The leading breaking news on the 17th of January 2018 is the ground breaking update on the plummeting price of BitCoin. Bitcoin which most people have gotten a whiff of especially during the end of last year as it hit an all-time high price of $17,000+ according to coindesk .

The bad news is it has dropped massively to just $10,250 dollars as at 17th January this year.

Most investors who cashed in onto the continuous increase of BitCoin hoping to buy and sell later when the price is up to about $30,000 should be very disappointed now. Nobody expected the price of BitCoin to drop this low so early this year. Even top cryptocurrency marketers tagged this an “unbelievable fall” in the price of BitCoin.

This of course will lead to a continuous chain reaction as most of other cryptocurrencies drop in price will follow as their worth is in one or the other tied to Bitcoin. This includes other top cryptocurrency coins like Ethereum, Litecoin etc.

The price increased dramatically last year which resulted to many people jumping into the business, some bought as many BTC as they can and hoard their coins believing in 2018, the value will get to $20,000 in January so they can sell and make profits.

All of this dream has been shattered for now regarding this avalanche-like fall in the price of BitCoin, almost $7,000 less in value.
