This page contains a simple tutorial on how to see photos on Facebook via FB Lite when using Facebook free mode also known as Freebasic.
Freebasics was introduced in Nigeria about 2 years in a bid to assist internet users who cannot afford the costly data subscriptions. With freebasics, you can login and chat on Facebook as well as visit some specific websites without having any data plan or airtime on your phone. However, the major drawback here is you won’t be able to see photos on Facebook when using freebasics.
That’s where I come in. I will teach you how to see photos on Facebook when using freebasics via Facebook Lite app.
Facebook lite app is lightweight, smaller version of facebook app. It has a faster load time, saves battery as well as data usage. It is also well optimized to work in areas with poor network reception.
Currently, only Airtel and 9Mobile support freebasic internet in Nigeria. MTN and Glo are yet to join the train.
Without further ado, here are the requirements you need to meet to view Facebook photos on free mode.
*Requirements
Android phone
9Mobile or Airtel SIM card without airtime or active data plan
The Facebook Lite app; you can install it from playstore or simply by clicking here.
2G network service is needed but 3G or 4G will serve you better.
*Procedures to See Photos on Facebook Freebasic Free Mode
After downloading and installing the FB lite app, open it and log in (if it's your first time using it)
After about a minute, close the app
Switch off your Data
Now head over to your phone Settings => Locate App => Scroll down to Facebook Lite => Tap it, then clear the data of the Facebook lite.
Next, switch on your data and launch your Facebook Lite app
Enter your login details again
Once you tap login, you will notice that it won't load when trying to login. Simply exit the fb lite app and open it again. It should load this time. Once you are logged in this time, you will be able to browse in data mode for free. Images and photos will be loaded quickly and you will be able to to see them in Facebook Free Mode (freebasics) You will also see an option for switching back to free mode if you want which of course you don’t.
