Cassie walked quickly, making space in the crowded stairs with her hands as she left MCB 301 class with a slight headache. The jargons used there were still screaming on her head, as advice from her seniors were dancing around her brain. 'Take the course seriously oh, people dey carry the course wella' 'Hmn, you go work ehn, you go do practical til 9pm.' 'The work hard gan,' 'Our HOD wicked gan, him dey fail students oh, no enter him trap oh!' She left the stairs separating Microbiology from Biochemistry and headed straight to the bus stop, briefly stopping to read the news pasted on Maxwell Newsboard. She then turned and moved out of BOOC and called a bike. 'SUB bus-stop,' 'Forty naira,' Aha, oga, from here to there na forty naira? There is God oh! Abeg if you no wan.... She walked away, leaving his mouth hanging.'Useless olo kada' she muttered as she walked towards the bus stop, only relieved that she was done for the day. As she got to the bus-stop, she heard someone call her name. 'Cassie! Cassie, wait!' She could have aited, but seeing an army of students almost flying to the bus made her rethink. She hurried and opened the front seat and hopped in, hoping that the scramble for seats will make her caller the chance to speak to her. And it did. He ran towards her, panting and sweating. 'Cassie mi! How far now? You no even check me after the class as we agreed.' 'Woo, its not like that jare, that course wey I tell you don dey jam headache scatter my brain.' 'Eeyah, take it easy oh! Maybe na because today dey hot,' 'I go see you for evening be that!' He finally ended the chat, casting a wry smile at her while she blushed a bit. 'Ok, don't forget to bring that book.' 'Yes ma!' He replied, mockingly saluting her before he left. She watched him, Ade, walk away stylish, as his little as5 swayed side by side. It was odd and she knew it, but one of the things that made her fall in love with him was his as5. Most often it was the other way round, and while he was kinda cute, his as5 was the game changer for her. 'Maintenance!' ' O wa sir,' she answered by reflex as her daydreaming about Adedayo ended. She stepped out of the bus, paid the man and walked quickly along the bush path, her headache miraculously disappeared by her day dreaming. As she entered her room in Maintenance, she stopped and stared at what the person in front of her wore.

"Comfort!" 'Ehen, see as you shout my name like say Dog bite you, you never see worse.' 'This girl ehen, na God go save you!' 'Amen!' Comfort was slightly shorter than Cassie, fair skinned like her and had a sexy waist, combined with a sweet butt and a good 'frontage'. She however, wore a tight mini gown which fell just short of her privates, and leggings to complete the clothes she wore. She was applying her make-up when Cassie arrived. 'Comfort, e ma pa Tunji Oh! Don't kill that guy for his parents! See whether you wear, even impotent man go get "O" on top these clothes!' She continued to talk, closing the door behind her 'Abeg, Don't start with that yeye way you dey use spoil my language. Abi you wan preach to me like Courage.' Courage was the third and last roommate in the room. All three of them are orphans, although Cassie's parents were rich before they died, so Money-wise, she did not suffer. Comfort and Courage found their way somehow through school up til now. 'I wan make Tunji shine eye on wetin im dey spend money on, so that he go charge wella for me when we do 'janglova' 'Hmnn... small, small oh. Na so you do leave Shittu for Shefiu and Then drop Shefiu for Tunji. Now you dey carry Tunji rock floor barely a month after dating, ehen,Comfort, be careful oh!' Cassie advised in a motherly manner. 'She won't listen, Cassie, so don't bother,' Courage said while entering into the room. She eyed Comfort for a while, soaking in the cloth she wore before uttering 'Ashewo' 'Reverend Sister, abeg leave me go monastery!' See as you look, na agbero go dey do "siii, siii" For you now, you go dey vex. Na them I dress for? Dem be Tunji? 'This Tunji no go kill you.' 'Amen, Alleluia o, Amen!' Cassie chuckled at Comfort sarcasm as she wonder how they( Comfort and Courage) managed to stay in the same room for a year without a fight. 'Such contrasting characters' She said to herself as they argued on. Abeg, I dey go 'Guess' with Tunji, shey you hear Cassie. Comfort said, bringing her back to reality. Hope he is coming with his car, abi you go meet am for im house for Asherifa? Courage asked. Reverend Sister, wetin I do you? See you cloth dey wear you. 'That's not fair, Comfort. Courage's cloth is okay', Cassie said, as she looked at the gown her third roommate wore. It was a long gown, which reached the toe of her foot but still was catchy enough to look nice and not out-dated. 'She even try today', Comfort said, while Courage looked on, eyeing her. As Courage went to her bed, a knock came through.

'Who is that?' Cassie asked. Ade poked his head from from the door. 'Hello sweety.' Cassie smiled but answered him casually, as Comfort and Courage kept themselves busy. Ade walked towards her confidently and smiled, 'Here is the book you asked me for.' Cassie face transformed to that of Joy as Comfort and Courage looked a bit surprised at her. 'Thanks.' she gushed out at Ade. 'Na wa o, na on top book you dey do like this?' Comfort shot at her.

Wetin concern you? Cassie shot back. Na my business abeg. 'Better guys dey bring jewelry and other things give their babes, na book you dey find.' 'Not all girls are the same.' Courage spoke up. 'Tell am oh! As if she be guide to how persin suppose behave.' 'Tah! Make I hear word. Tunji go bring better thing.' 'Courage, where are you going?' Cassie asked, noticing that her books were inside a bag and she was dressed to leave the room. 'I have a class by 6, so I want to leave early.' 'But its just 4.30.' Ade found his voice to say. 'Hmnn, you no sabi Courage my dear, na 8pm she go come back. Always going to the library as if her boyfriend dey there.' Comfort started. 'Ehen, e no better the one wey you go go, come come back by 10.' Courage shot back. Comfort was about to reply heran when another knock came through and Tunji, dressed in a T-shirt and Jean Trousers came in. 'Hi love.' He said.

Comfort ran towards him like a magnet, as Cassie and Courage watched. Courage eyed Tunji for a bit before disapprovingly facing her books, while Cassie and Ade continued their talk. 'Xup Cassie.' Tunji said fluently, as Cassie formed 'fake blushes'. 'Fine boy, how your side?' She commented while shaking his outstretched hands. He also greeted Ade, before saying a quick hi to Courage. It was evident that Courage disliked him. Comfort applied her eye lashes and quickly dragged Tunji away. 'See your girls later.' Tunji managed to say before he was dragged away by Comfort. 'Courage, what do you have against Tunji?' Cassie asked her obviously busy roommate. 'I don't have anything against him, he just looks a bit fishy.' 'And a bit untrue.' Ade added. Hmn, Ade, do you know him? 'Not that well, but I have seen him around my hostel. He has this carriage like that of a 'yahoo' boy and I don't trust him. Just hope Comfort knows what she is doing.' 'Ok o. I see him as a cool guy.' 'As cool as me?' Ade asked with a tinge of jealousy. 'Nooo, my love, I only have eyes for you. You are the coolest guy I know.' 'Ok, loverbirds, I don dey waka. Close door before una begin dey smooch unaself for room.' Ade opened his mouth wide as Cassie quickly sent her roomie out of the room, locked the door and walked back to Ade. 'What was that about?' 'Don't mind her, she always think that once a guy and his girlfriend are alone in a place, sex is bound to happen. Abi you wan smooch me?' 'Lol.' He replied but his body language said otherwise. 'I don't mind a kiss though,' he said and moved to kiss Cassie. A knock came through the door To be continued

Cassie wanted to ignore it and was going to hold Ade's bum- bum when the knock came in again, pissing off both of them. 'Who wants to break the door?' "Am Unclad oh!". Cassie said, obviously trying to scare the person away. "Jesus!" 'Cassie, how many minutes did I leave here and you are Unclad already.' Courage's voice streamed in. Cassie rushed to open the door, while Ade was shaking his head, knowing that the fun has ended. 'Ehen! So you hot reach that level? Na God talk say make I forget my biro.' Courage said as she entered and eyed Ade. 'No, its not like that, I wanted to scare the person by saying that am Unclad. Abi I resemble person wey just 'sharpaly' remove cloth?' 'Half of your bosoms are showing.' Courage replied while picking her biro. 'Sorry for spoiling your show.' She mockingly apologised to Aden then she walked out. 'I have to be going. 'Ade suddenly said as Cassie readjusted her cloth. 'Why now, she has left, let's talk a bit.' She offered, but he declined politely, mentioned something about a rehearsal he was to go for and then went away. Cassie spent the next hour wondering what could have happened, while taking a sneak look at the book Ade got for her. She then took a look at herself. For a lady like herself, she was not doing bad. Her parents, who owned a large construction firm before they died, made a will to pass every of their shares to her, so that their hold on the company won't be lost. Despite the many appealing offers from other shareholders, she refuse to sell the shares, even when the company recorded some losses. It was all down to the determination of her lawyer ( her parents lawyer to be precise) that she still held the company in her grasp. Her parents wealth, coupled with her lovely body that had a waist- line that guys died for, a sizeable backyard and frontage, sexy hips and a beautiful face to complete it, made guys chase her everywhere. Her coursemates, her senior students in school, other guys from other departments. Even a popular musician tried his luck at her. All failed, until she met Ade. She remembered meeting him in the library, on a particular seat day after day. He spoke intelligently and bidded his time by been friends with her. They gisted and flowed as the chemistry was strong between them. When Ade proposed a relationship, she could not say no. As she thought of all this, Courage entered into the room. With a man.

Cassie looked at the guy ( or man), whose face and features told the story of an Igbo guy who hustles and then faced Courage who dropped her books. 'Kenneth, this is one of my roomies, her name is Cassie.' 'Cassie, meet Kenneth.' 'Hello, Cassie.' Kenneth said, extending his large hand to her for a handshake. 'Hi, Ken.' She replied, smiling back which resonated to a smile from Ken. 'He is cute sha.' She thought loudly while looking at his clothes. Ken then excused himself out of the room, leaving Courage to her roommate. Cassie eyed her keenly for almost an hour, while Courage uncomfortably cooked indoime and ate. While eating, she still noticed the stare. 'Cassie!' 'Courage!' She had said nothing but her eyes told Courage all her mouth wanted to say. 'He is a friend.' 'Its a lie, Courage. Haba! If na Comfort bring guy come now, you go talk another thing.' 'Abeg no bring comparisions between me and Comfort. Can't I bring a friend to my place?'

'Where did you meet your 'man- friend'?' Cassie asked. 'You are beginning to sound like you are my mom. Abeg free me.' 'Reverend Sister, I greet you.' When Courage did not answer, Cassie moved closely and whispered something to her ear. 'Cassie, you don kolo, which kind thought be that one? Someone wey I just meet for library two weeks ago.' 'Ehen, I don get the answer I wan hear. But come oh, two weeks too short na! You no even allow am reach one month.' 'Abeg, Ken is just a friend.' 'A friend indeed! Wait til Comfort hears this!' 'Abeg no tell am.' Courage said, carrying a remorseful face. 'I go tell am jare, unless you give me part of that indomie wey you dey chop.' 'But e don finish.' "Na your luck be that!" Cassie said triumphantly. Courage, washed her dishes, then arranged her corner and went to bed. Cassie waited for Comfort but by 11pm she had not arrived. 'Ha, wetin do this girl today? Abi she don go sleep for Tunji's house?' Cassie thought, battling hard not to sleep. By 11.30, she had not returned. Cassie was about to wake a sleeping Courage up, when Comfort walked in. 'Good evening girls!' 'Where are you coming from? Don't you see the time?' 'Abeg, abeg, you no be my mama, no carry you own disturb me.' 'Ehen, I dey disturb you abi? Make you call me say you need my help over any party, I no go answer you.' 'Abeg no vex na. Na play I dey play.' 'Which kin play be that? You no sabi say I go dey worried?' 'No vex. Na Tunji carry me go Diganga for one party after we chop for Mr Biggs.' 'I thought you were going to Guess?' 'Tunji changed his mind. Wo, that party rocked. Enough drinks, plenty small chops and better DJ. Olamide even showed up.' 'Eh, Olamide ke?' Cassie asked.' Which one?' 'The one wey be your classmate.' Comfort answered. Cassie hissed. 'What kind of drinks were served?' 'Exotic drinks, local drinks like Sminoff, Don Simon were also present and of course, Henessy.' 'Abeg I wan sleep jare. Thank God say I see you sha. Good night.' 'Good night.'

The rest of the week went without any incident, Cassie and Courage faced their studies while Comfort, despite her party nature, mixed the two sides together. Two weeks later, Comfort came in a gleeful manner. 'Comfort wetin happen?' Cassie asked. 'Guess who I see Courage with today?' Cassie acted like she did not know, but she suspected it was Ken. 'I saw Courage with a guy.' 'So what's special about that? She no fit get male friends?' 'Ah, this one pass male friend. If you see the way she was happy eh, e be like say she don fall in love.' 'Eh, e good for am.' 'But I go disturb am tire eh,She dey form holy, holy for us. Meanwhile she dey toast better guy for school.' 'Na the guy dey toast am oh.' 'Na she jare, you no sabi say plenty ways dey to toast a guy.' While Comfort and Cassie were arguing about Men, Courage was walking along Moremi Car park, hand in hand with Kenneth.

'Ken, you dey funny eh, which one concern you with that girl now?' Courage said, giggling along. 'I can't help but to laugh now, you need to see the embarrassment she suffered from those guys. Shame no even allow am take him bag back.' Ken continued. He then noticed some guys watching from a distance. From the Archi studio to be precise. His face showed concern, he however changed it back to the cheerful mien it had a few seconds ago, just before Courage could notice. 'Erm, Courage, I need to check a friend at Awo hall.' He said casually. The guys watching were now calling a number. 'Anything? you seem worried.' 'Nothing jare. i just forgot something with him.' As Ken was trying to dismiss Courage, he saw the guys walk away as a bike carrying a lady stopped in the car park right in front of them. The lady came down from the bike and landed a 'Thunder' slap on Kenneth. 'There is the 'holding' style,' Comfort said using a bunk to demonstrate. 'The girl go just dey hold the guy's hand like say them be dates already. Na so i see Courage do with Bro Ken.' 'Hmnn, you don give am name.' 'Then there is the eye-lashes trick. The girl go just dey do eye like traffic light for school, turning on and off.' 'Ok' 'There is the 'head on chest' method and finally there is the 'Unclad down' method for desperate cases.' 'Or Desperate girls.' Cassie thought to herself Cassie phone started blinking and ringing, showing a call from someone. She looked at it and saw Courage's name. To be continued

'So, Ken this is how you cheat on me with cheap girls like this one, eh Ken?' 'Linda, she is just a friend, nothing serious.' 'Indeed, she has been with you for two hours. Two hours Ken!' 'We read together.Stop been delusional, Linda.' It was really beginning to annoy Ken. 'Courage was getting angry, enough anger to start burning her hair.' 'So its this cheap 'thing' you want to read with?' Linda continued. 'Hey, Hey, watch your mouth!' Courage said loudly 'So the 'thing' has the a.......' The rest of the statement was lost in two quicksilver slaps Courage sent to her. 'See, am not your mate, nor am I after your boyfriend, If you are too deaf to listen to what he says, don't be too daft to understand what am saying.' 'Eh? You slapped me?' Linda said before attempting to slap Courage. Courage, who have fought boys before dodged her attempt before kicking her on her bosoms. Linda was down and Courage pulled back. 'YEEH! You beat me?' Linda stood up, throwing sand to Courage's eyes before attacking her, with Ken looking on, frustrated. 'Ok, Ok, am coming there now.' Cassie ended the call. 'Wetin happen?' Comfort asked. 'Somebody dey fight Courage for Moremi Car park.' 'Eh? Oya make we dey go.' Comfort said, dashing to the bathroom with some clothes, before emerging out in world record time with a blouse and a knicker. She then carried a pestle and approach Cassie. 'Wetin you wan use that one do?' 'I wan pound the head of the i.diot wey dey beat Courage. Comfort said fuming. I dey enter Okada.'

Comfort dashed to Road One like a mad woman chasing a man, crossed it and stopped a bike. Cassie who was some metres behind called her name but could not stop the bike from zooming off with Comfort on it. 'Na wa o.' Cassie said to herself before calmly crossing the road. Courage stood with arm akimbo, looking menacing. She had some dust on her hair and her clothes were a bit dirty, but she was fine. Linda, on the other hand, had her wig removed, showing a bald head, richly reflecting the sun's glory, dust on her body,a few cuts and a partially torn cloth. 'This show of shame must never happen again, do you understand?' The hall warden warned. 'How can two beautiful ladies like you be fighting publicly over a man that may not marry any of you. Is any of you over thirty? Am asking you.' She said. 'No ma.' 'Then why are you fighting, instead of reading your books and becoming wonderful women in the future. That is how some of you disgrace womanhood in this country.' Some onlookers nodded their heads. 'I must not hear of this again, you hear me?' She dismissed them. As the crowd dispersed, Ken bumped into a guy. 'Justus how far?' 'Ken Da money? How are you?' 'Justus how now?' Courage greeted. 'Iwe! Ken, you wan get 5 points for this semester, abi?' 'Na so oh!' 'Wetin happen for here?' Justus asked, after noticing the dispersing crowd. 'Na wetin Linda cause oh!' 'Linda again?' 'She saw me with Courage, na so she come dey insult am, fight com start.' 'Eeehen!' 'E bad reach say hall warden come enter matter, seperate them, com warn them.' 'Eyah,Courage no vex abeg. At least e no fit worse reach that one.' Ken saw Comfort coming down from the bike. 'Justus, e fit enter terrible now.'

'Abeg, Abeg, free me. E dey pain me say I no see am.' Courage then introduced her roomies to Ken and Justus, with Comfort inspecting Ken. 'So na because of you, someone dey beat my friend. Heh, better warn am oh! Comfort said menacingly.' 'Abeg no vex, na my girlfriend.' 'Hmnn..... Warn am oh!' 'I am going, Ken. Later.' 'Courage, please don't be angry, eh, please.' 'I dey vex for you? am not angry jare' 'Tell me that am forgiven.' Ken and Justus said, kneeing down. 'Abeg, Abeg, stand up, E no reach that level.' 'Thank you.' As they left, Ken turned to Justus. 'I don tire for Linda, I am going to Father Nick.'

