A Minute Might Be Too Late

Tonia is a young lady in her early twenties who loves to party and go clubbing but her mum is a devoted Christian who has tried everything possible to change Tonia's lifestyle but all effort prove abortive. Instead of Tonia to change for the better, she keeps getting worst each passing day.

Tonia's dad had even threatened to stop his wife from serving God since she cannot change their daughter from her wayward ways but his wife keep on saying that she knows her God will change Tonia very soon.

One fateful evening, Tonia was on her way out to party as usual, when she saw her mum sitting in the living room reading her bible. Tonia wasn't happy at all to see her mum in the living room at that hour because she knows her mum was going to sit her down and start with one of her boring sermons as she calls them because she was not really in the mood for them that night, so she decided to tiptoe out of the living room unnoticed since her mum was so engrossed with what she was reading but before she could open the door, her mum called her back

Tonia's mum: Tonia where are you going?

Tonia: Am going out to party

Tonia's mum: My dear when are you going to stop partying?

Tonia: When I get tired of parties

Tonia's mum: When are you going to give your life to Christ?

Tonia: Mum why all these questions this evening?

Tonia's mum: I won't ask you any question again but please come and sit down. I want us to talk

Tonia: Not tonight mum. Am already late and am also tired of all your boring sermons

Tonia: Today's own will be different and I promise not to take much of your time.

Tonia said okay and went to sit beside her mum.

Tonia's mum started to preach to her daughter and Tonia was touch with some of the things are mum said to her

Tonia: Mum I must confess that I have never been this touched by your words before so because of this reason, I promise to give my life to Christ after tonight's party

Tonia's mum: Why can't you give it to him now?

Tonia: Mum I can't tonight but I promise I will tomorrow and I will even follow you to church for fellowship

Tonia's mum: No my child give it to him now because a minute might be too late you know?

Tonia: No mum a minute might be too late won't be my case and right now I need to go to that party because am already late.

Before Tonia's mum could say a word, Tonia has already closed the door behind her.

Tonia got to the party venue and met her friends waiting for her outside. She greeted them but they replied her greeting with "why are you late". Tonia gave them a reason why she was late which was not the real reason. Tonia and her friends entered the hall where the party is being held.

Tonia didn't dance or drink in the party because of all what her mum had told her earlier, she only sat down in one corner of the party observing all that is going on in the party.

Few minutes later, Tonia's friend named Janet came to where she was sitting to inform her that there is a guy in the party that has been staring at her since she came to the party and now the guy wants to see her. At first Tonia refuse to go see the guy but Jane persuaded her to

Tonia got up from where she was sitting to where the guy was. Tonia got to like the guy because he was really cool and gentle, little did she know that the guy was a ritualist looking for a girl to use.

The party had just ended and the guy offered to drop Tonia at home which she agreed to (what a costly mistake she made).

The guy has been driving Tonia for the past twenty minutes and Tonia got to notice that where the guy is taking her to is not the road to her house but to a place which seems so unfamiliar. She decided to ask the guy where he was taking her to and she was shocked with the reply she got so she started screaming for help. The guy quickly brought out a white substance from his pocket and blew it into Tonia's face which made her unconscious and the guy took her to the place where she was use for rituals.

This wouldn't have been her fate if she had given her life to Christ just like her mum had told her to which was before the party.

The End
