Popular social media platform, Facebook is currently working on adding a downvote button to posts. This has been a feature most users on Facebook have been clamoring for.

I am sure most of us have come across some posts on Facebook that we do not like. We intend to show our dislike but we cannot, except we use the sad or angry emoji buttons.

With this new update that will be rolled out soon, Facebook users will be able to downvote any post they do not like. This will be a win-win situation for Facebook and its platform users since Facebook will benefit by eliminating the rate of fake news, useless and hateful comments. The platform will also become more friendly, giving users the opportunity to express their thoughts and comments exactly the way they want.

However, please note that the downvotes feature is not going to directly mean “dislike”, just like the upvote and downvote buttons on reddit. Nah, not like that.

That leads us to the question; How does the Facebook Downvote Button work..

HOW IT WORKS
We all know where the Like button is located on a Facebook post or comment. Yea, the one with the thumbs up button. That’s around where the downvote button will be located.

Whenever you tap on it, the downvote button will show additional reporting options like “Offensive”, “Misleading”, and “Off Topic”. This will help you choose the best option to suit your feeling for the post.

Facebook revealed that the test will affect about 5% of Android users who have “English” set as the default language in the app.

Please note that as for now, the downvote button will only appear on public Page posts. It will not show on Groups posts or individual posts.

Do you like the post? Kindly share to educate others...
