Important NOTICE regarding N-Power TAX.
N-Power commenced the 2017 Application on the 13th of June, 2017. N-Power Tax, a new category, was introduced to enlist and train N-Power Volunteer as Community Liaison Tax Officers under the Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS).
VAIDS is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Joint Tax Board that encourages non-compliant taxpayers to voluntarily declare their correct income and assets and pay the appropriate tax,as well as widen the tax net.
N-Power will select 7,500 qualified N-Power Volunteers who will undertake tax promotion, document review, record keeping, tax esquires response, customer management, report writing, among others, under VAIDS.
On the 29th of June 2017, the acting president Prof, Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, issued an Executive Order instituting VAIDS.
VAIDS has a lifespan of 9 months commencing on the 1st of July, 2017. As a result, the N-Power Tax category will operate an expedited selection process. In connection with this, all applicants are invited to note:
First, the 2 weeks extension of the N-Power application does not apply to N-Power Tax. As of the 14th of July, application for N-Power Tax closed with 229,245 applicants.
Secondly, the designated physical interviews for N-Power Tax, as required by the Federal Ministry of Finance, will commence immediately and run contemporaneously with the assessments.
As such, Applicants who have already written their assessment test and passed may soon be invited for physical interviews.
Other N-Power Tax applicants will be notified to write their test starting on Saturday, July 15th up till Wednesday July 19th 2017.
As general rule, only N-Power applicants whose applications are validated against the BVN records will be invited to proceed to assessment.
