A Pastor finished his sermon one day and concluded the service by saying “now brethren, I want you all to go home and meditate on the words you have heard today, the next time we meet, I’m going to be preaching to you about Liars and the consequences of lying”, he then went on to add “as preparation for my sermon on ‘liars’, I would like you all to read Mark 17 when you get home”.
The following Sunday, the pastor rose to begin his sermon. As he mounted the pupil to address the congregation, he looked at everyone and said “as promised last week, I am going to be talking about liars and the act of lying this week; now, before I start, how many of you read Mark 17 as I instructed you to?”
To the young pastors surprise almost everyone in church raised their hands, the entire choir and even some elders in church also had their hands up.
Laughing his heart out the pastor said “now put your hands down, this makes things easier for me, I told you I will be talking about liars, all of you who raised up your hands are the very people I am going to be talking about today because the book of Mark has only 16 chapters!!!
One word for this young pastor?
