Continue reading if you want to see how to clear your stretch marks and prevent them from appearing again.
Egg whites
If you think eggs whites are only for bodybuilders, well not any longer. Eggs are high in protein and according to clinical studies protein are excellent in dealing with stubborn stretch marks. To do this, remove the white part from the egg, slightly batter the egg white using a fork and apply a substantial amount of egg white onto affected areas of your skin. Leave it dry and rinse it with water. Then, moisturize the area with olive oil. Do this at least thrice a day.
Potato Juice
Potato juice contains vitamins and minerals that foster growth and restoration of skin cells.
Cut a medium-sized potato into thick slices.
Take one of the potato pieces and rub it gently on the stretch marks for a few minutes. Make sure the starch from the potato covers the affected area.
Allow the potato juice to dry for some time and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Use glycolic acid
Glycolic acid used on stretch marks can increase collagen production, as making your skin more elastic overall. As an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), it’s in the same family of compounds often used in chemical skin peels.
Glycolic acid is safe to put on your skin during pregnancy.
Take extra care to keep skin that you’re treating with glycolic acid out of the sun.
Almond oil
Almond is an excellent source of vitamin-E which adds to the development of the skin’s elastic. It also improves its texture. All you need to do is soak raw almond in milk until it is soft. Next, crush them to smooth paste and blend raw milk with the paste. Blend well and gently apply onto the area. Leave it to dry and then rinse it with plain water. Apply almond oil at bedtime so that your skin gets sufficient time to absorb it. Daily application will fade your stretch marks to a large extent.
Lemon juice
This is an effective remedy for stretch marks thanks to its acidic nature as well as natural bleaching properties. It can reduce the redness of the scars and make them less visible.
Cut a fresh lemon and squeeze the juice and massage it onto the affected areas.
Leave it on the skin for 10-15 minutes, before rinsing with warm water.
Repeat the lemon remedy every day until the stretch marks are completely lightened.
Egg Oil
Egg Oil if used regularly from the first trimester, can prevent pregnancy related stretch marks from appearing.
Gently massage Egg Oil over the entire abdomen including sides and lower abdomen until the pubic area, twice a day starting from the 8th week of pregnancy until 6 months after delivery.
Water
The best way to reduce the effects of stretch marks is to tackle them from the inside. If you take 8-10 glasses of water daily, you will reduce the effects of the stretch marks. In simple terms, the prominence of stretch marks on the skin will diminish. In addition to drinking plenty of water, a well-balanced diet will also help restore the lost elasticity of your skin and make those unwanted stretch marks disappear.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is effective in the treatment of many skin problems. Its healing and soothing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks. There are ways to apply it;
-You can directly rub aloe vera gel on the affected skin area, leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse the skin with warm water.
-Another option is to make a mixture with one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, oil from 10 vitamin E capsules and oil from five vitamin A capsules.
-Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process daily.
Use a moisturizer
A study comparing herbal moisturizers found that people who lotioned-up daily showed significant improvement in skin appearance and elasticity.
Think of it this way: if your skin has a lot of stretching to do, it’s less likely to tear and create stretch marks if it’s hydrated.
Use lotion on new stretch marks, or on areas where you’re worried about getting them in the future. Though using lotion on old stretch marks may still improve their appearance, it’s probably not as effective as using them on fresh ones.
