President Muhammadu Buhari has seized the Eid celebration to send a cogent message to the rampaging Niger Delta Avengers sabotaging Nigeria's economy. President Muhammadu Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Niger Delta militants that the sovereignty of Nigeria is not negotiable. He has therefore asked them to accept that fact and support peaceful efforts to turn Nigeria around. Here are the highlights of his message to the restive Niger Delta region: 1. The President warned militants in the Niger Delta region calling for the emancipation of the region to desist, stressing that the country’s unity is not negotiable. 2. The task of keeping Nigeria as one indivisible entity was a task that must be done by everyone. 3. The President used the opportunity to advice those who had in time past looted public funds to return their loots because he will not stop the anti-graft war. 4. Buhari noted that the government have to concentrate on the militants, know how many of them in terms of groupings 5. The administration also has to get in touch with their leadership and persuade them to give Nigeria a chance. 6. “I assure them that when we were very junior officers, we were told by our leaders, by the Head of State which was Gen. Gowon that to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done. We never thought of oil,” the president recalled. 7. “What we were after is one Nigeria. Please, pass the message to the militants that one Nigeria is not negotiable. And I pray they better accept it. The constitution is very clear…I assure them there would be justice,” he emphasized further.