'Father, am tired of Linda. She is too possessive, always embarrassing any girl with me. She spies on me, checks my movement as if am her slave and disgraces me in public.' 'Ken, be patient with her.' 'Father, why should I? The latest episode affected my reading partner who I met two weeks ago. She came with a bike and fought the poor lady in Moremi hall Car park, that was after insulting me.' 'Father, my freedom of movement is hindered, her jealously and lack of trust follows me at every turn, am tired of her. She should carry her money and go, I don't need her help again.' 'Kenneth, think about it and tell me your decision.' 'Okay Father.'

Cassie yawned. It was 10pm and yet, her MAC 311 assignment stared at her unfinished. Courage and Comfort had already slept, and the room was stark dark. NEPA had done the usual and her rechargeable lamp was the only shining object in the room. She tapped Courage on her head and on her waist, Courage refused to wake up. She did same to Comfort and the same result occured. Feeling naughty, she decided to do something. There was a dead snake, recently killed by the maiguard around. Cassie had a plan. To be continued.

She went to the back of the house, lamp in hand as she went to pick the dead snake. She then came back to the room, put the snake on Courage's body and tapped her violently, shouting 'Snake! Snake!!" Courage turned and suddenly jumped out of her bed in fear as the snake fell down. She was about to scream when she realised that it was dead. Cassie, in the meantime, was laughing. 'See as you run. Oole'( weakling) 'What do you mean by that, Cassie? See as you disrupted my sleep. Is that your sorry?' 'E yah, sorry oh' Courage hissed as she settled back to sleep. Cassie, still awake, tried to stir her back to alertness. 'Courage abeg borrow me your biro.' When Courage did not budge, she continued bothering her until she woke up. 'Cassie, abeg leave me. I no sabi the spirit wey dey chase you.' 'Na spirit dey chase you. Abeg borrow me your biro.' 'Na so dem dey ask for biro? I no give you.' 'Oya please now.' Shey you go leave me alone if i give you. Yes. Courage stood up and dragged her bag and brought out her biro 'Please return am oh!' Courage said in between yawning. Cassie received the biro, continued writing and realised that she was too tired to push on. She pushed the assignment to the floor and slept.

She saw herself between Ade and someone she could not fathom. Ade was shouting her name but she was busy talking to the stranger, when suddenly he turned away. Chase all she could, Ade did not come back. She was screaming on top of her voice..... 'Cassie, what's wrong with you? Why you dey shout Ade's name?' Comfort asked, after beating her out of her nightmare. Cassie woke up, looking distraught and confused for a minute. "It was a nightmare?" 'No, na daystar! Abeg wake up, 12 don nack.' "Jesus!" Cassie shouted as she suddenly came to life, picking her papers which were on the table and scribbling away for five minutes, before carefully putting them in a bag and calling Shittu, her class rep. 'Shittu Baba, wetin dey happen?' 'Aunty Cassie, Biggest girl of the class, I dey oh. Why you no come MCB 307 class? Mr Wale asked of you.' 'Abeg that one no dey do me. If you submit am before I come eh, eh, Shittu, you no go like yourself.' "Roger that!" Shittu said. Cassie smiled and dropped the call. 'Comfort, abeg I dey come, I wan reach department.' "Eh? She boarded a bike and zoomed off, not minding the way the bikeman drove or the smell of alcohol on him. "Drive faster, drive faster!" The bike raced madly along Road One up to Health Sciences Faculty, where the traffic light forced Cassie to take a break. Cursing the traffic lights, she almost came down out of haste, but then she was fortunate as the lights became green. The bike quickly diverted its course to BOOC, dropping its 'cargo' at the car park. Cassie promptly paid the man and speed-walked to her department. She looked all over for Shittu, but he seemed elusive. She had lost all hope of seeing him and was moving sadly back to her room, when she was tickled somewhere that was sensitive, forcing her to jump and almost slapped the guy when turning. "Shittu!"

Shittu was laughing hard at her. 'See as you dey shout, abi I steal something ni?' "Shittu don't touch me there again, biko!" 'No vex na, oya sorry.' Cassie shifted her attention to her HOD's office. 'Have you submitted the assignment?' 'Yes oh! Infact, you came ten minutes late.' Cassie wore a 'crying face', trying to ascertain if he was joking. 'Shittu, why now? You know the kind of man he is. Why did you submit? And I came before your deadline.' 'Before his deadline. He corrected her. And I was just pulling your legs,' he continued, showing her a file showing all the submitted assignments. Cassie quickly brought her assignment and fixed it in between the others.' Thanks, Shittu, you are a life saver.' 'You should know that I won't fall your hand. He said, while going to submit the assignment.' She watched him go, wondering what it will feel like to be his girlfriend. To be continued

Shittu was the first guy she liked. A bit muscular, dark and slightly tall, he was the funny guy in the class, cracking jokes. His friendly nature and his reception towards people attracted many to him. She had thought, in her Part One of course, that he was the man for her. But he never looked her way and then Ade came along in Part Two, so she had an alternative. It took the end of the second semester of Part Two before he asked her out. Unfortunately for both parties, she was dating Adedayo. She was also aware of his dating travails; he had first dated Kike, who was a year above him and cheated on him, then Comfort, her roomie, who saw him too soft for her liking. Comfort had always complained of how the guy did not want sex and how her admiration of him was dwindling. At the end, she dumped him and picked Shefiu, who she later dumped for Tunji. "Cassie." Dupe, another of her classmates called her out of her imagination. 'How far na? We no see you for class today. This one wey you dey look like this, I hope all is well?' Dupe was the class gossip, whose mouth runs faster than a tap gushing out water. No discussion was safe with her. 'Nothing.' Cassie replied. 'Okay o, just remember say 301 practicals dey by 1pm.' Cassie looked at her watch. It was ten minutes to one. "poo!" She swore.

She quickly tried Courage's number. Courage was fumbling with her bag after another tiring CHM 309 lecture. She had seen Ken today and had discussed academic issues with him, they have even read together, although not for long so as to avoid Linda. She was going home when Cassie rang her up. "How far, Cassie?" 'Na so you dey greet persin? ' 'Na my fault ni. You no call me this morning, I left you sleeping on the bed and the next thing is for you to disturb me with calls.' "Aha, Courage!" 'Oya, sorry o, what can I help you to do?' 'Please help me get to the hostel and bring my lab coat.' 'My lab coat dey here and I no dey reach hostel come back. You go manage am?' Cassie thought for a minute, then decided to go with the option. 'Oya bring am come.' Courage was there within seconds. "You fly ni?" Cassie asked 'Yes, i used Arik Air, Na your 'thank you be that?' Courage said as she brought out her lab coat. Cassie collected the lab coat, hugged her tightly and rushed to the laboratory, blowing a kiss to her.

Comfort and Courage were gisting when Cassie came back to the hostel. 'Cassie, where are you coming from by this time?' Courage asked in mock surprise. Comfort simply lifted her nose up. 'Wetin dey do both of you? Shebi na just 4pm. Abeg no start with me, I get headache.' 'How you no go get headache, when you run comot without even brushing your teeth.' Comfort said. 'See as you dey smell.' 'I no smell.' 'You dey smell.' 'Bad,Bad.' Courage said to add an effect. 'I just dey come from lab.' Comfort and Courage suddenly stood up like robots and ran to an edge in the room shouting," SARS!" "SARS!!" "Wetin dey do una now, abeg stop it oh!" Cassie said, feeling insulted. 'You no no say as you no baff, the microbes for your body don mix themselves with that of the one for lab. Their....' 'DNA.' Courage helped out. 'Ehen, their DNA for don mix finish, na so una microbe seniors dey do new disease comot make una see money make. Abeg go bath for that place, before them come quarantine you.' Cassie heades for her bed, causing more movement from her mocking roomies. She then took her bucket, towel and soap tray and headed for the bathroom.

Cassie came back from the bathroom, obviously refreshed. 'You look better now.' Comfort and Courage said together. 'Wetin carry you comot like that?' Comfort inquired "Hmnn...... Na Assignment ooh!" 'I had to submit that assignment before the deadline. I no wan fail the course.' 'So Na on top course you dey do like that? Abeg make I see road.' Comfort answered. "Ehen, Na on top course, you sabi how many people dey repeat that course?" Dem plenty gan. 'Which course be that?' 'Na MCB 301.' "Oh, that Baba's course?" 'I dey hear stories of am. I hear say people dey fail that course wella.' Courage added. 'Hmn, If you see how many seniors dey come that class and those who dey photocopy notes, you go fear.' 'I dey hear of am from my department. I hear sey the course dey legendary.' 'Ok, so na because of am you dey rush like that?' "Na only you dey course wey hard?" 'Me sef get course wey hard gan.' 'Abeg, Dramatic Arts go get hard course?' 'Comfort no carry your own judge my own.' 'Dramatic Arts no be department? No be the same OAU we dey?' 'Shebi na Dance and acting una dey do?' "wetin hard for that one?" 'Abeg, e hard oh.' 'If I hear......' 'All departments for OAU hard jare.' Courage concluded to stop an argument from starting. 'Some departments are more difficult than others. I wan read.' 'For room abi for library.' 'Nooo, na your head i go use read, Comfort.' 'Na question I ask now.' Comfort said, sounding so innocent. 'Abeg, free me.' 'Anyway, I dey go out.' Comfort said. 'Tunji's parole abi?' 'No be that one, na rehearsal I get for my department.' "By this time?" 'The lord be with you.' Cassie said. 'And also with you.'

After Comfort left, Cassie and Courage settled down to study. At 8pm, a call came through. It was Comfort. 'Comfort how far? How rehersals?' Cassie asked, wondering why Comfort's voice was muffled. 'It was fine.' Comfort said while sniffing. 'Comfort, what is wrong? Where are you?' 'Am fine, don't worry.' 'Comfort, you sound like you were crying. You don't convince me, tell me what's wrong?' Courage raised her head from her books. 'Am at White Wall.' 'You are where? When did you turn to Deeper Life?' 'Abeg no insult church oh! Abi na only Deeper Life people dey use White Wall?' Courage reacted. 'You won't believe it if I tell you,Cassie.' 'What happened? 'Cassie asked again. 'Tunji cheated on me.' To be continued

"Tunji did what?" Cassie shouted, taking Courage attention to her. 'I caught him at Moremi Car park, a lady was blowing his d**k and he was enjoying it.' 'Comfort just hold on okay, we are coming there now.' 'What happened?' Courage asked her after she dropped the call. 'Tunji cheated on Comfort.' 'Eyah, so where is she?' 'Is that all you are going to say?' 'That's all am going to say.' "WHERE IS SHE?" 'She is at White Wall.' 'Lets go there.' Ten minutes later, they were with her. 'Comfort, sorry eh, things will work out. I can't believe Tunji will do this.' 'I can believe it,but to think he almost deceived me.' Courage said. 'Is that what you want to say? Na wa for you oh!' Cassie said. "What is Na wa there now?" 'Did I not show my reservations of Tunji? Anyway,we don't need the argument.' Courage's phone rang. It was Ken

'What is it, Ken?' Courage answered. 'Please I need you to stand as a witness for me. Are you on Campus?' "Yes." 'Where?' 'White Wall.' 'Okay, come to Sports Car Park.' Courage dropped the call. 'I have to get to Sports Car Park.' 'Can we follow you?' Cassie said. 'Don't bother, besides Comfort is in no shape for anything like that, she needs a hot bath and some sleep.' 'Who told you? I dey all right oh. Oya I dey come.' 'No need.' Courage replied. 'I dey come. You wan hide your boyfriend from us again.' 'You have seen Ken and as a matter of fact, He is not my boyfriend.' Comfort and Cassie still followed her, despite her protests. 'Una like wahala gan.' Linda had just finishing showing her 'sex prospectus' to Tunji by blowing him in his car, unaware of who saw them. She disengaged from him and sat down on the 'owner's corner'. 'So, what's next?' 'Lets go to somewhere quiet where I will show you what I can do.' Tunji said with a leer, making Linda smile. 'Tunji, you are a bad boy.' Linda chuckled. He drove away from Moremi hall, diverting his attention from the loud but sweet, d**k blowing girl besides him. He did not know what made Linda special to him, if it was his intimate urges or Linda was that good, he had to have her that night. Comfort was too busy wiuth rehearsals, so he can be forgiven for cheating, or can he? 'See, this is a one night stand, you understand?' He told Linda, who sheepishly nodded her head. Behind the nod however, sh was plotting. Plotting to date him and Ken together. He stopped at Sport Car park, then moved further to IGI, now dark and abandoned. 'Come down,' He told Linda. He started smooching her and before long they were kissing passionately. He was about to lift her skirt when someone whistled at their direction. It was Ken.

Linda, what's happening here? Ken asked bewildered. Linda quickly adjusted her dress, looking angrily at Ken while Tunji zipped up his trousers. "What's happening here, I am asking you?" Ken shouted this time around. 'See, See, don't shout at me jare, carry yourself comot for here. No come dey form like my husband here.' Ken could not believe his ears as Tunji was trying to ascertain what was happening. 'Who is he to you, Linda?' Tunji asked. 'He is just someone I know, I don't know why he is behaving like a boyfriend or a husband.' 'Ken, wetin happen wey you dey open mouth like say mosquito bite you for your buttocks.' "Justus, see me see trouble oh!" 'Linda dey deny me infront of this bros. Chai see embarrassment.' 'Na wa o.' 'I thought you said that you were not dating anyone, not to talk of a person on campus.' Tunji asked her. 'Tunji, Please ignore him.' 'There is nobody inside my heart apart from you.' 'He is just clingy, I dated him before but i broke up with him.' Tunji and Justus looked utterly confused as Ken's amazement seems to be increasing in geometric progression. Linda, However, was unruffled. 'Tunji, look at me, I love you and you alone.' Linda started as Ken was calling a number. 'Listen and Listen good, Linda.'Tunji found his voice. 'This was and always be a one night stand.' "I don't love you and I will never will, You Understand?" He raised his voice. 'Please Tunji, my love is undying, Its........' "HEEEY!" "WONDERS SHALL NEVER END!" "LINDA, YOU ARE TOASTING COMFORT'S BOYFRIEND?" Courage shouted. Linda was about shooting a look at her when a slap made from hell landed on her. When she stood up, she saw trouble, stemming red hot with a plank on her side. She saw a thousand demon flying above a head, like flies around a rotten fruit. She saw Comfort.

Before anyone could react, Comfort smashed a bottle that was nearby on Linda's head. "GOD PUNISH YOU! WHO YOU BE, WEY YOU WAN SNATCH MY BOBO FROM ME?" "Eh, I DEY ASK YOU?" Comfort said furiously, shaking her hair like Medusa snakes. Before Linda could answer another 'Thunder' slap came, this time from Courage. "And you dey follow me fight over KEN ABI?" 'Oya kneel down there.' "I said KNEEL DOWN THERE!" COURAGE angrily said, landing a plank on Linda's head, while Cassie was giggling. "You no hear am? Abi make I com add my own join, Id.iot!" Linda quickly knelt down as humble as a goat resigned to death by its owner's knife, while Tunji was trying to calm Comfort down. 'See, I go choke you bottle oh, no just try me.' Comfort shook her fists at Tunji, which caught him by surprise. Ken and Justus were just as dazed, decided to enjoy the view from a distance. 'Comfort please, take it easy, I swear nothing happened.' Tunji pleaded. 'E BE LIKE SAY YOU WAN TAKE BOTTLE FOR HEAD?' 'NO BE THIS PROOOSTITUTE, WETY I SEE DEY 'HEAD YOU FOR MOREMI CAR PARK?' 'Na mistake abeg.' 'HeHe, Playboy, better shut up there.' Courage answered. 'And to think I had started respecting you. Comfort make we descend on am?' Tunji looked shell-shocked at the question, while Ken decided it was time to step in before someone blood was split. 'Courage, Its okay, please leave the guy here, There is no need to take any action.' He said dragging her. It took some strong persuasion from Ken, Justus and Tunji before Courage decided to leave him alone. "But this girl, WE GO SHOW AM!" She said with an air of authority. Tunji moved into the car like Flash and drove off, ignoring the desperate pleas from Linda. Ken then walked towards her. 'Linda, you see where you are, right? So while you embarrass me around campus, spying on me and accuse me of messing around this is what you do, abi? I will tell Father Nick.' Before she could mount a protest, he put a finger in his mouth. 'Linda, I am done with you. No amount of begging, pleading, confession and whatever can bring me and you together. I have washed my hands off your case.' 'Don't call me, send me text message, or call my name anyway. He said, dusting his hands.' 'And if you try that rubbish you used to do, you will sleep in the police cell that night.' Justus, let's walk. 'Girls,' he said raising his hands like he surrendered. 'I have left her in your hands.' As Ken walked off, he could hear Comfort saying, Oya, remove that skirt. He turned back and looked from a distance. 'Ken why we dey stop?' 'It may be indecent, but make I see wetin she dey deny me.' 'Chai!, you be bad boy.' Linda was soon stripped of her clothes and was stark Unclad, not even pants hiding her bush as Comfort started kicking her privates. 'See the thing as e bushy die, Chai! Tunji no get levels I swear,' She lamented. "Oya, dey do frog jump! Now!" Linda started to frog jump until they got to White wall, 'Singing Am A LovePeddler' By Cossy, by the time she got to White wall, she was too weak to walk. Everyone praying watched as she continued singing under the threatening tutelage of Comfort, Courage AND Cassie. "Take your clothes, Fool!" Comfort threw her clothes to her. 'If you dare report this to any body, wetin happen here go be like play.' "YOU HEAR ME?" Linda nodded her head. "Oya Vamoose!" Comfort shouted as she kicked Linda butt and forced her to a naked run. Linda's show of shame was soon the talk of the school,as the drama of that night developed wings and flew away into broadcast mode. People everywhere talked about it, and in a not-too-social varsity like OAU, it failed to die hard. Guys looked at her with some level of derision, the callous ones whistled at her direction. Some crazy guys 'tried their luck' with her, while some just threw a crazy distance between them and her. Ladies were not left out, as they formed 'holier than thou' attitude towards her, her roommates being the worst. She had lost all the respect given to her. Comfort had moved on, and was facing her studies, with Tunji not making it easy. At times she wondered if it was worth breaking up with him, other times she did not want to think about him. Tunji had come to state his case a number of times, but Cassie and Courage made it hard for him. Cassie was in her favourite class and had answered a question correctly, leading the lecturer to praise her. 'I hope you boys can see yourselves now.' He said, pointing at some lads. 'That's how you know someone who has a brain in her skull and someone who has coconut in his skull.' He concluded, landing a big slap on a recently barbed hair, which elicited laughter from all quarters. 'Its not my fault that you don't know how to use your head at this age.' He continued, 'I just pity some of you ladies that go after guys with cars.' He said, drawing everyone's attention to Linda, again. 'If you are dumb marry a dumb man because of the little change he has, then I pity the level of dumbness your child will have. A word is enough for the wise.' "Class dismissed." The class ended in a fit of laughter, Cassie joining the reverie. She was packing her books when a call came through. It was Tunji

'Tunji, why are you calling me?' 'Cassie, please let's talk.' 'What Talk? Please don't bother me.' 'Please, just give me a chance.' 'Am I your girlfriend? Please I am not single.' Cassie said, partially mocking him. 'Cassie, I need an entrance back to Comfort's heart, and I need to convince one of you three that I am sincere.' 'Okay, where are you?' 'I am at White house.' 'Meet me SUB.' Ken was walking towards Awolowo Hall, where Linda stormed towards him. 'Ken, I use God beg you, please forgive me.' "Why begging me now?" 'Shebi you used to behave like you are holy and above evil, meanwhile you were worse than a prostitute.' "Ken please." Linda was shedding hot tears. "Leave me alone!" 'Don't bother me.' 'Please, Ken don't abandon me.' Ken walked away from her, kicking her hand away in the process. Linda then wondered why Men cannot forgive. Comfort was in her hall, listening to some jamz when Tunji knocked and came in. Alone.

