living in Lagos. But, it is common knowledge that with the right connections, life in Lagos can be significantly less stressful. That said, here are 5 useful 'friends' anyone who lives in Lagos should have. [B]1. A force person[/B]: An army, police even naval officer and not forgetting, the almighty LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) official are important friends any Lagosian should have. You know, for when things go south. 'Nuff said.

[B]2. Fuel attendant:[/B] Yes people, in these hard fuel times everyone needs a trusty fuel attendant who can keep you and your fuel tank adequately supplied with as little stress as possible. [B]3. Civil servant:[/B] Anyone who's ever had any dealing with a government office in Lagos (and Nigeria as a whole) knows that a simple process which shouldn't take more than a few hours can potentially drag into days and weeks . But not if you're connected in the civil service circuit, it's goodbye to long queues and obnoxious secretaries. [B]4. Banker:[/B] With Lagos traffic, the 4pm bank closing time can be an absolute kill joy...but wait, banker friend to the rescue. With one phone call, you'll be gliding past that overzealous bank security detail and conducting your transaction without even having to queue.[B] 5.
