A young boy has found himself in more trouble than he he can handle after he was found out to have stabbed another student.
A young school student has been dragged to court yesterday over a heinous crime.
The boy, a 19-year-old was in court for allegedly stabbing a schoolmate, Sihle Mngwangwa, to death on Tuesday during a break time fight over a girl.
According to Daily Sun SA, the boy appeared in the Port St Johns Magistrates Court where his murder case was postponed to next week for a formal bail application.
However, another tragedy struck again on Wednesday when Zimkhitha Pasi the girl the victim and accused were allegedly fighting over, killed herself by hanging.
The body of Zimkhitha Pasi (19) was found by an eight-year-old relative.
Police spokesman Captain Mduduzi Godlwana confirmed an inquest docket was opened after the suicide.
On Tuesday her boyfriend, Sihle Mngwangwa (22), was stabbed to death at Gcinumthetho Senior Secondary School.
Zimkhitha, Sihle and the accused were all in Grade 10.
Zimkhitha’s distraught cousin, Nkosiyoxolo Majali, said the family didn’t know where the money to bury her would come from.
“We have buried so many loved ones in the past three years. She didn’t leave a note, but we all know why she did it,” she said.
It’s believed Zimkhitha snapped after witnessing her lover stab her boyfriend to death. Her family said when she returned home from school that day she was distant and barely ate.
“We didn’t even know about the boyfriend situation until the stabbing and her suicide. It’s all been too much for the family, especially for her 71-year-old gogo who was first on the scene after her body was found,” said a relative.
School principal Sizwe Qatyana said pupils were coping well after receiving counselling from the education department.