Comfort looked up and realised she was alone, she then positioned herself at the edge of her bunk, carrying a knife. "Comfort, please I did not come to fight, please put the knife down." " Who told you that I was alone?" Her eyes looked hotter than the sun. "Cassie did. Please listen to me, ejo, biko." Tunji went on one knee. "Oya, am listening. Tell me the lies you cooked for me." Comfort said, fuming. "I will not lie to you. When I called you and you said that you went for rehearsal, I wanted to wait for you but I could not, so I was already in town when one of my friends called me and asked where I was, that there is party at Diganga." ' That's was where I met Linda.' 'Ehen, continue.' Comfort said, her anger subsiding. Tunji, seeing that, now knelt down completely. 'I don't know if it was the drink or I wanted sex that badly, I accosted her and we talked about sex, then I drove her to Moremi where she sucked my d*ck.' 'From there, we drove to IGI. I was about doing the main thing when her boyfriend came.' "So you knew she had a boyfriend?" 'To God who made me I did not know...' "Stop using God's name to swear, he-goat!" Comfort barked. 'Comfort, it was a one-night stand, please forgive me.' Tunji kept pleading. "See, I can't forgive you now, see the way you made mockery of me, choosing to hurt my feelings like that." 'And if na better girl, I for hear, but na that thing that looks like a child from Somalia you now used,' "Tunji, you are daft!" "Yes, am daft, correct me mommy." Tunji stylishly whined her. "Tunji!" Comfort was beginning to shed some tears and Tunji knew that he had won. "I will not hurt you again, I swear." He declared as he hugged her. They chatted for some time before he went out. As he was going, he made a call to someone. "Plan was successful, let's move to step B." "So fast! Easy on the girl, remember that she must suspect nothing." "There is nothing to suspect. Let's finish her off!"

Courage and Cassie were disappointed that Comfort fell so easily for Tunji's explanation. As a matter of fact, Courage was angry. "So upon everything that happened, you still fell for that rubbish? Comfort, I swear, you no be like me. Chai! Why was I not around? Who told him that you are alone?" 'He said it was Cassie.' Courage glared at Cassie." So you and Tunji are back together again, abi? Okay, I don hear." "Comfort, are you sure that Tunji was honest?" 'Because you can't trust men nowadays, he may have ulterior motives. Besides I expected that you will send him out. Anyway, you know why you accepted him.' Cassie said with a sigh. 'I love him.' Comfort answered in between sobs. Courage's reply was hung in mid- air by a quick reacting Cassie. To be continued.

Comfort, its okay, just be careful. Cassie ended the talk. As she finished her statement, Ade call came through. Meanwhile, some miles away at Asherifa, Tunji was having a meeting with some men.

'See, she loves me and I want it that way. I just need to break her spirit.' Tunji explained to the two men. Shefiu was shorter and darker than Tunji, although he compensated that with biceps of the right proportions and a body that was definitely built. His English was awkward at times, but by all means he was clever and wise in the world. Alimi on the other hand, was a thug and a cultist. 'Tunji, I understand you, but what you don't realise is that Comfort does not trust you and that trust is needed for her to be vulnerable.' 'Secondly, the place was not right, if you tried anything funny, she will alert others and that's the end for you.' 'So what do you suggest?' Tunji asked. 'Take your time with her, at least she is not graduating now, let time ease away any doubt she has about you, shower her with love and when she is completely open to you, you strike!' "Come, this one na long story, just grab am one time may we molest am." Alimi suggested. "What's wrong with this one? Better hold your temper. Don't you know that SUG dey?" 'Abi you wan make them catch our guy?' 'Shefiu, its okay. I will take your advice, but it should not be too long.' Tunji ended the discussion. Shefiu and Alimi stood up and left the house, leaving Tunji to his thoughts.

The rest of the month went without event. Tunji and Comfort were closer than ever. Tunji, keeping the advice of Shefiu in mind, was acting cool, as if Linda never existed. Their sex life even returned, as Cassie and Courage looked in sheer amazement at the way Comfort forgot about everything that happened. Cassie, meanwhile was running into troubled waters with her relationship with Ade. He seemed to have unusually gone cold on her, the text messages had reduced, the calls were now becoming shorter and less frequent, and he was always saying that he was busy at home. One day, Ade was with his friend, Demola, who could not understand what was happening. "Guy, wetin do you and that your babe, Cassie?" "Abi una dey fight?" Ade looked at him, stress written all over his face. "I am breaking up with Cassie."

Demola face suddenly changed, his eyes speaking surprise and disbelief. "Wetin she do you wey you wan dump am like that?" "Wetin concern you, Demola?" Ade asked. "See, make I no lie you, you dey lucky as she dey date you. How many babes go gree for guy wey dey below their level? And she no dey fu*k up, she no dey cheat, una dey happy together and suddenly you wan dump am?" ' There is God oh, don't make life difficult for other guys.' 'See, its not my fault, I can't help it. I have to wed another lady and am just getting to know.' "Eh?" " In this 21 century?" " How come?" 'Its a long story but I will try. My father was a prince, although he was not expecting to be king as the third child. But the first two suddenly died last month and now that there is no one on the throne, he has to take over. As the first son, I am stipulated to marry a Yoruba lady as a minor tradition and Cassie does not fit that. I am just confused and devastated.' "Wow!" Demola exclaimed. "But when will you tell her?" 'I don't know how I will tell her. We have been together for some time and exams are near. I don't want to affect her exams with this news.' 'See, try and tell her as soon as possible. The earlier she deals with it, the better. Or you can try and search for loopholes in your tradition.' I will try and do the later. Ade decided. I can't just lose her like that. Thanks a lot, Demola. "What are friends for?" 'Don't mention. Meanwhile make I put PES2014 make we play, I wan r*pe you and that your Chelsea team today.' 'Na so you dey talk, let's go there.'

Cassie had finished preparing for her exams starting on Monday. She was walking towards White House, where Courage was waiting for her when someone tapped her at the back. She turned around to see a clearly older woman, who despite her age looked in her mid 40s. She wore a long gown which shown all her features and her accessories did not look cheap. Her red lipstick fit perfectly to her darkened face and her clear eyes shone. Whoever she was, she clearly took care of her body. "Young Lady, I have been meaning to talk to you." Comfort was walking from the library, where she obviously went there to read. She hardly made visits to the library, certainly someone that did not take reading that serious could not visit the library, as it bores her to death. She was going onm her own, where she hear someone whistling at her direction. A minute later, a finger tapped her shoulder, an action which made her turn. "Sorry, are you Comfort?" the young man in front of her asked. Justus was walking his way from Social sciences, after writing an aptitude test. He was tired and hungry as he had read into the night, combining both academic work with this professional examinations. He was walking home which for now was Awolowo Hall, when he heard his name from somewhere. He turned and hissed as he saw the Lady coming. It was Linda To be continued.

Cassie looked confused and a bit stunned at the statement. She clearly did not know the woman from anywhere and the woman spoke like they were familiar. 'Sorry, ma but I don't remember knowing you from anywhere ma, so I don't know how I have any business with you, ma.' Cassie said defiantly, moving a bit cautiously. 'You don't know me but I know you. The woman answered. At least, you are the Cassie who has been keeping my Adedayo in a daze of affection, so much that he had refused to drop you.' Cassie, now realising that the only link between them was Adedayo and putting other facts together, realised that she had to be his mum. 'You are Adedayo's mum.' She said assertively. 'So you are as intelligent as he often rants about.' The woman said. 'Yes, I am his mother and we have some things to talk about. Follow me.' She said as she walked towards the staircase, Cassie following automatically.

'Hy, I am Tolu. I am sorry if I startled you.' Comfort was looking at a slighty taller guy, whose fair skin looked fresh, like he bathed in milk daily. His accent was distinctly Nigerian, yet it had none of the rawness of an 'Ajepako' guy. He was well dressed, A T-shirt and what looked like a new pair of 'chinos' trousers combined with Timberland footwear told her he had some class. Yes, How can I help you? 'I am sorry for speaking out of tone or not minding my business, but you are in some form of danger.' 'By who?' 'By your boyfriend called Tunji.; "What are you talking about? How did you know me and Tunji?" 'Well, it was not that difficult, considering the Linda episode, is it? You are known all over the school for what happened and you seemed to have caused some injuries to Tunji's ego. He plans as he called it 'to put you in your place'. He was angry that you embarrassed him that day and he plans to do some harm to you.' "Oya, what kind of harm does he plan to do?" Comfort said, half- humorously. 'I don't know details, but it seems to be big. He and some ruffians are planning something bad.' "See, I don't care who you are, or your so called informants are, But I loved Tunji and He Loves me, PERIOD!" 'If I see you disturb me, I will report you to the police.' Comfort walked out impudently on the young man. He smiled and walked off, not before making a statement. "You don't know what will hit you!" To be continued

'You see, that's why you can't continue with Adedayo.' She told Cassie. They had been discussing in a lecturer's office at the Chemistry section of White House for an hour. She had gone ahead to tell her about the traditions of her tribe and the rules that follows and Cassie understood that as it stands, Adedayo will be a king some day and they will not stand a non-Yoruba girl been the queen. 'Okay ma.' Cassie replied. 'See, it is not that I hate you, in fact if I had known you earlier, you will probably have visited his house and my place. But its what tradition entails.' She was about to ask if there was a way to go around it, but she sighed and decided not to. If Adedayo, who was the woman's son and an indigene could not stop it, how will she, a stranger do? These are not the days of Mary Slessor. 'Fine ma, I understand.' 'You are a very good and intelligent girl. She said, tapping her head. I have to go, I can't say here again, since I have fulfilled my mission.' Cassie watched as she walked outside, before picking the phone to call Courage. She then decided to send a text message to Adedayo, telling him what happened. As she located and greeted Courage, a number called her. It was Adedayo.

Cassie picked it up, keeping silent to hear what Adedayo was going to say. 'Cassie, I know you are there, please let's meet.' "Where?" 'At my place in Quarters.' 'Fine, am coming there now.' She dropped the call. 'What happened?' Courage asked. 'Its a long story, but I have to meet Adedayo now. Am sorry, see you later.' She ran off as Courage shook her head in disapproval. 'After wasting my time.' She muttered to herself before resigning herself to walking to Maintenance herself. Linda, what is it that you want? Justus asked, obviously irritated. 'Justus, abeg help me beg Ken, please beg your friend for me.' Linda said, looking remorseful. 'Wetin you expect make I do now? After you don disgrace yourself and made yourself unwanted, you are now bringing the rags to Ken, abeg he go get magic.' Linda started kneeling down and was begging Justus in local Edo language, obviously they were from the same place. 'Ok, I will help you, but on one condition.' He said. 'Mention any condition, I will do it, even if its expensive.' Linda was far too desperate to care. 'It is not expensive, but I doubt you will accept it.' "What is it?" 'I want to taste what you were about to give Tunji first.' Justus said, smirking his lips.

Linda looked appalled for some minutes, obviously shocked at his statement. Justus was enjoying seeing the shock on her face. "See, that's my condition. If you can't meet it, go to blazes!" "Aha, Justus please ask for something else, not this." 'I have told you already, it looks like you are not ready.' He started walking away. Linda went after him, and pulled him back. 'Okay, I will do it.' She said, a bit ashamed. 'You will allow me to f*ck you?' Justus said, looking with lust at her well packaged assets. 'Yes, but it will be at my place. I can't do it in Awo hall, I beg you.' 'Ok na, but no tricks or else you will regret it.' He warned her. 'When will you come?' 'Tomorrow.' He said, deciding that a day's pleasure will not harm his academics. 'Ok tomorrow, bye, bye.' As she walked away, he smirked again. 'Mumu.' He said to himself before calling Friday, his ally in such matters. Meanwhile as she walked away, she called a number. 'Kayode, call Tijani. I get job for una!' Cassie stormed to Adedayo's residence and knocked. It took less than a second for Demola to open the door. On sighting Cassie, he asked no questions but opened the door and called Adedayo. 'Your babe don show.' Adedayo quickly dropped the game he was playing on his system and meet Cassie. 'Good afternoon.' He said. 'Good evening.' 'Cassie, I don't what my mum told you but please allow me to explain.' 'She told me everything.' Cassie went ahead to relay all what she and his mother discussed. 'Ade, I am not even angry that you are dumping me, what is annoying me is that you could not tell me, I now have to hear it from your mother.' 'Cassie, I am sorry. I did not know how to tell you, we have spent a year already together, my love for you has only increased not decreased, I have had big plans for you only for this to happen. I have not recovered fully from this and exams are just around the corner. I thought of you and how you have worked hard, I can't just destabilize you with this news.' 'Its okay, I just wanted to clear it up with you.' Cassie answered. 'Cassie, please forgive me.' He requested. 'What have you done wrong? I have nothing to forgive.' 'Please.' 'Okay I have forgiven you.' She hugged him for full effect. 'I have to go.' 'Okay, bye, bye.' He said bravely. As she stepped out of his house, she did not walk but sat down crying. The same thing was happening in the room, as he sat down. Shedding hot tears. To be continued.

Cassie came back in the evening to meet an upset Courage and an inquisitive Comfort. "Girl, wetin do you and Courage? This one wey you dey cry like say all the water for Atlantic Ocean dey your eyes?" 'Abeg, help me ask am, my case get as e be.' "How e no go get as e be?" Courage fired back. 'After you waste my time finish for White House, you come leave me waka go your boyfriend's house.' " Shey na so dem dey do things? "I don hear you." Cassie started begging her seriously, with Comfort joining afterwards. After some time Courage was appeased and Comfort asked Cassie to explain what happened. 'Adedayo broke up with me

Linda checked her watch for the umpteenth time. She knew that it was in their blood to come late, yet it annoyed her to no end. She wanted to discuss this as soon as possible. She was about calling Kayode when he came in to her flat, followed by Tijani They were tall and stocky, with ugly faces. Kayode was as black as charcoal, while Tijani's face could be mistaken for a shoe polish. Both face looked like masks that masquerades use at occultic festivals. With their shirt almost tearing off due to their muscles and jeans trousers swaying around, it could be seen that they were thugs, at the very least. They both sat down as Linda started to explain what happened and her plans. 'Mama Linda, we don hear you, you sha sabi say you go pay us.' Tijani spoke in a thick, yoruba accent. 'Aha, you no trust me ni, i go pay una. Shey na cash or kind?' 'Both.' Kayode said, his thick hands handling her bosoms. Justus landed in Awo and headed straight for his room. A minute later, Friday came and he discussed his arrangement with Linda. Baddo! Sharp guy! But come oh, shey you go beg Ken for am? Friday asked gleefully. "For where!" 'I no dey do anything, I just wan chop and clean mouth. ' "Better guy! I trust you now." "Justus, wetin you wan do no good oh!" Ola, his roommate studying at a corner in his room, said. "Wetin concern you?" Justus and Friday asked together. "E no concern me, but you sabi say na risk sha? Abi no be the same Linda wey dey send guys to dey follow Ken up and down? She fit dey plan set you up?" 'Abeg shelve that one go corner. She no fit do anything.' 'Ok o. But I don warn you.' Justus was about replying him when Friday held his hand. 'Na true talk he talk oh, the kind lady that Linda be, she fit dey plan bad thing.' 'So wetin be your advice?' 'I go call guys make they dey around that day, if any yawa happen them go enter.' "Friday, Friday! My guy! My personal Guy!" Justus exclaimed as he discussed other matters.

"What?!" Comfort and Courage exclaimed "What happened? Why? Cassie talk now!" Comfort kept barging her with questions and comments, while Courage looked in amazement. 'His mother came today, that's why I did not see you on time in White House.' Cassie said before telling her the discussion she had with Adedayo's mum. "So you and Ade have separate like this?" Courage asked. "But why did you see him again?" 'He called and asked for me to see him, that's why I left. When I got there, I confronted him with it and he admitted what happened. It was there we officially broke up.' 'But na wa o, what guarantees that the lady he will marry will make sense.' Comfort asked. 'All because of some s.tupid tradition. Cassie sorry eh.' She said as Cassie's tears started anew. Some distance away, Demola was trying hard to calm Adedayo down. "Guy, take am easy oh, na on top woman matter you wan break down so?" 'You can't understand. What I and Cassie had was special. We were genuinely in love with each other. We have had pleasant memories together, wonderful memories and dreams we had. All our plans, our goals, what we wanted from our relationship, crashed just because of a kingship that does not belong to us.' 'Kai! Better stop am oh! Your dad is a king and you are an heir to the throne, so get yourself together. Besides exams dey around the corner.' 'Hmn, you won't understand.' 'I know I can't understand, but look at me, Ade. Demola said as Ade moved his teary face towards him. A lot of s.hit happens in life and we can do preciously little about them at times. You can choose to cry over it and harm yourself the more, or you can just rise from it and become stronger. Trust me, the latter option is better. So cheer yourself up, life is still there for the taking.' Demola ended his sermon, hugging Ade.

