It came as a shock, she can't believe he would betray her in a such a manner. She could have sworn that her lovely husband would never cheat on her much less with her best friend. April has the perfect marriage that people envy. She cherish her husband more than anything in the world and in turn her husband Hillary respects her for whatever its worth. She wakes up each day with a fulfilled smile for her days are promising but her once shinny and bright day has turned to darkness as she realized her husband has been sleeping with her best friend. As the phone beeped with a message alert, he yelled from the bathroom, honey could you read out the message for me? Oh yeah! There was that much trust.
As she proceed to read the message, she was surprised it was from Sharon. What could Sharon be texting her husband for so early in the morning? She wondered. The contents of the message was how Hillary was good in the sack and how much she anticipated their next time. It came as a blow and all she could do was to scream cause it was too much for her to hold in. He ran out of the bathroom asking, "what is it, what is wrong? In anger she asked, " how long as this been going on? He couldn't understand her, "how long has what been going on? he asked back in confusion. " Answer me", she said with fury. He couldn't phantom what was wrong but he knew it had something to do with the text message. He collected the phone from her and checked it. What he saw left him in shock. He couldn't lie or deny it as he realized the party is over. He looked up at her, she was already fuming with rage. "A while" he answered with remorse. She broke down in tears and asked why? "I'm sorry" he replied. "Being sorry is not the point here, I asked you why? How could you do this to us? With my best friend. "I'm sorry" he said again. What is it? she asked. Tell me. What is it that she will give you that I can't give you in ten times fold. "Nothing" he replied. Please forgive me. I give you everything, I breathe for you, I practically live for you and you could do this to me. Aaaah! She said. "Baby please I'm sorry, forgive me. I don't know what came over me as he went down on his knees. "Of course, you don't", she said as she stomped out of the room. Few weeks passed and they are still not talking. Hillary has pleaded with everything but April is still unforgiven. "We can not continue like this, you avoiding me like a plague", he said. Can we at least talk? I'm too tired to talk" she said. "But you were never too tired to talk with me" he said. "That was then, times have changed" she replied. "I don't want us to change, I miss the way we used to be" he said. "Please forgive me, I'm truly sorry, I regret everything I did. I"ll do anything to make you forgive me. Sharon, I will stay away from her" he said. "Like you have any other choice, you will never see Sharon again. Sharon is dead to you and me. Excuse me, she said and left." I'm really sorry I hurt you" he said to himself.
TWO DAYS LATER
April phone rang, as she picked up, the caller told her Hillary has been involved in a car accident and has been rushed to the hospital. She quickly grabbed her car key and drove off to the hospital. Her heart was racing fast, she couldn't bear the thought of loosing him. She met the doctor and he told her that the accident was severe but luckily he had no internal injuries but he was in a coma. "Doctor, tell me the truth, will he be alright? She asked. "He will be fine, he lost a lot of blood but he will be alright. He is responding to treatment, all you need to do is to be strong for him, he needs you" said the doctor. "Okay doctor" she said. "He will soon be moved from the intensive care unit and you will be able to see him" he said. "Thank you doctor" she said. "You're welcome" he replied
A DAY AFTER
she was sitting by his side, praying to God to save her husband. Then she saw his hand move and slowly he opened his eyes. She jumped up from the bed and called out happily. Hillary, you're awake. Thank God. Let me get the doctor. As she made to leave, he held her hand and said: "Baby, please forgive me, I'm so sorry I hurt you". "What are you saying" she asked. "I begged God not to allow me die without you forgiving me" he said. "Don't talk about death. What could I have done if I had lost you, I can't imagine a world without you. I have already forgiven you and please forgive me for not telling you sooner" she said. "Thank you" he said. "Now get well fast and get off this bed, I've misses you" she said. "Yes ma'am", he replied. She laughed. I've missed that your laughter" he said. Really! She said mischievously. Let me go get the doctor, I'll be right back, she said and left then Hillary said to himself "I promise to be the best husband in the world, never to make her sad, nor cry or hurt. I vow to be faithful, honest and loyal" I just love her so much
