =blue]45.[/color]
Adedeji Soyebi, national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, had disclosed that 95 associations had applied for registration as political parties.
He said the commission however approved five applications which met the constitutional requirements for registration.[/b]