The next day came by, with Cassie and Ade avoiding each other. Comfort was partying with Tunji, while Courage went reading with Ken. Meanwhile Justus was at Linda's house. Linda, Linda! Sweet girl! He exclaimed as he gulped down what she wore. Linda was on a simple gown, which exposed her assets maximally. Her bosoms were shooting out of the clothes and her backside was rolling in the deep, sending Justus in a spell. She ushered him in as she quickly locked the door. Friday was standing at the other side of the road, watching out for Justus. As soon as he entered in however, Friday walked away, singing to himself. Justus in the meantime was been dragged by Linda to her room, her backside doing most of the dragging. As soon as he entered, she locked it and directed him to the bathroom, as if she wanted sex in the shower. Quickly clothes flew off and he was bare Unclad, his di.ck rising to the occasion like the way Superman flies upwards. He entered into the bathroom first. And met two hefty guys with koboko. To be continued.

Kneel down there! Kayode ordered. Justus knelt down, knowing that it will take a miracle to survive what was coming next. His Di.ck shrank back, obviously realising defeat. Tijani watched over him as Kayode went and brought a laptop. Justus watched as he turned it on and played a p.orn video for him. Despite the situation on ground, his joystick started to grow back, much to his frustration and amazement. He was genuinely confused as to what was their plan. When his joystick stood on full attention, Tijani smacked in satisfaction as Kayode now brought a pressing iron, obviously hot and scarred Justus joystick before it could shrink back, causing him to shout. 'Please, abeg,please,...' That was all he could say at the moment as more marks were been made on his joystick "See, this is just the beginning, na you dey form boss for Linda abi? Today you go hear am." 'Oga abeg, no be so, I go do as you want am, make una stop please.' 'We go stop, when we dey satisfied. Oya, turn your back.' Justus paused for a minute in anger and duly received a lash of koboko from Tijani. As he turned his body tearfully, he was gagged quickly in the mouth. He was expecting more scares, but almost shouted with thrice more pain as they started. Tijani was penetrating him from the back, raw!

Two hours later, they were done. Justus was on the floor, weak and hurt. They had branded his as5 after the r.pe, then they flogged him with kobokos. It was a terrible ordeal, something he could not wish for his enemies. Yet it happened to him. Linda came out of the blues, lifted his head up and smiled. "Listen to me, you twerp! If you report this to anybody, what you will experience will be hot lava compared to this, you understand?" He nodded his head weakly. "Good! Guys, come send this fo.ol comot from here!" They lifted him and went to the sitting room, where he was hurled down and told to dress up. He started to dress up slowly, tears flowing freely from his eyes. If this was a dream, it would have forced him to seek for deliverance, how much more that it was real. Very real to him. He wondered what humiliation could be equal to this. He was r*ped, and by a guy! How will he cope with this?

As he finished dressing up, he noticed that his phone camera was on. He then had an idea, at least to have their faces in print. He barged into the room, hoping to force a stunned reaction from them, just to find a shocker. They were sniffing cocaine! Linda was on the bed, constantly, servicing herself, her nose coated with the banned substance. Kayode was also on the bed, stark Unclad, rubbing one path of her dress as Tijani also Unclad was rubbing his as5. It was all sickening. With all the mental strength left on him, Justus lifted his phone, focused on them and snapped. The picture was perfect, as they were unconscious of their surroundings, so he had no reason to rush. He took two other pictures before leaving them in the state they were. Ola watched in wonder as Justus entered his room, looking jaded. He wanted to ask him how did his encounter with Linda go, but something told him that it went bad. His surprise turned a corner when he saw Justus crying.

Ola could tell that Justus was in bad shape, so he walked quickly toward him, as Justus almost fell on the floor. "Justus, wetin do you?" Justus did not respond, but groaned. Despite his weight, Ola dragged a mildly protesting Justus to his own bed, before he now went over to Justus's bed and laid it for him. He then had the wisdom to call Friday to head down to his room. A few minutes later, Friday arrived with Sunday and Tumise, two other friends of Justus, looking anxiously at their certainly sick friend, who refused to say a word to their questions and prodding. It was when Friday was about to leave, that he said something. "God punish you." Ken was having a laugh with Courage in her room, when Comfort came in. "Hello, lovebirds, how una dey?" She said, eyeing the pair. Ken laughed at the statement, while Courage was blushing. "Comfort, you are not well." "Wetin I do again? I dey lie? " "Yes, you dey lie!" "Abeg make i see road! Dey there dey deceive unaselves." Comfort said, causing a huge laughter from the two of them. She quickly took her bag and went off. Ken then stared and Courage. "Courage, I love you." He started. :) To be continued.

Courage looked at him like a train hit her. She was not sure of what to say, knowing that her feelings for him had gone beyond just been friends. What her feelings for him were, was not what she was sure about. She then decided to use the greatest and simplest escape policy. "Let me think about it." He looked at her, a bit puzzled. He did a bit of mental mathematics in his head and decided that maybe she did not want to look cheap to him. Besides, he could wait the time out, since he was sure of his feelings for her. See as you dey look me. Courage brought him out of his mind, causing a little smile to form on his face. So wetin be the next thing you wan ask me? She asked. Me? Na wetin we dey chop concern me next. He said, bringing laughter to the previously silent room. Meanwhile Justus was narrating his tale to others. "Hmn, see muscles. Omo, we no fit fight these guys oh!" Friday said, Sunday nodding in approval. Tumise, however was of a different thought. "We can beat these guys jare, we be four, them be two." "You no see wetin them dey take? You sabi how that thing dey do people?" Friday added. "But we no fit just bone wetin these guys be. Them be thugs oh, they fit dey follow Justus up and down." Tumise added. "Guys, I have a plan,"Ola, who has been silent all this while, spoke.

They all kept silent, waiting for Ola to reveal his plan. Comfort enjoyed parties because she never paid for any one, she just came in to eat and dance, at times socializing with other guys and girls. She loved chatting up handsome, rich guys as well and probably get a number or two. She was a party girl and no big party was missed for nothing. Especially if its the faculty of Law hosting it. She and Tunji entered Archi studio, he wearing a nice polo jersery with a jean trouser to follow, all blue in colour with a white canvass to match. It was one of his friends who the party was been thrown for, even though the whole faculty sort of claimed it was for them. Comfort, on her part, wore a sexy spaghetti top and a skirt that just barely covered her laps. She was not planning to sit down. She went immediately to the dance floor, draggung Tunji along. As she danced away her time, Tunji who was pretending to be dancing, separated from her and went to meet his guys, who were drinking. Alimi and two other guys watched from a corner as the ladies danced with the few guys that braved the dance floor. Comfort soon noticed his absence and looked around for him. When she noticed what he was doing, she hissed and went to greet one of her male friends. "Kolade, how far?" She started before they went about talking about the party. Tunji was a bit drunk with alcohol when he saw Comfort talking with Kolade. His first emotion was anger and jealousy but when he thought of who she is, he dismissed such emotions, with his hormones shifting gear to arousal. He walked straight to her and held her from behind. Comfort, seeing him, went ahead to introduce him to Kolade, Tunji nodding to the latter's greeting. As she continued to talk, he started to finger her, something that started to make her voice crack. "Kolade I will see you later,"she dismissed him before dragging Tunji to a corner. "You are a wicked boy, you wan make I release in front of that guy?" She asked before kissing him passionately. He led her to the car, kissing all the way as the lights went out. Before long, she started feeling multiple hands all over her body, coupled with strange noises from other girls. Some were moaning, other were crying. In the heat of it, she realised that they were getting r*ped!

She quickly started to struggle, the intimate aura around her failing to deceive her. Luckily for her, Tunji drunk nature could not result to a superior holding stance and he soon dropped her after some blows, kicks and bites. She quickly started running, almost falling down on stray legs left by half-drunk guys and girls. As she rushed out, Tunji quickly composed himself and called Alimi "She don dey run, Make we catch am!" Ola had just finished explaining his grand plan to the others, as he went to warm his food. The four of them decided to put heads together over his plan. "This thing fit work ooo! And we no need to fight them." Sunday said, evoking positive responses from the rest. "But we have to be careful,These guys hide their stuff well," Justus contributed. "We have to know when they receive their consignment and act immediately." "But who will call them? You sabi say this kin people no dey too serious, they fit fall our hand." "Ola's Dad na one big officer there, him go tell them. So na to dey watch them." Justus replied. "The neighbors go sabi wetin dey happen for there, so make we ask them" "I no fit go as they don sabi my face, Justus said, Who will go?" "I fit go jare," Tunmise added, "I no dey fear anybody, besides I sabi town wella and they no sabi me." "So this meeting is ended, shey?" Friday asked. Everyone else nodded their heads. As they left, a small smile was set on Justus face. Finally he can have his revenge! To be continued

Meanwhile Comfort was running fast, Very fast as she had to escape to her room. The few people passing the room could not fathom what was chasing her, as she bothered to talk to nobody. The only thing on her mind was Maintenance. And her room. She looked back to see if she was been followed and noticed nobody at her back. Feeling a little relaxed, she searched her bag, which she managed to collect and went for her phone. She quickly dialed Cassie's number. Cassie was almost asleep when Comfort call came through. She ignored it and tired to sleep. The number buzzed again, this time disturbing Courage. "Who dey call at this ungodly hour?" She asked Cassie. "Na Comfort oooh! I don taya for this kin girl." "Pick am now," Courage urged. "She go call you til you taya." Cassie grumbled as she picked the phone. Meanwhile Comfort was anxiously retrying her number, the darkness aiding her fears. She was now walking as tiredness had set in. "Cassie, abeg pick now." She muttered to herself. Her prayers were answered as Cassie picked up. "Abeg, Cassie, no cut! The party get as e be, I dey come now." "Wetin happen?" Cassie asked, a bit confused. "Ah! The party was fake." "As in how?" "It was a set-up, they dey r@pe girls for there." "Eh?" Cassie shouted, worried. "Where you dey?" "I dey SUB car park, ha, Cassie abeg help me oh!" Comfort said as the moon came up, showing four people with masks. Running towards her.

"What is happening there?" Cassie said, quite alarmed. Courage could see her face as NEPA had restored power supply. "THEY ARE CHASING ME, CASSIE, PLEASE HELP!!!" Comfort was shouting. "Comfort, calm down a bit, where are you now?" "I am at Road One, please do something, I can't run for too long"..... the phone cracked and stopped working. "Ah! Jesu! Not now now!" Comfort said agonizingly as she kept running, even as her feet were weary. "What is happening? Cassie talk to me!" Courage asked, borrowing some worry from Cassie, who was pacing around the room. "Comfort is in trouble! Some men are chasing her, she said that they want to r@pe her." "In OAU?! Aha, how possible is that?" "SHE JUST CALLED ME NOW! I don't even know what to do?" "Where is she?" "She said she is at Road One." "Okay, lets be going." "Going where?" "We are going to Road One." Comfort's legs were already failing her. Yet by willpower, even though she was slow, she had gotten to Local Government. Understandably, Her attackers were faster and they soon got her. "Please, Please, I use God beg you, leave me alone... Please." She said amidst tears. They were beginning to shout and scream, Making all sorts of scary noises to her. "See, You have two choices. Either we have our way with you and you enjoy us, One of them said, licking his lips, Or we enjoy ourselves without you. Do you understand." "See Four of us, Conji dey hook up wella, and We go use you step-down." Another brute said as he tried to kiss her. Comfort allowed him scarily and then bit his tongue as he directed it to her mouth, causing him to withdraw and cry out in pain. A slap came from one end and another slap followed, all directed to her. She cowered a bit as her dress was beginning to be manhandled by the men. "Cassie, lets be going." Courage said as she dialed someone. "Samson! How far? Abeg some guys are after my friend at Road One, I need una help." "You dey near? Thank you jare, I dey come now." She dropped the call and picked up a knife. Cassie herself had ended her minor weeping session and was carrying a brave look. "Oya, am going to the Mai-guard first." She said. On getting there, they tried to get the man to follow them, e refused, citing the fact that his job ended at his post. It was until Cassi seized his gun and Courage threatened to report him to his superiors that was when the lazy man followed them. Comfort was in tears as they had ripped her cloth. What was stopping them from r@ping her was the fact that they were arguing amongst themselves who will go in first, as se was too weak to resist. Tunji decided to start, as their masks hid their faces. He was about to start her ordeal when he heard someone shouting at them. "Stop!" They turned round o see a man with two ladies approaching them. As they tried to run, he shot at them, striking two down.

The other two ran, only to collide with the stern face of Samson and the whole Student Community. As they were apprehended, Students started delivering the usual slaps, while they matched to where Cassie and Co were. Courage and Cassie were the first to meet Comfort,Cassie quickly giving her a gown to wear. As she wore the cloth to cover her unclothedness, Courage and the mai-guard went to the shot men, who could not run out of pain. Courage removed the mask off one of them and gasped for surprise, prompting the guard to ask if she knew him. She called out to Comfort, who walked quickly to the scene as the second shot guy tried to run again. Before anyone could say stop, Courage charged at the guy and delivered two straight hooks, which brought the guy to his knees as pain set in. Comfort, meanwhile reached the place and immediately identified the unmasked man, delivering a slap and went on a search for a stick, leaving the guard bewildered. "Who be this man?" He shouted, which made Cassie to look. Lo and behold, it was Tunde! "Na her boyfriend." Cassie responded, pointing to Comfort who found a stick and stone and immediately stoned him, Causing him to yelp out in pain. "You! You!! You are an animal, Anuofia!" Comfort spat out as she started to exert her anger, frustration and surprise at an injured Tunji. "Tunji,You!" she kept saying, beating him with the stick, which was barbed at the receiving end, until the guard held her and dragged her away. Samson and Co soon met them and dragged the two culprits away, students singing and beating them, with Comfort, Courage and Cassie following. After moving some distance with them, the three girls walked back to Maintenance.

When they got to their rooms, Comfort immediately went for her bed, the night already tiring for her. Since it was still lecture free week, Cassie and Courage decided to leave her alone and go to bed too. The next day, Courage woke up first, quickly followed by Cassie and Comfort. They stared at each other, then the ground as they remembered the previous night. "Cassie thank you." Comfort said, little tears coming out of her emotion-laden face. "Its okay." Cassie said, hugging her as tears flowed anew. "I was scared, very scared. I could not imagine what could have happened." Comfort kept saying. "Comfort, take it easy, let's thank God you were not r@ped, because it is tough." Courage said. "What do you know about r@pe, Reverend Sister?" Comfort shot out, surprising both Cassie and Courage," I was a second from being r@ped and this is all you have to say?" "For you information, I have been r@ped before, so I can speaking from experience." Courage said.

Shock was written over Comfort and Cassie's faces, the former having some remorse over her earlier outburst. "Courage, I am sorry, I never....." "You never thought it had happened to me, right?" Courage asked. "Well, you can be forgiven for thinking like that, at least its the 'Reverend Sister' that we are talking about. Its not something I announce, for obvious reasons as well." "Comfort, I was once like you. Care-free, stubborn, wild-dresser, dating rough guys, I have done them. I dated cultists, Yahoo boys, political thugs and all other miscreants. I have been to parties, I have smoked, I have drank before. All in my late teens. However, because of my popularity, I decided to make a mistake by dumping a Capone of a cult for another member of a rival cult, A Capone, for that matter. So one night, after I attended a party, I was kidnapped by the cultists whose Capone I had dumped, dragged to a forest and was serially r@ ped til the next morning. I was later abandoned and I had to beg for clothes and money to get back to school." She said.

"The pain and the trauma of that night lingered on for a long time and considering that the incident led to a major cult fight, which many students died, it was just too painful for me to bear. So I changed universities. That's why I am here now." "I suspected Tunji from the beginning, only that I could not chose to hurt you or become your enemy for telling you, knowing how you view me. I am sincerely sorry for how my silence had caused you." She ended her speech, pulling Comfort closer. Cassie joined in the hug, promising that they will watch each other's back. Meanwhile, the news of what happened spread like wildfire, everyone gossiping about what happened. It did the Faculty of Law no favours, nor the celebrant. For the others, it was an avenue to pour anger, scorn or mockery at the event, depending on who is talking. Linda and her friend, Shade were discussing about the issue when a police van drove along. It past them and reversed, coming slowly towards where they are. As Linda saw the occupants of the van, she tried to run but something stopped her. Kayode and Tijani were among the occupants!

Tijani and Kayode immediately pointed to her and before you could say run, she was seized by the officers, who sat in between her and the guys to prevent anyone from escaping. She wondered what had happened until she found herself but seeing those batons and AK-47 rifle guns made her to keep quiet. When she got down at the police station, she saw some NDLEA officers who kept her and her cohorts in a separate cell. It was there she got to hear what happened. The previous day, a new supply of her goods was to arrive. However, she had an important customer to service in terms of intimate affairs,so she left it for Kayode and Tijani. They have handled such deals before and it was supposed to be hitch-free. They probably should have gone to a native doctor just to make sure. Justus had previously given a vivid description of the place and since Friday followed him to Linda's house, he could also recognise the house. So Tumise went to the place, and fortunately for him, one of the neighbours was his friend who had just moved in a few months ago and was disgusted with the incessant smells from the place. The guy gladly accommodated Tumise and there and then, surveillance had started. Meanwhile Ola went ahead to inform his father of the recent findings and it was found out that Linda was in fact wanted by the agency, as she was an important link to a couple of drug barons. So as Kayode was testing the new import, Tumise called Ola, who had made arrangements with the police and NDLEA to move in swiftly. Within five minutes, they swooped the area, catching Kayode and Tijani in the act. They initially proved tough, but with the help of the ever skin loving pressing iron, they melted faster than butter in front of fire. Linda, meanwhile had gone to a party with her customer and arrived home late, so she suspected nothing and actually forgot about the deal until this moment.

