Recall some time back, Facebook launched a new version of Facebook Messenger dubbed Messenger Kids. It was first released for Amazon Fire tablets and iOS devices.

Android users were left out but good news now is it is now available for Android devices.

Facebook Messenger kids is a version of the same app specifically designed for kids within the age range of 6 to 12.

Features of the Facebook Messenger Kids includes messaging, one-on-one video calls with mask, kids stickers, GIFs, frames and emojis.

Features that have been removed from the original Messenger app make it suitable for kids include the in-app purchases and Hide options. This will give parents more control over who their kids chat with.

To start using Facebook Messenger, a do Facebook account or a phone number for registration is not needed. Parents can simply use their profiles to verify the Kids account and can also check up what is going on through the regular Messenger app on their phones.

Whenever a kid blocks a contact or does something inappropriate, the parent or guardian who verified the kid will get a notification from Facebook on their own phone. They can report this to Facebook and in return, Facebook applies the appropriate solution.