She looked at Tijani and Kayode, absolutely fuming. "Who go come clear us now?" Kayode said, looking disoriented. A clear slap came through from Linda to Kayode, catching him and Tijani by surprise. "How can you be so careless eh, Kayode?" She looked at him, fire burning in her eyes. "How can you? Look at what you have put me through now. Do you know that my exams start this week? You could not find a way to get to me without involving the police, abi?" "Madam, take am easy jare, no be say you get the mind to bear torture." Kayode said grudgingly. "You no sabi wetin we suffer." Tijani added. "See, if you want your faculties to be alive, better don't say anything else, you hear me? And don't even disclose the location of Don, you understand?" They nodded their heads. "Where is the customer?" She asked them. "We no sabi where him dey. They divide us when we reach here." Linda paced around the room, feeling so angry. Not only will she miss her electives, she is certainly doomed to miss the rest of her papers too. She was not too scared of jail though, she had confidence that Don will facilitate her release. All that confidence disappeared on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cassie and Co continued their exams with new found joy, hope and happiness, all found in their recently strengthened bonds. Comfort in particular came out in the open and received sympathy from many people, she was even asked by a NGO to speak on a conference concerning molest. Courage finally decided that Ken had a right to come closer to her heart and yes, they started dating. What had started as a simple habit of reading together had transformed to a new, sizzling relationship, with Ken even changing some things to accommodate her. Courage was now more bright and open to others. Cassie, however had a few dark clouds on her head. Yes, she was still studying well (or hard), but her emotional pain due to her breakup with Adedayo kept her in a mix. And more was to happen after her exams.

Don was chatting with Esther, one of his female clients when the news of Linda's capture came through. He quickly stood up and confirmed it from one of his spies in the police before deciding on the next step. Don, a middle-aged man, whose real name was Nwachukwu Ebenezer has been in this business for some time, around ten years now. He started as a handsome, young and deceptively slim 27 years old smuggler, smuggling Concaine into jewelry cases and fruits before he gained freedom from his barons seven years later. That freedom came at a cost, though not from him as a fellow smuggler was caught and he exposed his boos. Both the boss and his accomplice were jailed for 20 years, giving him the freedom to use whatever money he gained from the business. He still kept contact with his boss though, who gave him advice on situations that pop up once in a while. Like today. The news of Linda's arrest was not new to him, every now and then some little issue pops up and she gets into trouble. Most of the time it was so easy that she could get out of it herself, just a little bribe and everything was fixed. What worried him was the people involved. NDLEA. They had been looking for him for some months now, almost a year and a half. They were not easily bribed and some of the staff had a grudge with him, as he had killed some of them before. With Linda in their hands, he could smell blood. His Blood.

Don quickly wore a T-shirt and a good jeans trousers and picked his car keys. He knew that this will lead to trouble, but the extent of trouble is what he did not know. He decided to get his answers soon. He entered his car, a KIA Picanto with a customised number plate call DON KRIS. That way, if anyone wanted to link his car to his name, it will sound dumb. Of course he meant using that for his friends, not the police. He drove out of his 3 bedroom flat at Modakeke and got to Mayfair roundabout, turned and sped his way towards Ilesha, to Ilesha Prisons to be precise. To his boss. ###################### ####### Cassie walked away from MIC 3.10 Laboratory, looking a bit exhausted. She had just written her 301 exams and everything looked a bit like greek to her. She at least did the questions she knew and left the rest to God, as they say. She was determined not to cheat, even though the temptation to do such was huge. She was walking towards Zoology Department when Shittu, her class rep stopped her. "Cassie, what's up? Your face has been a bit down of recent." She looked at him, weariness creeping in on her beautiful face. "Its work jare, imagine after reading that 301 like it was the last thing on earth, I could not answer most of the questions. Na God go save us from this HOD of ours." "Amen o, my sister, even me sef just dey look the question like mumu. But e no reach make e spoil your face now. You sabi say if you frown, the sun go begin dey cry?" "Shittu, where you hear that one again?" She said, smiling a bit. "I heard it from someone." "Who?" "Guess who?" "Tell me jare." "From him." Shittu said, pointing to his chest. "Shittu, you don start again, abeg no whine me." Cassie smiled a bit brightly. "Its okay, sha take care of yourself," Shittu said. "How is Adedayo?"

Tears filled her eyes as she was forced to remember her recently broken relationship. Shittu on the other hand, was amazed and surprised at what happened but asked no questions as he hugged her, telling her that its okay. When she gathered herself back, she told him what happened between them. "Such is life, Cassie. We plan a lot of things but situations come up and push them away from us. Just don't allow this affect your exams, for that will be quite bad." She nodded her head in agreement before rushing to Zoology department, Shittu watching her go. ###################### ####### Meanwhile, Don was in prison talking to his boss, or rather ex- boss. He explained everything, including the Linda part to him. The worries on the older man's face told him that the situation was grave. "Don, what have you done since then?" He asked, caressing his brow. Don looked a bit surprised at the question, even though he knew that he should keep a low profile, that question looked a bit drastic. The pause from Don was beginning to baffle the older man, who could not imagine that Don could not answer such a simple question. "Well, I am talking to you now, doesn't that count as something?" He told his boss. "Is that all? You mean you have not made plans of leaving Ife, have you?" " Common, you can't be that naive, Don. Don't you know that the NDLEA will not rest til they get you? And take this word as a promise from me, somebody from your side will spill where you hide and that will be the end of you." "What's your advice, then?" "Do you really need to be advised?" The older man gasped in shock, not knowing whether a heavy slap into his skull will wake Don up. "Leave the town, in fact leave the whole of Osun state and hide in some village in Ekiti or Ondo. In fact as you are leaving here, hide in another state. Don't return to Ife, you understand? Am sure the place will be crawling by now with operatives." "Thanks boss." Don said before leaving. As he put his key into the ignition, he told himself to disregard the warning. If only he knew...

He felt that Okechukwu, His friend and fellow smuggler, will be able to help him out, been more familiar with the dangers. He drove furiously, knowing that time was not on his side. Meanwhile, Linda was been tortured by some interrogators. Her torturers were women, yet from their faces it could be told that the usual human milk of kindness had dried up long ago. They absolutely had no pity on her, slapping her face with bathroom slippers while beating her bre@sts with them. Linda was hung upside down and after using the slippers on her rather soft and erect bre@sts, they return curve back to their original position, eliciting some pain from her. They kept asking questions about the smuggling business, about her bosses, about herself. Linda kept mute like a statue, not giving in to the torture. One of them, obviously unimpressed about how far they had gone, decided to take it to the next level. She dipped a long, big stick in a drum filled with some odd liquid and then ordered another woman to remove her panties. Linda;s pants were soon on the floor and the first woman inserted the stick into her, which did not cause any pain for Linda. See as her p##sy wide, Ashewo. The woman uttered, before telling the rest to leave the room. Linda hissed at the woman's statement, obviously displeased by it. She was wondering how long it will take before someone tells Don what is happening when she felt a certain itching sensation. Within the next five minutes, she was wriggling her legs, desperately trying to scratch herself as her hands were tied. Her private part was itching, Itching very badly.

Five minutes later, Linda was weeping seriously as her private part itched without ceasing. She was so uncomfortable that she was praying that it stopped, even if it took her to reveal some things about her business. Ten minutes later, the women came back grinning at each other. The leader then spoke. "Are you ready to talk?" Linda, now soaked in tears, nodded her head. Within five minutes, she has divulged all she know about her business, including all about Don. They used the fear of the liquid to gather more information from her, before leading her down and untying her, which led to her furiously scratching the place with her hands. This action caused laughter among the women, who understood what she was facing. They then dragged her back to her cell before planning to ambush Don

"What happens now?" Kayode asked anxiously, as he and Tijani watched Linda almost scratched herself to death. "Stop scratching, you only make it worse, Tijani advised her while trying his utmost not to laugh at her. It will end after an hour." "An Hour?" Linda screamed in tears as she scratched her way to Calvary, which forced some giggles from Tijani. She so much wanted to slap him, but her body will not make her to do so. "You have not started anything, shebi its still your v*gina you are scratching for now, in ten minutes time it will spread to your whole body." Tijani said, eyeing her. "You see what we faced here, eh? You were behaving like you were brave, meanwhile na just your P*ssy they put am on and you don break, do you know how many times they dipped me and Kayode inside that drum of liquid before we confessed?" "Stop it Tijani, she is a woman." "And so? Isn't she the one controlling us? This what happens when you leave and operation to a woman." "Shut up! Its us that messed up not her, and we dragged her into it." "You shut up! Always defending her! Just because of that coochie she gives you." "What about you, always ramming my a5s, animal!" "Aren't you the one allowing me, pighead!" Linda ignored the two mo*ons as they argued on. She was wondering what was her fate after revealing what she knew. On Friday, she received a shock of her life, as they received an unexpected guest. It was Don!

Shock and defeat was written on Linda's face as she saw a disheveled Don as he walked in, his head three times bigger than its usual size due to beating, his face was like amala that had suffered the ignominy of been handled by 35 different hands and left in the cold, and his clothes; a darkened white singlet and a boxers that had been blooded in the Second World War, gave all indications that it was over. As Don sat down, Linda put her hands in her head, which made Kayode and Tijani to wonder who the visitor was. ###################### ########## Don was driving furiously from Ilesha Prisons, obviously ignoring his boss business, yet. He knew that it was grave, the situation was that serious. He had no hope in Ife apart from Okechukwu in Moro. His boss last advice rang on his head. "If you disregard all I tell you, then I should expect you here soon. It won't be bad, anyway." He said in humour. That rang in his mind as he approached Moro, close to his friend's place. He quickly called his friend. "Oke, abeg I dey come your side. Yawa don gas!" "No problem, I dey house." "Ok, I go reach there in ten minutes time." Don ended the call. "You handled that well, Okechukwu." A soft-spoken woman said besides him. A gun was situated at the back of his head. "When he comes, you must leave this South-West. That's the only guarantee that you will be safe. Do you understand?" He nodded his head. Grace smiled at him, as Don edged closer. It was about time!

Don arrived, looking weary but happy. Okechukwu's place was the safest place he could be. Only him, Okechukwu and Linda knew here. Yes, Linda was under arrest, but he had supreme confidence that she will not expose him. If he only knew what had happened to her. Okechukwu opened the door to Don. Compared to the fugitive, Okechukwu was a masculine heap of meat. At 6'11, he was much taller than Don and slightly more muscular. However, his expertise was in smuggling stolen cars from other West African countries into Nigeria and sell them for great prices. His fair skin was as a result of his fairer living standard compared to other 'hustlers'. His sitting room was more spacious than some peoples homes and had enough upholstery to be used as an advert. Unfortunately for Don, the sitting room was also suitable to hide people. Don quickly sat down and rested his head on a pillow nearby. He was about asking for a drink of fruit juice (Okechukwu does not serve water, from fruit juice upwards), when he felt something cold facing the back of his head. Something familiar to him. "Well, Well, it has been a long time coming, Mr Nwachukwu. You are under arrest for smuggling and aiding smuggling of illegal drugs, sabotage and murder of various officers of the NDLEA. You have the right to keep silent as anything said can and will be used against you in the court of Law." Grace said as a shot-gun was pointed at the back of his head and other officers facing him with AK-47 rifles.

Don instantly thought of dodging the gun quickly before she shoots, but decided against it, since the eagle-eye nozzles of the AK-47 pointed towards him. Even if he took his chance and escaped a forced suicide, he could certainly not dodge the speed of bullets that will follow his actions. He simply raised his hands up, taking it as his fate. He looked stern outside but was weeping inside his heart. He could not believe his eyes, as what seemed as a warning turned to a prophesy. "If you disregard my warning..........." He remembered that phrase. He disregarded the warning and now he is paying the price. They quickly bundled him and Okechukwu away and drove them to the station. He looked at Linda with a murderous look, despising her with everything he had inside. "Linda what happened?"

Linda simply looked down and burst into tears. Don eyed both Kayode and Tijani, who looked completely stunned at actions of Linda. He then moved and roughly shook Linda. "Explain what happened to me!" He screamed. Kayode stood up in eagerness to pick a fight but Linda's look warned him that he will be in deep trouble. Linda suddenly wiped her tears and looked at Don. "Don't ask me,ask these mo*ons how I was exposed." She looked, shooting a look at both of them. Tijani shot back the look, while Kayode diverted his focus to the floor. With Don's arrest, the case was accelerated and within two weeks they were all in jail, with Linda serving a ten years sentence and Don serving a fifteen year sentence. Meanwhile, Exams went on and Cassie and co soon finished their exams. She was leaving her department when Mr Wale, a lecturer called her to his office.

She looked inquisitively at him, considering the fact that neither he nor any other lecturer has called her for anything before. She decided to answer his call, not that she had many options. Mr Wale's office was small, just like most of the offices at this end of the department. Unlike other offices however, it was devoid of the usual charts on the microbial world. Instead it was plain, the walls of course and his work was neatly piled on the table. Cassie noticed all this, not that it concerned her anyway. "Sit." He said, pointing to a chair. She sat down cautiously. "Cassie, what happened? This results are not like the Cassie I know." He said. Fear suddenly gripped her, forcing her face to manifest its presence. The last thing she needed was to hear that she failed an exam. How come it was marked that quick anyway? She asked herself. "Of course, you did not fail, but it was far from your usual performance. I could have just taken it as one of those things, but coupled with your appearance of recent and your countenance, I can tell that something is wrong, that one of the reasons I called you. So what's wrong, Cassie?" She paused for a second before lying that she lost a relative so as to change the direction of the convo, citing that she was okay. "Ok. I can understand, but please try and share your troubles with people, friends. Don't face issues alone." "The second reason I called you is personal and I don't know how you will take it." He continued, looking straight at her eyes. "I love you, Cassie." He said quietly.

Cassie looked at him with utmost curiosity. So he wants to date her? In school? This man no serious oh! She said to herself. "Well, I am not going to ask us to date now, especially as you are still a student. I would have loved to wait til you have graduated, but you are a young and beautiful girl and am sure guys have tried their luck on you." "The point is that I know that girls like you don't stay that long as a spinster, except you don't want to marry early and I doubt so, therefore I felt I should say my heart out before its too late." He concluded. Cassie continued to look at him, wondering what could dissuade him from chasing her. She did not want to get her schooling complicated because she refused to date a lecturer, and at the same time she was not interested in him. "Erm sir, I don't know how to put it, but I have not thought of it. Can I be given some time to think about it, sir?" "No problem, Cassie." Mr Wale said, standing up. "I won't victimize you if you refuse my offer, be assured of that. You are my favorite student and that does not change. But please sort your issues so that they don't affect your performance in exams next time, okay?" "Yes sir." She said, leaving the room.

Cassie walked quickly away from his office, wondering about what just happened. She could see his seriousness, his confidence and calm. Considering his offer further, she also thought of the stability he offers, unlike someone like Adedayo who could be prince whatever soon or some other guys who just want sex and are not serious. She was still surprised that she was a virgin, despite the fact that she dated a guy, especially in this generation of sex while dating. He is not bad facially, and while he was an older choice, it did not look repulsing to her, not now anyway. She sighed and decided to wait until she tells her roomies in her hostel. Their opinion will count here. As she got down to BOOC, she saw people gathering round the newsboard, the crowd sort of attracted her and she walked towards the board, anxious to know what was on the board. On getting there she saw an interesting caption: OAU STUDENT ARRESTED AND JAILED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING. With the intriguing piece of news in front of her, she started to digest it and got a surprise when she saw the convicted student in the picture. It was Linda.

Surprise, intrigue and disgust were what filled her mind as she wondered how low some people could get. "What?! You can't have a relationship with a man that is 10 years older than you. He will not 'jasi' and he will be weak. He will be forty and you will still be Hot and your eye will be 'chuking' for fresh blood." Comfort immediately spat out after hearing Cassie's dilemma. "Comfort! How can you judge a man you have never met!" "See, I know these things! All these lecturers sleep with all these 'big campus' girls and I heard how they don't go past a round. Some are womanizers, they are not all nice. Besides, you will be stuck in Ife forever!" "Comfort, why are you judging? Are you God?" "That's not my concern. Cassie, please listen to me. I don't advise such relationship. Its always complicated." "Comfort, you are complication yourself, so don't advice her on complication." Courage shot back. "See, Cassie," Courage said, facing her." There is nothing inherently wrong in dating your former lecturer. People have done it before and they have been happy about it. The first thing you should be thinking is if you like him enough to date him."

"Ehen, that's how you will advise her to date a 50 year old man." "Comfort, he is not 50, at least Cassie did not say so." "How do you know........" "Did I tell you what I saw today, Courage?" Cassie interrupting the discussion, "I saw a newsboard clipping on the Clique talking about Linda." "Which Linda?" Courage asked, trying to listen to what Cassie and Comfort were saying at the same time. "That Linda now, the one that was dating Ken, that Comfort caught with Tunji." "That pig!" Comfort said angrily, suddenly diverting the whole talk from Cassie love-life, "What did she do?" "Hmnn," they said she carried drugs. "Ehen, every girl carries at least Paracetamol for aches once in a while." Courage said. "Girl, na wa o! You think say na that kind of drug she dey take about? Na......" Comfort made some facial expressions like someone sniffing a hard drug. "That kind of drug? Linda?" Courage said after understanding what Cassie was talking about, "What is she doing with them?" "From the news, it was said that she was selling them to customers." "Ehen?! The same Linda! Hmn Ken was trying oh!" Courage was saying as Comfort kept quiet like she was in a daze." Abi you dey buy cocaine from am?" Courage asked Comfort, turning suddenly to her. "Tufiakwa! God Forbid! Who do you take me for?" Comfort said, looking stunned and slightly angry at Courage. "Shebi na you dey go party pass, you wan talk say you no sabi say dem they distribute drugs at those parties?" "Not the kind of party I attend, I only attend responsible parties." "Like the one at Diganga?" Courage asked while Cassie looked on, interested at the mental tussle beginning to come up. "That was a one-off thing, besides I don't date Tunji again. How can you think of me like that, eh Courage?" Comfort said, looking misty. "I meant no harm, I was just been inquisitive." "I can't do such thing, its bad and dangerous. Even if Tunji tried such, he will not succeed in making me do so." "Ok o, was just asking. So what happened to her now?" "I read that she and her accomplices are in detention. To think that she could do such thing is scary." Cassie chipped in.

"Well, I am not surprised." Courage said, "she looked like the type, just that the drugs part of it makes it more unfortunate. " "Hmn, what of if she sent her thugs to you or me, Courage? This is a serious issue, we don tackle this girl before." Comfort said, looking at the floor critically like it was a puzzle. "Maybe she dey wait for the day we go cross her part for town." "Or maybe she don attack someone and the person dealt with her." Cassie said. "Anyway, it has been sorted out. Let's thank God for his mercies." The other girls nodded their assents. The week rolled quickly, as Cassie traveled to Lagos in order to hustle a place for her IT. She was yet undecided on her status and had not replied her lecturer, although she was finding it more difficult to refuse his offer. Even though he did not disturb her directly, he has tried to know what her mind was towards him, asking some other students who st.upidly spilled his questions as they asked her unnecessarily about her relationship. Some, like Dupe warranted no answer from her. Two weeks into her Industrial Training (IT), she went for a wedding that involved her lawyer's daughter. The young lady was getting married to a son of an oil mogul and the wedding was high class in all standards. She went to feel good and clear her head off the recent happenings, maybe even see an interesting guy. What she did not expect to see was Adedayo. She almost fainted seeing him. He looked so innocent,so free and so handsome, like nothing happened to him. She could feel anger rising up her head, as she wanted so quickly to punch him. How could he be so free, so happy after all he had put her through? "Cassie, Cassie, Cassie!" Ifeoma, the sister to the newly wedded bride called to her as she came to sit by her side. Cassie quickly recovered from her avalanche of thoughts, but not before Ifeoma noticed. "Cassie, what happened? This one that you looked petrified, like you saw a ghost." "Nothing." "Really? After staring towards that direction for like 30 minutes. She noticed Adedayo all of a sudden. Or is he that handsome?" "Ifeoma, you don't quit! Its not about him." "Hmnn," ifeoma looked at her, frowning her face a bit, "I refuse to believe you. What else will make you stare at a particular man for minutes if not that you like him. Or are you turning to be a lesbian?" Cassie was so shocked at the question that her punch almost broke Ifeoma's arm.

"Ifeoma! How dare you think of me that way? After all you know about me?" "Well, University students nowadays are known to be crazy, not sure if I could vouch for you." Ifeoma said, holding her arm tightly, "God, you are still as strong as ever." "Before nko! You think I will lose to you in gaining strength abi? Even if we fight now, I will still beat you!" "If I hear! We will fix time to fight, yeye girl!" Both girls started to laugh about it heartily as they remembered their childhood days. They were a troublesome duo in school, a friendship forged due to their dads relationship, one working as a Lawyer to the other. They fought each other and with other children, especially boys. Ifeoma was taller, darker and slightly older than Cassie, but was so beautiful that she could pass for a beauty queen. However all those attributes hid the fact that she was a strong fighter and to make matters more complicated, the fights she had never showed on her skin. "So is he the groom?" Cassie asked a bit uninterested. "No."

Cassie heaved a sigh of relief, which made Ifeoma to look more suspiciously at her. "Cassie, speak to me. Wetin concern you with the guy?" "Wetin I talk now?" "Cassie, you can't deceive me. Your body language tells me that you have history with him." "Hmn, which history? Ifeoma na you write history book wey me and am dey?" "Cassie I repeat, you can't deceive me. I am a lady and I have been around ladies for long to understand their body language. Cassie, something tells me you know this guy. Why you are denying it when its obvious?" "Cassie!" Both ladies turned around to see Adedayo looking at them. "Ah, he even knows your name, so what excuse do you want to bring?" "Did I say that I don't know him?" "You insinuated so." "Ifeoma abeg no come......" Cassie, can we talk? Adedayo asked her, standing close to her.

Ifeoma looked at Cassie, nudging her on with her eyes. Cassie surprised at his boldness, decided to give him audience. "Cassie, Can we talk somewhere else?" "Ade, whatever you have to say, say it here! Am not going anywhere with you." "Cassie, I just feel that this place is too open. We can discuss....." "Here." Cassie said firmly. "Or if what you have to say is so secretive, Find someone else to talk to." "Cassie, why are you like this? Listen to the guy." "Ifeoma, its not your business." "Says who?" "Says me. If he speaks here, then fine, if he does not, its none of my business. Besides I want you here to judge the situation." Adedayo knew that from her utterances she will not budge, so he started. "Cassie, forgive me........" Comfort was walking towards her Aunty's place, an aunt who she has not seen for a long time. In fact, She had not seen her since she was five. She was about entering when she heard her name from the back. She saw Tunji. To be continued shortly

Like a light bulb, Comfort's eyes lit up in anger. "What are you looking for here?" He looked at her, a bit bemused." So we can't greet without any trouble, Comfort? Has it become this bad?" "Yes, it has." Comfort answered, "At least for a guy who broke my heart twice and attempted to r@ pe me once, its enough to put distance between us." "Comfort, I understand that you don't like me and I understand if you don't trust me but Comfort please don't make me your enemy." "Hmn,see who is talking. So after everything you did to me, you expect me to greet you normally? No Tunji, I can't. No matter what you say, I can't accept your friendship. Tunji, you are Devil's right hand man." "Comfort, please forgive me. I have not been normal since that incident, I have suffered hurt and shame from home, my parents have turned against me and I have no friend in the world. Comfort, I know that I have offended you and it will be a dream to ever be close to you but please forgive me." He ended his plea on the floor, crying. "Fine I forgive you but don't expect us to be close again." Comfort said. "So am I free to go?" "Thank you, Comfort." He said standing up." I won't disturb you any further."

"Cassie, I know that I have offended you, but I believe that you can find it somewhere in there to forgive me. I was s.tupid to drop you that way." "So what happened exactly to your dad's title ambition?" Cassie asked, rolling her eyes. Ifeoma was spell-bound by everything that Adedayo gave away as per his relationship with Cassie. However, she kept herself from asking questions, as she did not want to disrupt the chemistry she was seeing. Or maybe lack of it. "As my uncle was found and the whole plot exposed, he was dropped. My dad was relieved, especially as he could divorce my mum without any issue, which he did without hassles. But Cassie, my heart has not healed since then, I need you more than ever. Please Cassie, consider me once again and I won't make you regret it." "As you made me regret it before abi? What of if your uncle really dies and your dad has to take the stool, what will happen to me?" She asked. After getting no response, she smiled." Sorry Adedayo, this heart is closed til further notice." Comfort eyed him as Tunji retreated to the streets. She was wondering if she did the right thing by forgiving him. She knew it was right in all ways, but she wondered why she did so easily, besides she was beginning to get some weird feelings. Bad romance! Her twin self said in her mind.

Comfort opened the door as soon as she got in, just to meet an inquisitive aunty. Comfort, what are you doing with that boy? Get inside now! She ordered Comfort, dragging the girl with her. Cassie, reconsider. You know that I truly love you? Adedayo said, almost kneeling down. Ifeoma was touched by his simplicity and his attitude, but Cassie was having none of it. Ade, Ade, stand up abeg! I no send you message, I am not interested anymore. What is hard in that statement to understand? Please. Please, don't embarrass me or yourself here. She stood up and started walking away, an action which drew the attention of guests seated around them. Cassie, noticing the attention, got more angry and walked sharply towards the exit. Adedayo tried to follow her but Ifeoma stopped his hand. Tell me what happened. Comfort aunty dragged her to a seat. "Comfort, wetin you dey do with that useless guy?" "Aunty, I do nothing oh! Na him just greet me." "No lie for me! Am an elderly woman." Comfort eyed the woman, obviously angry at the way she was behaving, especially as she had barely landed. "Aunty, I no do any oh! I just dey come now,now na so you come dey accuse me, I no like am oh!" She was reluctant about visiting her aunt because of situations like this. The older woman's ultra-suspicious way of looking at her every time she comes pisses her off to no end, especially as was usually baseless. This often shadowed the woman's kind heart and other 'fairer' attitudes. "Aunty, I no like am at all!" Comfort almost shouted at the older woman when she persisted with the question. The older woman was now convinced. "Why did he greet you?" "Its because we attend the same university, or at least he attended it before he was suspended." "Okay, I am just looking out for you, just be careful sha. You know that you are the only link to my sister." Comfort was blushing, "I heard he r@ped a lady in school that why he was suspended."

Comfort was gob-smacked to hear that from her aunt, especially as she was the lady involved. She recovered well enough though to disguise what was already an interesting facial expression from her aunt. "Ehen? Me no know oo. Who tell you aunty?" Who told me? It is all around town. His dad disowned him after hearing about what he did and now he is living with one guy in the area and is doing menial jobs for a living. So aunt sabi menial jobs? Comfort asked herself before asking the aunt what kind of work he does. "He was working for one construction site as person wey dey carry brick, he is now a cafe attendant in one of those cybercafes in town." "Hmn, so that's why he never show for school abi?" Comfort pondered, already feeling sorry for him. "So? Comfort, I don't want trouble. If I see you with him, I will have to send you away from here, you hear me?" Her aunty warned. "Yes ma, I no mad nah." Comfort replied, smiling mischievously. "I mean it Comfort. Oya, go and take your food" "Cassie, you should give him a chance." Ifeoma said, looking at an unconcerned Cassie. Cassie was busy in the reception toilet, combing her ruffled hair. "Did he tell you what he did?" "Yes, and you are been childish, Cassie. He did not betray you, did he? It was a tough choice to make, besides his dad seems to have cleared the road for you, so I don't get why you should treat him like he cheated on you." "Thank you! I am not interested in him." Cassie turned, looking at her friend. "Yet you were so relieved when you realised that he was not the groom, you can't lie to me." "See, you won't understand, me and him can't come together again." "Why?" "I am dating someone else!"

Comfort yawned. It had been a long day, from seeing Tunji to her aunt's interrogation. She was not surprised that he was not in prison, knowing that his dad had connections. She was however surprised at his dad rejection of him. Tunji was the only son from what she gathered, so she could only imagine what level of anger he used to deal with Tunji. She was already feeling pity for the guy when her ' other half' of her mind repeated a phrase. Bad romance! Ifeoma looked shocked at Cassie, wondering what was to come next. Cassie, on the other hand, was calmer than a river in dry season. "Or I intend to date someone else, that will be more appropriate." "Cassie, come off it! Who are you talking about here, because I have not seen you with a guy since you came for your IT." "Na my lecturer jare, oya go announce am!" Cassie said, feigning a bloodshot look at Ifeoma. Ifeoma was not impressed. "Cassie, I can't advise you totally on your relationship because I was not there in the beginning, the only thing I will advise you to do is to think carefully. You don't know who or what your lecturer and Adedayo will turn to tomorrow, just use your head and not your emotions, okay." "And stop hating Adedayo!"

Cassie looked in shock. "I don't hate him, Ifeoma, I am just confused about his case. I thought I was done with him, but seeing him today brings back memories." "So, do you love him?" "I don't know jare, I don't understand myself." "Its possible that you are afraid of what will happen later in the future and I can't blame you, who knows tomorrow? But I don't want you to make mistakes because you broke up with a guy. Adedayo may or may not be the man for you, but you have to make sure you know what you want to do and you have to forgive him and move on. Learn your lessons, but don't keep a grudge. Besides, I really think he is better than you make him look." "He is not bad, but am torn between options. If we did not break up, this will not have happened, but we broke up and........" "And you can't afford another hurt in your heart, Cassie? I understand you, but as I said, evaluate your options before doing anything. Choose the right option and pray about it. Do you pray?" "Well, to be frank, I have had no cause to pray." She looked at Ifeoma," I know, am a sinner already." "Noo, you are not. There is nowhere in the bible that not praying is a sin, but praying is essential, because you don't know everything about people or yourself, but God does and he is interested in you." "Ifeoma, abeg no preach for me. I don hear enough from all those ' better than thou' SU girls." "This is not preaching. Cassie, who do you see God as?"

"Why ask me that kind of question?" "I asked you because I know that you probably see God in a kind of light that is not wholesome." "Really? I just know that he protects people and he has kept me alive and well so far." "You see, that's why you don't pray that much. You don't see reason to pray to God." "That's obvious, so why should I pray more often? Apart from this love issue, I have nothing to bother about. I am feeding well, I lack nothing financially, my studies are good, so tell me what I need God for?" Cassie said before retracting her last statement. "I meant why I should pray more often?"

"True, when am down, I can pray to him and he will help me, but God is not just a 'help me' button." Ifeoma said, looking squarely at Cassie. "He is the best person to be with. He is great and not just power-wise. He is a good friend and father, anytime I have issues or problems, I can rush to him in prayer. He has plans for me and he is interested in speaking and associating with me. In fact, He has more interest in what I am telling you now than me." "Seriously?" Cassie asked questioningly. "Yes, and that goes without saying. Cassie, I can tell you that he loves you more than you know or imagine, and that he believes in your abilities to change the world. With you leaning on to his power and strength, you can do a lot. But more than that, he can help you make good decisions and because he knows the heart of everybody, he knows who has the best intentions for you."

"I can't tell you that if you follow him, challenges will disappear from your life or that your life will suddenly become a fairy tale. But I can tell you that with him, you can defeat any and every problem on your path. It won't be easy, at times God will ask you to do some tough stuffs, to make difficult decisions. But as I like to say, all things work together for the good of those who love him." "So Cassie, what is your answer?" Cassie looked at Ifeoma with surprise and then smiled. "Seriously, you supposed to be in the marketing division of a huge company, not in the medical field. See as you package preaching, not like all those SU girls who go and just talk of how miserable everyone else that does not accept Jesus supposed to be." "Well, they may be partially right, but that's their prerogative. Its true that eternity matters, and a lot too; but its not the only thing that matters. So Cassie, What's your answer?" "To which question?" "What's your answer about getting to know God? About really being friends with Jesus? To what I just said?" "I will think about it." Cassie said, "let's go back to the reception."

Cassie returned from the wedding a partially changed lady. She was still thinking about Adedayo and the question about God. Can she actually allow herself to go down the fanatic lane for a God she cannot see? She was a Christian no doubt, but that was only in name and church attendance. She had dated a young guy like Adedayo, they had kissed and smooched (though lightly) and she had severally had dreams about them having sex. On the other hand was her relationship with Adedayo. He was free for now, and it seems so for a long time. He had no hindrance as his dad supported the relationship. Yet it had ended in his hands. Should she accept to resurrect such a relationship, or should she flee to the mature arms of Mr Wale, whose lecturer lifestyle may keep her within Ife and make her redundant in the traveling aspect? She toiled with this feelings until she slept. She had another funny dream, similar to the first one which she had when things were going smoothly. She could see him calling her as she talked to another man and she watched as he left her, even as she turned and tried to get to him. She saw him walk some distance and sat down. All of a sudden, he stood up and started smiling, then walked away, a person walking besides him. She had a feeling that she knew the person when both of them disappeared in the shadows. She suddenly woke up in sweat, but deduced that her thinking was the cause of her strange dream. Some states apart, Comfort was looking startled at the mirror. After having a dream.

She saw herself on a road, running as if she was in danger. She then turned around to see nothing but emptiness all around her. She walked forward and saw Tunji in front of her, carrying a knife, moving stealthily towards a target. Her interest increased and she followed him until he got to a clearing, more like a clearing in a forest. Comfort then looked around the area, having the advantage of having some distance between her and Tunji to see than some people were wearing hoods all around the clearing, however he was blind to this. Suddenly a calabash of food appeared on the floor, with Tunji making a dash for it. She went forward and called him, but her voice was even more silent than that of a snail. He got there and started eating. Five minutes into his feast, the hooded figures appeared from nowhere and stabbed him with seven blades on his back, forcing him on the ground groaning. As he wriggled and tried to summon some strength to attempt a stand, he was stabbed one last time on the head by one of the hooded members. Comfort, immediately after seeing this, started to run for her dear life. She burst out of the area and was running towards the empty space when she heard a warning: "IF YOU FOLLOW HIM, THAT WILL BE YOUR FATE"

Comfort woke up after the warning and wondered what just happened. She turned back to sleep, trying to ignore the dream, but it haunted her so much that sleep literally fled from her. She made it part of her priority to tell her aunt about the dream. The next day was kinda busy for Comfort, as her aunt had to organize so files for her boss in the office and asked Comfort to run some errands. At noon, she was done and was about sleeping when she heard a knock at the door. She opened it to see Tunji, smiling at her. Cassie woke up feeling fresh in the morning, went about her chores and cleaning up before heading out to 'Leggies', a popular footwear shop in Lagos. She instructed the driver to come back in an hour's time after dropping her off, because she just had plans for window- shopping. She was checking a particular shoe when she saw Adedayo. With a girl.

Cassie tried ignoring them, however the girl's provocative dressing and her obvious show of attention caught her eye. Adedayo and his 'girl' went to another section of the store and he brought one shoe which seems to worth the world to the girl as she hugged him tightly and led to a couple of peeks on his cheeks while she held on tightly to him. Cassie, now slightly angered at the continued display from the girl, now walked towards the pair, planning the crash the party. As she was about to tap Adedayo from the back, she kicked a pall with some dirty water in it, probably left by a careless worker and it fell, spilling the water on her cloth and making enough noise to attract a crowd. Adedayo turned towards the source of the noise and was surprised to see Cassie. "Hi, Cassie," he said awkwardly before he turned to the other girl," This is Angela, my new girlfriend. Angela, this is Cassie, my erm... Friend." He introduced the pair to each other. The other girl gladly stretched her hand to greet Cassie, who was fuming with anger. She had no choice but to reciprocate the gesture by shaking her hand, although she shook it tightly. Adedayo looked confused at her action, then quickly and quietly led his girl to another section of the store, always on the lookout for Cassie. He soon sorted himself and the girl and left. Cassie, already feeling devastated, called her driver thirty minutes early and drove home.

"What are you doing here?" Comfort asked him, as Tunji smiled sheepishly. "I see that you still keep that anger with you." He noted and then looked around the house. "It looks decent enough though." "Please leave here immediately, my aunt must not see you here." "So she has already warned you about me?" He hissed. "Damn, where can I go to that I can talk unhindered to a human being?" "That will only happen when you travel to another region of the country and not here. Tunji look at me. I don't hate you, only that you reputation is well known here and as I have barely settled, I can't behave like its all cool with you, especially as I know about that 'reputation' well." She looked straight at him. "Well it can't be helped then." He looked sadly at her as he walked away to the streets, leaving Comfort relieved. "Cassie, you have to sort yourself out." Ifeoma told her friend after she explained what happened. "But I can't believe what he did, he replaced me like I was a doll or something insignificant. How can he?" "Oho, what about it? What were you expecting?"

"What do you mean by that?" Cassie looked at her with fiery eyes. "Cassie, if I am to be frank with you, you caused it. You dumped this guy at the wedding, remember? Did you remember your words? He must lost hope in getting you and decided to move on. At least he tried to get back to you. Most guys move on immediately and I can't blame them, the few that try to win their girls back are often made to suffer for nothing. So, unless you are really lucky, don't count on him coming back to you." "Ifeoma, help me nah! I can't bear seeing him with another babe, especially when they are doing stuffs that we used to do." "What do you want me to do?" "Help me break his relationship up." Comfort rested and went about her chores, listening to Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance'. It was apt for the way she felt about everything, about Tunji, about her dream. "IF YOU....." The words rang into her skull like a Nokia ringtone, keeping her alert. She was done with him, or about done with him anyway, so why the dream? She decided to ask her aunt. It was not long before her aunt came and the first thing she said when she came in was.... "What was that boy looking for in this place this afternoon?"

Ifeoma looked incredulously at Cassie. "What do you want from him exactly? You chased him away, he has got another girlfriend and you want his relationship to end? Cassie, move on with your life. If he is meant to be yours, then he will come back to you. If not, you will find your man when the time is right. Stop sweating over the issue! The guy we are taking about is a small boy sef." Cassie turned to look at Ifeoma, shocked at her statements. "Is that the consolation you can give me?" "Yes, that's the consolation I can give you, Cassie Blake Adams. I mean, I can't destroy someone else path to happiness because you selfishly want to keep him sad. That's the truth. If it was a case that you still loved him, I will understand, but you seemed confused about what you want and he is moving on." "Cassie face was now contorted in a way not different from a child who had just got a hiding. Ifeoma, you call me your friend and you say this?" "Cassie, if you want me to sugar- coat you and in the process tell you lies, I won't. Fake friends will help you do what you asked me to do and then watch you suffer when the consequences begin to hit you. True friends will see the danger in such and advise you against it. Don't do anything to their relationship, because if you do, Karma is always there and it won't be funny if the consequences start when you are married." "Okay o." Cassie said, mopping her face up, "Thank you."

"Oshey gan." Cassie said before facing her work. Comfort, on the other hand was shocked that her aunt got to know that Tunji showed up. "I don't know, he said he wanted to see me. I told him that its not possible and that he should leave me alone, then I locked the door against him." "Good, all these young men left by their parents have a lot of secrets they hid. Besides there are a lot of evil activities going on in this town Comfort. So please understand that I am looking out for you." "Okay ma." "Stop 'Okaying' me like I am forcing you." She then held Comfort's hand. together and faced her. "Comfort, I know that you are young and you want freedom. I don't blame you for that." "But you must know that there is nothing like freedom in the pure sense of it. There are always bondage and prices for various degrees of freedom and some prices are just too big to pay. The boy you call Tunji has been seen with some well known ritualists in town and what they specialize in is using people private parts for money. Comfort winced at this statement, so I not wanting you near him is not because of been overprotective. I care deeply about you and that's why i behave the way i do. Please understand me, Comfort." Comfort looked at her, tears shooting out of her eyes. The dream was now clear to her.Wahalahi! If she sees Tunji ten feet away from her, she go run comot. No be am dem go use for 'Ogun Owo'. Courage was praying with Kachi, Her church pastor when he asked to pray for her friends. She was praying when she saw something like a dream.More like a vision. Of Comfort.

Continues She saw some armed men with guns, moving from house to house and breaking down doors. In every house they opened, some screams were heard with at least one bullet been shot, meaning that someone was been killed. As they entered a certain house, they met two women, one of then been a target for them. As they raised the women's heads up, she could see Comfort as the younger woman. As they were discussing on what to do, Comfort suddenly broke free and started to run. As she got out of the house in a bid to escape the armed men, two shots rang out, dropping her dead. "Jesus!" Courage shouted as she suddenly opened her eyes, putting a sudden end to her prayers. "Sister Courage, what happened?" Asked a concerned Kachi. "Sir, I had a vision that one of my friends was in trouble." "Hmn, all these friends that don't have Jesus as the centre of their lives." "Sir! You like emphasising that part of their lives!" "Because its important, Sister Courage! They need to have the security of being in Christ. So what happened to this your friend?" "Some armed robbers came into her house and shot her." "Hmn, is she in school right now?" "No, she is saying with her aunt somewhere in Mafoluku in Lagos." "Okay, don't panic, call her. Maybe God is showing you the future so as to save her." "Okay sir, can I go now or should we continue praying?" He scratched his brow. "Go now!" Comfort was singing to herself when a call came through from Courage. "Comfort, where have you been? I have been calling you for some time." "I was bathing, you sound worried." "I need to be. I went for a church prayer meeting and I saw that you were attacked in a vision." "Okay, church things." Comfort said nonchalantly. "So what's next?" "Comfort please listen to me. I don't want you to be harmed. Can you just move away for some time?" "Abeg, abeg, when did I become the target of your church musings?" Courage wanted to reply her with anger, but checked herself. "See, I have done my best." She cut the call.

"Abeg! Just park well." Her phone found itself on the couch as Comfort set her hands akimbo, looking like the female impression of Sango. The squeezed 'pottage' face displaying on her did justice to her mood. "Na so everyone dey turn soothsayer, Aunty, Courage, maybe na Cassie wey go call me now! Who even sabi wetin that one dey do sef?" Her face turned its attention to the phone and the time, calculating when her aunt will show up. Suddenly she saw that dude, the light skinned fellow of the other time. His face keeping that eternal smile of serial killers and his slim stature betraying his intentions. His shadow been enclosed in light as his mouth made to make inaudible sounds. His mouth passing some unsounded code. His mouth.... Bam! Bam!! Bam!!! "Where this pikin carry her head go?" Comfort suddenly fired herself up and moved off like Robocop, before her aunt spill out some unnecessary dishes of words. "Ma!" The sound clearer that one of a flute came up. "So you even dey house sef! Mscheww! Open this door for me jare!" The door opened up and shown a distorted view of what was once a beautiful face. Continues "Nothing ma." Comfort's face suddenly reformed to a plain face, like that of a brand new dish. Just one of my friends calling. "Okay, sha prepare your bags, we are travelling out of this state." Comfort's face beamed surprise. "Aunty, where are we going to?" "We are going to Abuja. To Terry's house." Comfort suddenly started dancing around in glee. Terry was her favourite person in the family( after her aunt). He had just got a job in Abuja but the pay seemed good enough for him to rent his own home. "When did he call, aunty? Did he ask after me? Did he....." "Aha! E don do, Omo Terry! You know he will ask after you. And I told him that you are free." "Okay, when are we leaving?" "Tomorrow naw! That's why I asked you to prepare." She turned her phone upside down, making sure it was safe. Then...... The pillow flew out quickly and then the blanket, and then her books. Mr Prescott was the biggest loser, as he was flung violently, his pages finding wonderful expressions in the air. "How can he? How can he?? How dare he? How dare...." "Shut up! Na you cause am. Upon everything he do, na so so shakara you do for am, now new 'olori' don come, you dey vex." Cassie double spoke. "But he abandoned me for........." "You keep talking like a child! You know that if you are in his shoes, you will do worse. Isn't it you that is considering that old lecturer. Yet you are condemning him." "Please, love survives every temptation." Cassie hair and body swung out in anger. The hands stretched out, the heavens the audience for the unknown songs that was made. The double's face then moved towards an unknown audience, looking straight at them, face contorted in self-righteousness. "See life! See life!! This is why they insult the feminine gender. You expect him to be perfect, but you are far from perfect. He was pushed to the wall before he ended the relationship, yet a slight wind came and you are shaking. See you! You have a good friend who advised you the best way, yet because you don't want to be hurt, you prefer lies." "So what do I do?" Tears ran like a river on her cheeks. "Simply take Ifeoma's advice, do the right thing, sort yourself out!"

She then walked towards a mirror and took a good look at herself, managing to come to terms with her issues. She loved Adedayo, it was obvious, especially after the absence. She knew that her heart could not stop pounding for him. As she knelt down, she placed her palms together, her face been covered like a mask "God help me forgive myself...." Clothes struggled for accomodation into the all expense paid trip to Abuja. As each came in tow, they must have prayed that they will look pretty enough to be considered and none after them will be pretty enough to displace them. For who does not like to visit 'Jona's' own city? With time, each was discarded, which led to frowns, or were selected, which led to glee among them. Neatly folded and packed, they could only smile as their journey began. "Comfort..... Hope you have finished packing, ehn? We are leaving this place now!" "Aunty, what happened?" Steps found their rhythm downstairs as the owner forced a mini march to her aunty's room. "Why are we leaving now? I thought the journey is for tomorrow." "I have a business meeting this night and I will lodge in a hotel in Ikeja. I don't want to leave you here alone. So you are following me and we will leave for Abuja first thing tomorrow." "Hmn, aunty, but I can stay here and..." "No, I want everything to be easy. Its easier to leave for Abuja from Ikeja than me coming from Ikeja back here and going to Abuja. So we are leaving Oshodi now!" "Okay, at least I won't be bored here. But you did not tell me on time." Legs and hands started a ' dangle dance' of fury. "Oya,am sorry. But it was an emergency and its my Oga that called me. I will buy chips on the way, okay?" The rising temperature stopped and cool was restored, as the steps started their rhythm back upstairs. Continues* She soon found herself and her aunt in a car and on the way to Ikeja. Comfort's sat back, her quail-like load with her, while her aunt packed the 'Olumo rock' part of her luggage with the rest of her aunt's load in her boot. Driving past the street of Oshodi, Comfort could only catch her fun as papers and polythene containers danced to the frenzied speed-beat of the cars around them. How they managed to missed the hold-up that plagued Lagos like Malaria was a miracle. She found herself up, her phone been molested by furious fingers. She was going to try and make it count. Her 'solution' was the shot she had at him. Her hands trembled like it just survived an attempt by someone to freeze it. But she was not frozen, no; she was not even cold. Her hands just acted her emotions out, for she had the fear of Macbeth forced into her soul and the anticipation of a cobra who just sighted a prey. "Welcome to the New world! Welcome to......" The MTN ringtone saturated her ears, hopeful of getting a response. Unfortunately, she got none of such. "Adedayo, pick nah. Pick up please." She begged using English and pidgin to no one in particular. It rang a few more times and then stopped. She was about trying again when it started ringing. It was her lecturer! Courage was distraught at her friend's seeming reluctance to take her warnings seriously. She planned telling Pastor Kachi, but decided against it. That funny man of God can begin to lecture her about how unbelievers and those spiritually ' unconscious' view visions. She was about dialing someone when Comfort's call came through. "What's up sister! Your mouth don do am now, shey. My aunty don carry me comot for that place." "Thank God. Comfort, no be my mouth oh! Wetin e do for you?" "No be you wey dey call me make I leave my side for nobody. Anyway, I go soon travel go Abuja." "Eeehen! That's cool. Who dey host you?" "My uncle." "Okay o, take care." "Bye." "Who was that?" "Good morning sir." Her voice trembled with anxiety. "Cassie, good morning. How are you doing today?" "Fine sir." "Are you sure? Because you don't sound okay there." "I have a little cold sir." She winced her face at that quick lie. "Okay, so what about my proposal?" "Well sir, I am still considering it." "Really?" "Yes sir. I have to consider it carefully, sir. You are clearly older than me and there are cultural differences to consider, sir." "Okay, okay, I can clearly understand. You are still doubtful of my intentions towards you." "No sir, its not........" "There is no problem, take as much time as you need, but remember that I can't wait forever." Poom! Poom!! Poom!!! The line went dead. Cassie looked around and started executing her plans for the day. She was about going for a shower when the phone buzzed again. "Oh God! Who could be this daft person that called me this early morning? Can't people be more snail-headed than this?" She moved swiftly with the energy to blast through mountains in order to pick the call. She froze when she saw the person on the line. It was....... "Aunt, its one of my friends. She is female, don't worry." The monster look on her aunt's face softened up. "So?" Her voice did not. "Aunt! Can't I have friends again?" "Comfort, don't dodge the question. Who is she?" "She is a very good friend of mine. In fact, she called me early this morning over one vision she said she saw about me." "Tell me about it." "Aunty, its irrelevant!" "Tell me! Did I say it was relevant?" Comfort exhaled, knowing that it was bound to drag on until heavens come down if she continued to deny her aunt the information. "She said that she saw us been attacked by armed robbers back home and I was killed. She then advised that I should leave." "How is that irrelevant?" "Aunty! Don't tell me that you also expect me to take her advice seriously!"

She eyed Comfort for a moment, wondering if her naivete is not turning to stupidity and long time foolishness. She then held her hand like a mother giving her first lecture on puberty to her wide-eyed teenage daughter. "You don't treat such issues with levity, Comfort. People that have made no issues of visions in the past has gone on to regret it, especially if the visions are true. Your friend must have the best intentions for her to see such, for she must have been praying." Comfort face fell at that statement. "Am not lying, am I?" "No ma, we are best of friends." "So she won't be playing pranks with your life. Is she the very rich girl you told me about before?" "No." "Okay, but don't take her for granted, and don't treat revelations from God through anyone with disrespect, you have no idea how many people scrape around for genuine visions." "But we have moved away, that's why I said its irrelevant." She lifted her nose up." Hmn! Indeed! I don't trust you!" "Aunty, am not...." Its okay. I have a meeting to attend. *continues* Cassie looked at the phone, in a way not different from a bomb. To her, it was a bomb. A bomb that has no effect on her body, but could wreak her heart and emotions. A bomb Adedayo has the power to detonate. She moved slowly as her anger and energy disappeared into the thin air like iodine in the face of the sun. She moved her hands towards the phone like a dying man towards an antidote. Like the phone was tired of the whole drama, it switched off. Battery dead. "Oh My God! Where is that charger?" She said to nobody in particular as her previously lost energy returned, with clothes flying around in an attempt to clear the way for the phone charger. She finally found it ( after two minutes) and got her phone charging. She then left it and started to prepare herself for the day, using her 'beauty' corner, which was a chair with a mirrored drawer having her cosmetics in and around the drawer. "Aunty, make I prepare food?" "No." "But you never chop since....." "You Dey Mad? Abi that ear no dey work abi?" " If you still dey there by the time I stand you no go remain for this house by the end of the day." "Then e mean say I go do freedom be that?"

Cassie shot an eye at the maid before she started searching for an object to throw at her. The girl, obviously needing no Elijah to tell her what was coming, shut the door quickly, just as Cassie found a pointed heel shoe. "See what the i*iot caused!" She said, looking at her hair which was unkempt. She had a plan for the hair before Sidi's prank, and now she could remember nothing. She went back to the mirror and after debating on what to do, decided to comb and 'park' it properly at the back, before spending some time on her clothes. Five minutes later, she was done choosing her outfit for the day and was about wearing it when her phone, which was operational beeped; showing her that a message had arrived. She opened it and read the message: "I saw your text message. I tried to get to you but your number was off. I will be coming in thirty minutes time. I am sure we have issues to sort out. Adedayo." "Sidi!!!" To be continued.

"Sidi!!!" "Where is that girl now? SIDI!!!!!!!!!" "Ma!" A female head poked through. "I am sorry...." "I don't want to hear your apologies, simply clean up the house. I am having a visitor." "Yes ma." She took a bow and started leaving. "Ma, should I put the juice in the fridge?" "Noo! Wait for me, you hear? So in all your time as a maid here, you don't know simple protocols, Sidi?" "Aunty, abeg which be 'prontocol'?" "Protocol not 'prontocol'! Don't bother, prepare the house and put the juice inside the fridge. Go school, you no wan go. Don't try to utter any word you don't know in his presence, please." "Aunty, shey na man?" "Get to work, Amebo!" Cassie blitzed her away with her mouth, the maid running to her duties. Some minutes later, the soft hum of the door bell rang.

Cassie suddenly dashed towards the living quarters, just to hear Sidi 'welcome' the guest in. She then comported herself properly, before stepping out in a dignified manner. True to her inward guess, Adedayo was seated on her sofa, keenly observing the living room while Sidi served him the fruit juice. For a lousy servant she was well behaved, even as she walked away stylishly , after informing him that her madam will be attending to him soon. He was dressed in a round necked T-shirt and jeans trousers, with a Timberland canvass to match. He looked very much like the man she loved first. As she opened her mouth to greet, he quickly asked her a question. "Cassie, why did you call me?"

"Eh?" She was lucky not to be drinking anything, because she would have surely spilled out some juice in surprise. He was actually just calm, an eerie composure which was unsettling. Like he was going to interrogate a thief. "So, why did you call me? I saw your missed call, that's why I am here. Cassie, why did you call me?" Now he sounded unbelievable. You would forgive yourself if you thought she was a stranger to him. She, however was animated enough to beat the sense into him. "I called you because I wanted us to talk, to talk about us. Adedayo, I know that I still love you and I want us to repair our relationship." "Cassie, we have no relationship. Its over between us, get that into your head!"

"Adedayo!" "What? The relationship ended when you threw me away in the wedding, you conveniently rejected me and even had the nerve to threaten me. I gave up on you after that and now you ask me for a relationship? Its over between us." "So is that why you carried that useless girl you call Angela all around our favorite mall? Is that why you refuse to call me at all? Adedayo, what was I worth to you? What am I worth to you?" "Angela is not a useless girl! And that mall was not my favorite mall, in fact I never visited that mall again until I started dating Angela. So stop using 'us' in every conversation at this moment! 'Us' ended when you left me at the wedding. 'Us' has ended. Angela is my girlfriend and you worth little to me right now. I just decided to give you that last respect, since we did not fight." to be continued

Tears were flowing steadily from her cheeks as Sidi looked on from the entrance, obviously in a mild shock at what was happening. "Cassie." He stood up, looking calm. "I loved you with all my heart and mind when we started this relationship. I held nothing from you, apart from my family issues. I thought your love for me was strong until you trashed it in front of me." "Cassie, I can't even offer you sympathy right now, that's how much you are dead to me. I can only thank you for the good times we shared while it was still good. Bye." He walked out on the door. "Get out! Get out of my house!"

"So it has ended?" Cassie looked at the floor, hands on the head, totally unaware of the question posed by her friend Ifeoma as she recovered from the shock of the previous declaration by Adedayo. Sidi brought some water to the table, understanding that no wise- pranks will suffice here. "Madam, sorry." She knelt down and walked away. "Sidi, come and take this water! Who sent you message?" Cassie screamed at her maid, sending her bloodshot eyes to deliver the message. Sidi walked back and carried the water tearfully, leading to Ifeoma condemning her friend. "What did she do wrong, now? Why are you taking your anger on the poor maid?" "What's your concern? Is it your business?" Ifeoma hissed and puffed. "Is that what you will say, Cassie? This is why I find it difficult to help you, you don't appreciate anything someone does for you in times of pain. Imagine attacking that girl as if she is not trying to help you out." "Please don't preach the gospel of Sidi for me." Cassie said with a shake of hand. "So, that's the next thing? Cassie, you can be a ingrate. Have you forgotten what she did for you all this while? She is the one that finally put out the i*diot who is the cause of this trouble and called me. She has done everything possible to comfort you, short of holding you herself and you treat her thus? Cassie, I am beginning to think that you deserve what you got." Cassie looked at her, the absence of make-up helping her tears to move down without desecrating her lovely face. "Ifeoma! Ifeoma!! Ifeoma!!! Please leave." "Oh, you now chase me away? Cassie, is this about what I said now? Cassie, think twice. Think well. Stop this show and have a grip of yourself. I am going. I will see you later." As she made to leave, Cassie held her hand. "Ifeoma, sorry now. She gave her the lost puppy look. I don't want you to leave. I don't know what will happen to me if....." "Nothing will happen to you jare." She held Cassie, her face with concern written all over. "I would have loved to stay, but I have to go. I will check you tomorrow." To be continued

Ifeoma's actions was the tonic for another bout of weeping for Cassie. As the night approached, she started to think 'out of the box'. Negatively, of course. She looked at what could have been and what is now. Her parents are dead, she had no sibling and her love-life just evaporated into the deep end of the ocean. She looked at the mirror and saw waves of water coming behind her, gaining speed and grinning at her. She had decided on what to do. Tablets were littered on the kitchen table, with one and two and three and oh so many capsules on her hand. A glass, full of 'death' water was on hand to usher in her last dosage on earth. She still looked at the water running in the sink. Time was drifting. As she lifted the drugs to the heavens and opened her mouth, wishing that it ended quickly, her hand was hit by a sweeping force much akin to a tremor, sending the drugs to the sink. Death was cheated. By Sidi.

"Aunty Cassie, just concentrate on your life and school. I envy una wey fit go school like this because una fit do a lot of things wey I no fit do. *continues* "I won't kill myself, all this stress from aunty too much." Comfort was waiting impatiently for her aunt, whose business deal was keeping her from Terry. Her mind was moving from pillar to post, looking for something interesting to do. For all the hype about the hotel, it was a bore to her. Mainly because she arrived late at night and her aunt had warned her about moving around and meeting strange men at night. Her aunt, having said all this, left for her own meeting, which annoys her. "So much for a hotel." She muttered to herself, looking at the nice interior of the hotel. At least it looked the part and since it was 8 am, it was too early to judge anything.

Her aunt suddenly showed up. Comfort, I have both good news and bad news. "Good news is that I have been promoted. Bad news is that I have another business meeting for today so we can't travel to Abuja today, Comfort almost cried when she heard this, Am sorry, but you can come out and see the hotel, even go out. Only that you should not go too far." She bolted out after that last piece of information. "Like say I need permission from you." Comfort stubbornly shook her body in protest of her aunt's declaration. She however quickly decided to make the most of the day and swim in the pool. She remembered there was a pool even though it was late, the shiny nature of the water attracted her attention.

She started to search her belongings. "Ha! Where is my swimsuit?" Her open mouth was followed by more searching. Frantic searching that yielded nothing. "I could not have left it. Ha! When she got there, she was in for a shocker. To be continued.

Oshodi was a bit odd, a bit eerie when she arrived. The reluctance of the bus driver to drop her at her destination was the first hint of the danger she was taking on when she decided to come here. Fortunately for her, it was over. Burnt tyres filled the streets, giving an odious smell and a 'blacky' sight. Sharp objects of metal was scattered all around the area, and the ceramics called glass bottles were not left out of the mess that was visible. It was simple to her. Oshodi gangs were at it again. Some people must have fought her. She ran to her compound, meeting her aunt's neighbor. "Aunty Nkechi, what happened?"

Aunty Nkechi was best known as an 'amebo', one of those people whose God-given ability was to gossip and make the gossip 'sweet'. The lies used by them were legendary when it regarded a single person. But they said the truth when events like this happen. "Ah! Where did you go to? Na God save you oh!" She started, clapping her hands together. "Na armed robbers come rob everybody for this area oh! They kill plenty people, even pikin them kill. They came around 10 pm", Comfort's blood ran cold when she heard that, she had left 9.45pm for Ikeja. "Na so they just dey shoot, dey kill people. From wetin I hear, some police people join them. Na so for this morning, OPC guys com come, dey gather boys make they go storm the armed robbers. How them sabi the place I no know", She paused and spat on the ground, "na so they come dey fight, na so fight come spread reach here oh! See as people dey run, even me dey comot. Wetin you dey find for here?"

"Na one cloth I wan pick." Comfort replied. "Ha! Better do quick comot for here, make them no come catch you. E be like say them come find you sef. Anyway I do dey go." Nkechi folded her 'gele' and made some adjustment before scurrying away like a cockroach. Comfort rushed home, now getting anxious. That was the problem with getting this kind of information, it usually invites fear to you. Luckily for her, the swimsuit she was looking for was on the floor in front of her. She picked it and ran off. Once on the street, she gathered speed. She was in no mood to say hi, lest any misfortune reach her domain. She was so in touch with the danger that she almost knocked a guy down. Or she almost knocked him flat.

The collision with something other than wind stopped her temporarily. She slowed down even further when the person called her name. Her shock, however started when she recognised the fellow. It was Tunji, stabbed cruelly with a cutlass and battered seriously by no one known to her. "Comfort!" His voice was understandably quiet but sharp. His blooded hand and fingers were aimed to her, begging for mercy, begging for help. Those movements only scared the hell out of her as she sped away like Michael Schumacher in a Formula One race track. She was at the expressway now, stuck as no bus was passing. She was about crying and cursing herself for coming back when she saw Chukwuma, the local pharmacist driving towards her way with his Benz E-class car. TO BE CONTINUED

Comfort quickly ran towards the car, obviously happy that her luck turned around. "Good afternoon sir. Please can you help me? I need to get to Ikeja." The car window was brought down to reveal a young, slim, not that handsome man of about 28 years, whose obvious calm was partially due to the car that he was inside. "Fine, you can come in. I am heading there myself."

Comfort quickly hopped in and drove off, her heart still skipping beats as she saw the last of Oshodi. "So what are you doing in Ikeja?" He asked, bringing out a smile that outclassed anything that negative that she could have thought about him. Comfort, however, was not even aware of the question. "Hello?" He shook her as he drove, You seem lost here." Comfort suddenly came back to her immediate surroundings and in the fashion of Nollywood, smiled at him sheepishly. "What did you say, sir?" He shook his head and said nothing, preferring to leave her to her thoughts. They soon reached Ikeja and she dropped not far from the hotel, thanked him and ran to her base.

Once in the hotel, she ordered for some food before entering to her room and sitting down. The shock of what was Oshodi a few minutes ago was still slipping into her. The carnage, Nkechi's gossip and the sight of Tunji were replaying in her head. Tunji! One will not believe that his story will end soon badly, especially if his kind of life in school was to be considered. That a previously bigger than life profile of Tunji will be stuck in the mess that he was and to die in there was pitiful, even if he tried To Molest her in school. She then remembered Courage's warning earlier that week. To be continued.

She quickly called her friend and explained what happened. "You see what I told you, visions can be real, besides I can't start pulling such pranks with people I love. Comfort was touched by this statement. I hope you are somewhere else sha?" "Yes, I told you of Terry." "So, why are you still in Lagos?" "Na my aunty oh! She said that they promoted her and that she has another meeting to attend." "Eeyah! That's unfair on you. So what's on your mind?" "Na to go the swimming pool after I chop." "Ehen, big girl. Wetin you order?" "I ordered fried rice with shrimps and chicken." "Rice with shrimps and chicken? Where you see that kin thing? Anyway na big girl food." The bell rang. "I must go, na the food be that." "Okay, send my own part oh!" "Muah!" She kissed the phone and went after the bell.

Soon after, chicken bones and shrimps were littered all around the plate, confirming her 'bush girl' status. Not that she cared, she was very hungry after what she saw. Her gastric needs now met, Comfort sat back in the bed, wondering what could have been. How can Tunji just die like that? Is life so useless? She had heard of guys who died while swimming in a hotel pool, students that is. She has also heard of guys who died due to illness, but she has not met anyone who died to ask how it was, neither has anyone that was close to her die.

She now wondered where Tunji will be now. Probably in the morgue or worse still, scattered to pieces. What about the real him, the soul? Is he/ it close to hell? What about her? If she had died nko, what will be her fate? Her aunt and Terry will just cry with Cassie and Courage, na she go dey alone. What will be her stand? Fear gripped her. What will she stand on truly? Will she just float around in the air or will she, like in the proverbial local film, wander around until her killers were brought to justice? If so, then many people's spirit float around. What is the use of gathering so much wealth when you won't carry it after you die? If you don't have kids its worse, but even with kids its not secure, the i*diots could spend all the money after you die. She picked her phone and dialed a number. "Courage, is there any hope for me?"

She shook her head and promptly started to charge it. Out of boredom, she switched the telly on, just in time for a church program. The presenter spoke on Jesus, Heaven and Hell, with testimonies from people who had received one healing or the other. He then reached the moment when he asked for those who wanted to give their lives to Jesus. Comfort did not waste anytime. Pronto, she went on her knees and prayed along with the guy. The man then prayed for them and everyone else who had watched the program before rounding off.

Once she was done with the prayer, she felt a sense of relief. She immediately called Courage and relayed what happened which delighted her. The days rolled by, the three girls enjoying their holiday and IT. Cassie had shaken off her love sickness and was renewed and stronger, while Comfort was enjoying her time with Terry and her aunt in Abuja. Courage, who stayed back in school was also doing well in school. Schooling resumed, with the session been the last for Cassie and Courage, while Comfort had one more session. Cassie settled the lingering questions with her lecturer, kindly but quietly declining his offer. Comfort was now serious with studies and had even become a serious church member.

The session rolled as fast as the holidays and before you could say Ade, second semester examinations were on the way. Cassie had finished her last paper and in the tradition of OAU students, was dancing around campus with her classmates, making a lot of noise and enjoying the show, despite the water been poured by the guys when she heard her name. She turned back to see Adedayo, smiling at her. Courage was also done with her examinations, but was not interested in the dancing and celebrations. She was going to call Ken when he showed up. "Courage, I want to ask something from you."

He went on one knee, leading to her opening her eyes widely. "Courage, I have thought of it and I can't see any other option, because my heart belongs to you. Will you please marry me." He brought out a ring. "I know its not an expensive ring but......." "Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!" Courage had already ran towards him, not minding the fact that they were in front of ODLT, with other students watching. "I will marry you." To be continued.

Ken's heart was un bundled as Courage rushed towards him and engaged him in a tight hug. Busy-bodies and inquisitive student journalists were staring at them seriously, a small crowd already forming but they did not notice. The world was suddenly lost as they exhaled out their joy. The mood was interrupted briefly when a lecturer came through the crowd for his lecture. "What's happening here?" They looked towards his direction and quickly disengaged, knowing that a disgruntled lecturer will always be out to destroy people's fun. "Let's go somewhere." Ken dragged her away as onlookers looked on. They went to Fivers for a meal to celebrate their news Cassie stared at him, wondering what he was doing there. When he did not make a move, she quickly ran to meet her crowd. Adedayo, on seeing this, ran to meet her. "Cassie, I want us to talk." Now she looked at him with a disapproving eyes, even though she replied in the affirmative. They walked to Awolowo cafe and found a bench to sit down. He adjusted his shirt and his tie as he spoke. "Cassie, I am sorry for what happened."

She looked at him straight in the eye. "So? What can I do for you?" She knew where he was going and it irked her that she actually sat down to hear him. "Cassie, answer me please. Don't look at me that way." It was obvious that she was angry at him. Very angry at him. "I know that I offended you, but please don't make me your enemy. I know that I have done you wrong." He continued to beg her, Cassie crossing her legs together and staring at him. When he finished, she hissed and uncrossed her legs. "Adedayo, I have nothing to do with you. I have forgiven you, true, but I don't know what warrants all this begging. Adedayo, if you are looking for a way in my life, you better take a hike because there is not way. I don't need a boyfriend in my life right now and even if I did, it will never be you."

The way she ranted, you will think he duped her at the altar. Her face was bursting with anger as she came close in slapping him twice. "You know how I feel? You must be delusional. "Wow, its fine oh! Imagine the guy engaging you before you graduate! That's cool, really cool." Comfort's voice came out from the bathroom. The power supply in the room reflected on the atmosphere in the room. "That's a lovely ring. Menn, that's a good ring. When are we wedding?" Cassie said, winking at the recently engaged bride. "I don't know, but we are planning the traditional wedding in December. Will you guys come?" "Noo, we will not come, we go just allow you marry like that!" Comfort shook her head like a child. "We will come jare! Congrats!" Cassie said, looking at Courage. "Our time will soon come." She told Comfort. "What about Adedayo? I saw him calling you." Comfort asked.

"Uh, that one? She said with a wave of hand. He came begging me for another chance. He thinks that am a roulette that he can be taking chances with." "Aha! You should not talk like that. What if he is really sincere." "Sin- what? Sincere ko, sin city ni! That guy almost cost me my life." "Cassie, na you wan kill yourself, its not him." "So? Do you know how pained I was? He spoke to me like I was useless. He called me a dead person. What is the use of the dead to the living, eh?" She asked Courage, whose face was slightly sad. Comfort, who was watching the exchange between them, now stepped in.

"Courage, I understand Cassie a bit better than you do. She has gone through a lot of recent and the guy had a hand in part of it. Adedayo may be honest this time but what guarantees that everything will be okay? This is similar to mine situation with Tunji. We know where that ended, and I could have died with him." "Adedayo may not be exactly Tunji, but he has come at his own cost and the simple truth is that one can love a lot and lose a lot in a relationship. Cassie has lost a lot in this relationship and she need some space, like she really does need the space." She turned to Cassie. "I support your decision to move on, but don't just erase him from your life yet. I can see that you still hurt from the pain he caused you. Heal completely before making a final decision. Am sure you will get it right this time." Courage looked at Cassie and smiled. "Well, I am here for you, not matter what happens." She hugged Cassie, with Comfort joining. "Thank you."

Ten years later. A blue Kia Jaguar stopped at the Faculty of Physical Sciences car park, taking up temporary residence there. Out of it came a woman in her thirties. The dressing and the carriage of the woman told the story of a rich woman who won't be closely connected with this dusty school, yet a glint in her eyes suggested otherwise. Cassie Blake Adams-Balogun had grown to be a wonderfully sexy woman. Abundantly rich as at the present, her beauty glowed further despite the fact that two kids had passed through her privates. Some maturity had also grown into her as well, even though she had a childish apathy towards coming for the alumni meeting of this school. To be continued

*continues* However she couldn't discourage herself from coming. At least, this is where it all started, if memory serves her well. It was where she met her husband, then still a small, cute boy with immature tendencies, it was where she had made friends with many people, including lecturers. It was while she was a student that she gave her life to Jesus. But most importantly, it was here she met those two fellows she called best of friends. "Juwon, stop running around!" Adedayo's voice brought her back to the present as he held a three year old Juwon, her first son whose excitement at a new environment made him sort of animated. She looked at Adedayo and smiled. It took three years after graduation before she could forgive him of that incident, where he damned her to hell. They dated for a year and then married. Juwon came in three years after, and then Isabella introduced herself three months ago.

As he held his son, who was rebelling at the moment from his father's instructions, a feminine hand tapped her from behind. "So this where you decided to park!" "Courage!" Cassie let out a whispered scream as the two friends hugged themselves, Chidi, looking suspiciously at both of them. The precocious kid was Courage only son and despite been just six years, he could tell that something special was happening there. What it was, he did not know. Before he could probe his mother, Kenneth dragged the boy away from the scene. "Must you follow your mum around like a bodyguard?" He said, smiled at the young boy as Adedayo walked up to greet him. Pleasantries were been shared when another Kia Jaguar drove up with some speed, scaring passers-by before turning sharply and parking at the car park. Comfort! Cassie said, smiling at the scene made before making up her mind to chide her friend

Before she could do so, however, someone else was at her neck. "Comfort! This your driving can kill people oh! I have told you, drive safely." "Did anything happen, Shittu? Abeg free me jare, I love driving fast and am always careful. In fact, I will be more careful if you don't talk that much while am driving." Unlike her friends who wore gorgeous native gowns, Comfort was looking smashing with her choice of a turtle neck shirt and skirt. She walked with the aura of the business CEO she was, at least to raise a company from the scratch was never going to be easy, especially if its the food industry. Shittu on the other hand, was a civil servant, who was currently on his leave. That's partially the reasoning they were here. "Girls!" Comfort greeted her friends as they talked away the time, Ken, Adedayo and Shittu watching as the ladies enjoyed themselves. Good Friends Last all the time! THE END.
